Merry Christmas!!

This has been an interesting year for us. My shoulder has been frozen most of the year. Fortunately, I have regained about 50% of the motion in my arm and shoulder and I do see light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks to all of you who inquired. My husband DANNY caught a 7 foot Sailfish this year! He was alone on this boat when he caught it. We are having it mounted and will put it on the wall of our new sports/TV/computer room we just redecorated. My son, KELLY, started 7th grade in a new school and has been struggling but he has improved a lot and has made some new friends. My daughter, ALLISON, has moved on from her divorce and has met someone new and plans to be married next May! MARK and KYLE have been working hard. Kyle has a wife, Donna, and a new baby on the way next summer!! This will make grandchild #3! It's not possible! We survived Hurricane Gordon and the flooding, however our pump burned out and so did our circuit breakers. It was scary and REALLY scary when the thing headed back our way. But all is well now. We hope that 1994 was good to you and here's hoping that 1995 will be the best year of your life.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

REUNION 1995
30 YEARS!!

We have the date and the place - but not too many details. The Reunion weekend will occur the weekend of June 23rd and 24th at Randolph Air Force Base. Our reunion committee is being headed by JEANNE ROBERTS STINSON ('65) and KAREN POOR PECK ('64). The Officers Club has agreed to let us have another weekend. This will mark the 20th year we have held our Reunions there. I would like to present something to the Officers Club in appreciation for their continued support - anyone got any ideas? Send me art work or ideas. Details of the Reunion weekend will hopefully be available by March or April and informational invitations will be mailed. Since the Reunion is late in the month of June, I will probably get a newsletter out June 1 st with last minute details.

The invitation will have details regarding cost, activities and times and places. Also, information on accommodations, restaurants, babysitting, etc. As I have stated before, the Reunion will only be a success if we have your support and attendance. So make those travel plans now. As always I am looking forward to seeing all of my friends again. I'm hoping to be able to spend more time with each of you. It will be sad not to see Mike Wood, Mike Wagner, Bill Beightol and the other good friends that have passed to the other side. I'm sure they will be with us in spirt.

For those of you that can't possibly make it -- Please send letters, cards, pictures or whatever, to me and I will post them up at the dance for everyone to see. Also I will be bringing to the Reunion Albums for everyone to share. I have to bring an extra suitcase just for the albums!

Right now if you want to help or if you have suggestions for activities or themes you can always contact me. However, you can call or write to Jeanne and/or Karen and volunteer your help or ideas.

Again - Mark your calendar - make those plans - The Reunion will be held June 23, 24, 1995 at Randolph AFB. 30 years! - See you there!

BILL BEIGHTOL: Class of 1966 - Bill passed away on June 24, 1994. He was 45 years old. Bill retired from the AF as a Major on July 1, 1993 at March AFB, CA. He had recently moved to Austin with his family to begin his second career in real estate. Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with Bill's family at this time.

HAYNES M. BAUMGARDNER, JR.: Haynes and wife, Cheryl are back "home" in Cibolo after an extended tour in Stuttgart, Germany. They took advantage of the travelling opportunities and visited Italy, Hungary, Holland, England, Scotland, Belgium and to the Czech Republic - All of Germany and surrounding countries. Haynes is currently assigned to Kelly AFB, however he is planning to retire soon after 25 years and pursue a degree in education. Their daughter Natalie graduated from the University of VA in '93 and now lives in Dallas. Son Trey is attending his 3rd year at George Mason Univ. in Fairfax, VA.

JAN BAUMGARDNER (Haynes' Brother) and his family live in Austin and Mom and Dad Baumgardner live in Lubbock.

BILL BORELLIS: Bill lives in Woodland Hills, CA - I just received a picture of his kids, Jade (13), Rachel (9) and Jared (4). Bill reports that his two girls are real star athletes. Bill coaches the Girls 8th Grade Basketball team @ his girls'school. Bill still works in the insurance field and he specializes in writing commercial insurance packages. Bill is planning on attending the Reunion.

MIKE FAUSETT: Mike called a few nights ago - he was making his vacation plans and wanted to know the date of the Reunion. He is going great guns in the home contracting/construction business in California. He was on his way to hunting and/or fishing in Alaska.

BONNIE HORNE McKEEVER: Bonnie is still in Oklahoma. Sad news is that her 13 year old nephew, Taylor died of cancer just recently and the whole family has been devastated. Taylor had been hospitalized at the time of our last reunion with an unexplained illness which was subsequently disagnosed. Bonnie works for a CPA firm and is planning on attending the reunion.

ART NIGRO: I'm really not sure what's up with ART. I think he is managing The Siam City Hotels & Resorts in Thailand. Be sure to look him up when you are there.

JEANNE ROBERTS STINSON: Jeanne has agreed to be one of our Reunion Co-Chairpersons. She has already done a lot of the leg work for the Reunion. I think this is Jeanne's first reunion or at least she hasn't been to one in a long time. They were stationed in far away places during the last reunions and now are stateside and living in Universal City. Unfortunately, Jeanne's Dad, Eugene (Gene) Roberts passed away right before the Thanksgiving holidays. We are all saddened to hear this news and our deepest sympathies are extended to Jeanne, her mother, Dot and the rest of Jeanne's family. Jeanne and her husband, Steve, have moved into their new home in Universal City and Steve still commutes to Kelly. Her youngest Son, Michael is in the 4th grade. Son, Kelly, goes to college and oldest son, Kyle, is in the Air Force and is soon to be married. Thanks for the newspaper articles.

KAREN POOR PECK: Karen is our second Co-Chairperson for the Reunion Committee. Karen still lives in San Antonio. Karen became a grandma on September 21, 1993 to a beautiful little girl, LAUREN TAYLOR PECK, who was born to Karen's daughter, Courtney. Courtney is attending SAC and Karen's other daughter, Michael-Anne is a Junior at Robert E. Lee High School. Husband, Bob, is still selling Cadillacs. Karen does medical billing consulting in the health care industry.

BONNIE REED ENGLISH - 1968. Bonnie finally kindly corrected the mistake I had made. I had her confused with Karen Reed ('67) who we think is married to Terry English ('67). How I got them all mixed up - I will never know. Bonnie sent me a picture of her and her family who has lived in the San Francisco area for 20 years. Her husband, Bill Gallogly, was a pilot at RAFB and has been flying for Fed Ex for years. Bonnie is a teacher in high school. They have a 15 year old daughter, HILARY, and a 12 year old boy, REED (more confusion!!). The picture was great - It will be added to the Reunion Album - the mountains are beautiful and Bonnie - you look like you could just jump out of the picture and do a cheer! I do remember that you were a cheerleader.

BILL KEM is still in Ponca City, OK and is teaching PE in a Catholic School. His daughter is 15 and in drivers Ed. His son, Kevin, is 18 years old now and is in College and is a professional dancer. Bill also runs a fitness place/gym and his wife runs a dance studio.

DAVID McDOWELL is in Reno, Nevada where he works as a computer programmer writing games for the Gaming Commission. He has been married for 15 years and has three kids, nine, eleven and thirteen. He has an older son, age 21, who attends Johns Hopkins. David also plays in a band and plays 50/60's music. What else?

It was great to hear from JUDY MINOR VILLARI. Judy lives in Savannah, GA. Judy and I have written to each other several times this year and discovered how our lives intertwined without our knowledge. Judy of course is SANDY MINOR's ('63) sister. Judy left Randolph before graduating from RHS but treasures her years at Randolph as we all do. Judy and her husband, Joe, celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary in April. Joe is a regional vice president for a pre-owed aircraft sales with Gulfstream Aerospace Corp in Savannah (31 years). Judy has a son, Todd, age 26 from her first marriage. He is a graduate of Winthrop Univ. and has been married for 3 1/2 years. He is an agent for the state of South Carolina in their Probation, parole, and Pardon Services department. Judy and her husband just built a new home which survived the recent floods in Georgia.

PATTIE TYLER writes from Austin where she works for IBM. Pattie is also helping with the Reunion Committee. Pattie took a quick vacation to Colorado for a Rocky Mountain High! Thanks Pattie.

TERRY SMILJANICH sent me a nice picture of him with MICHAEL WAGNER's daughter, RICHON. Richon and her mother Terry were visiting the Smiljanichs this summer. Terry Wagner is working parttime at a school in Westwood (near L.A.) The Smiljanichs are still in the process of building their new home in Gainesville. He says it will look like a cross between a "Florida cracker" and a Japanese home. Terry and his wife, Dorothy, go to all of the U. of Fla. home games in Gainesville and says it will be nicer to have a "home" base when the house is built. Terry is still a lawyer in Tampa/St. Petersburg area but his real love is being the Chairman of the Tampa Bay Skeptics. They expose psychics and faith-healers, and hunt down UFO hoaxes. Terry has written several articles which have appeared in the Tampa Tribune regarding this subject and appears on local radio and television shows.

KRIS STRAND MEYER sent me beautiful pictures of her two granddaughters: ASHLEY and SHERIDAN. Sheridan was born June 8, 1994. Also, Kris, thanks for the newspaper articles. Reading the articles always keeps me up-to-date on the famous/infamous Ro-Hawks. Kris traveled a little this summer, going to Sacramento to help with the delivery of Sheridan and then a trip up north. Kris' Dad had triple by-pass surgery on the first of August and it was a success and he is recuperating nicely. Mom Strand keeps on going, and going and going .....

BILL FITZPATRICK is back at Offut in Omaha, Nebraska. He is back from Saudi and is taking some Master's courses. We are hoping to see Bill at the Reunion.
ANN DORMAN WEDDLE's son Tres graduated from high school this year! Husband Randy is still working for the Red Cross. The Red Cross has really been busy lately. We really need to dig down in our pockets and contribute to the Red Cross for always being there. I am looking forward to seeing Ann and Randy at the Reunion.

JACK WILLIAMS writes from Dallas. He is working for Wyndham and is Senior Vice President of Marketing. Wyndham is part of the Trammell Crow group of companies and includes Wyndham Hotels. He is still single and has continued his involvement in the Romanian orphanages and works with children that are affected with HIV and AIDS. He has a son, T.J. who is a Freshman at A&M and his daughter, Stefani is a senior at Newman Smith HS in Carrollton, TX and will go to SW TX U in San Marcos.

JANET WATKINS JENDRON has sent her first born off to college. Kathleen is attending William and Mary (where Bob and her went). Janet has started working for the Assistive Technology Project for Vocational Rehabilitation. She is still active in LLL and on the Board of Directors. Janet tells me that she called CAROL HINES HOFFMAN while in Austin. Carol's daughter NICCI is at Texas U. Carol wanted to know if anyone had extra year books. Her senior one ('65) got lost in a flood. You know, Judy Minor asked about lost year books too - would anyone know where we can get duplicates or would the school have any? Someone research that for me. OK. Anyway, Janet and family are fine and they plan to come to the Reunion. Thanks for the newspaper articles.

BIG NEWS..... BRUCE CANNON, 1966 Graduate from RHS has returned to RHS as its new Principal!! After graduating from RHS, where Bruce was All-District and named to the All-State team (football) his junior year, Bruce attended the University of Texas at Austin where his emphasis was still on playing football under Darrell Royal. He graduated with a BA in government. He began teaching at Roosevelt High where he began coaching. He joined the Randolph faculty in 1978. He coached under the legendary, Coach Bob Mickler. Bruce was named principal of RHS middle School in 1988 and of the high school in 1993. In 1986 he earned his master's in science and education with an administrative certificate from Texas A &I. He has been married since 1975 and he and his wife, Susie, have two children, Bruce, 14 and Laura, 12.

RO-HAWK WALKS IN SPACE - well, that's not what the evening news said or any of the newspaper headlines, however, it is true. CARL MEADE - Class of 1968 - actually WALKED IN SPACE on September 16, 1964. The launch of his spacecraft Discovery was watched by millions, including my father, BILL CAMPBELL, my son, KELLY GALLAGHER and me. My father drove down to Cape Canaveral from Somerset, KY and me and Kelly and a friend of his drove up to the Cape from Delray Beach, Florida. We met my father at a pre-arranged spot right on time. After a two-hour delay - the Shuttle was launched into a beautiful blue sky. To actually be there and see the boosters fall away from the spacecraft and see the shuttle disappear downrange is exciting to say the least. We waited 6 hours in the heat and humidity, with a lightening storm passing overhead, all for a few minutes of awesome (strength, beauty - can't put in words) - - 2 hour delay - 9 minute hold - then lift off! On the day Carl walked in Space I called my good friends NANCY OLSEN GIAMBALVO and ANN DORMAN WEDDLE to tell them that he was walking in space that very moment. (it was a band thing). I thank Cad for giving us the opportunity to again attend a launch. The last one was overcast and we didn't see much (except for lift-off) This one was just magnificent. Thank you Carl - Can I have your autograph?

THANK YOU FOR THE DONATIONS: HAYNES BAUMGARDNER, MIKE FAUSETT, JUDY MINOR VILLARI, MRS. RUBY FITZPATRICK, BONNIE REED GALLOGLY, and BILL BORELLIS. If I missed your name, I'm sorry. I appreciate everyone's help in any way, shape or form. I cannot thank you enough .... the only thing I can say is THANK YOU.
