20TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION

Dear Friends:

This month marks the 20th year I have been writing this newsletter. It is really hard to believe - sometimes it feels like only yesterday and then again - it really feels like 20 years!

This newsletter has really taken me a long time to finish. I started it so many times this past month and just have gotten side-tracked too many times. "Fortunately" for me almost all of you sent me Christmas newsletters - some of them being two pages I I When I got this computer, my idea was to enter a paragraph for each letter I received when I received it and then when it was time to print the newsletter - I could just push a button! NOT!! That idea never got off the ground. What I usually do is spend two or three nights staying up really late when it is really quiet and I can think. (In other words, there is nothing left on TV to distract me). I have crammed 6 months of letters into three nights - I try to pick out the important, funny, interesting items from each letter. It is really hard to do because all of you are so interesting and lead such diverse lives. It is a real emotional roller coaster for me to write this newsletter and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I am a little handicapped at this time in that I have had trouble with my shoulder which froze up on me and the doctor I was going to took a long time diagnosing the problem as adhesive capsulation and now I'm in therapy to loosen it up. It is very painful and frustrating and is making me feel very old.

I spent most of the summer going through 20 years of cards and letters and placing each letter in a plastic sheet and placing them in notebooks. So far I have four 31' binders and I'm only halfway through the alphabet Mike Wagner's letters alone fill one whole notebook. It has been great re-reading your letters. Let me also say that when you tell me that you have been re-reading old newsletters - it really thrills me that you kept all of them. Thank you for that. You are really very special people.

My family is doing fine. My daughter, Allison and her two little boys, STEPHEN and COLE, came to live with us two months ago. She is getting divorced after three years. She has a job at a law firm and is doing fine. Hopefully, the divorce will be granted without dragging on and she can get on with her life.

MARK and KYLE continue to do well in their furniture refinishing business - although their business management leaves a lot to be desired.

My husband DANNY, is enjoying his boat as much as he possibly can. He just doesn't get it that I do not like the boat, the ocean or the outdoors for that matter! Him and the boys go out and actually catch fish. Since neither of us like fish too much our neighbors are reaping the spoils. They have taken to ordering certain kinds of fish even. I just don't understand why anyone would slingshot their way out an inlet into the ocean and put five or six different poles out and slowly zig zag their way up the coast trying to catch fish! I went the other day and after two hours almost fell asleep and then Dan says - "You up for another hour?" Uh, Noooo - I'm not. I'd almost rather be at work! Otherwise, in his spare time Danny is still a sales manager at a car dealership.

Our son Kelly will be 12 in a few months. I'm still very paranoid about him and some people say I have sheltered him and spoiled him a little too much. "So what," I say He's my baby and always will be. We are hoping to place him in a private school for 7th and 8th grade and hopefully he'll do well enough to be accepted into the local Catholic High School when the time comes.

Then there is my Mom and Dad - they are still reeling from their 50th Anniversary AND still getting cards and letters from old friends. Dad attended a motorcycle safety class - aced it. He is also a member of the local American Legion. They do military funerals. Six retired servicemen put on their uniforms and act as pall bearers at funerals. It is a really impressive ceremony. I know this because I have seen the infomercial of the Pulaski Funeral Home of Somerset, Kentucky. My Dad of course was the star. He bought a new uniform complete with a new full set of ribbons and stars. They do about three funerals a week.

My brother FRED was almost blown away by the tornado that hit the Dallas suburb of Lancaster and DeSoto. His fence was blown down and he had some roof damage, however he is mostly distressed because he hasn't been able to locate his Old Smokey Bar-B-Que which was in his back yard! His new business is still going great guns.

30TH YEAR REUNION

The 30th Reunion is coming up in a year..... JUNE, 1995 - that's not very long. I am hereby requesting volunteers for organizing the reunion celebration. It will be hard to top the last one - It was so well orchestrated and successful. Could we be that lucky again? I will be able to travel to San Antonio for a steering committee meeting - however ... I really depend on you 'locals" there in and around Randolph AFB to really get things in order. I await your calls and letters - OTHERWISE, I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'LL DO BECAUSE I'VE ALWAYS HAD SUCH GOOD SUPPORT. Please help me think of what we can do this year - anything goes - As long as I don't have to put on a swimsuit
