Merry Christmas - Happy New Year!!My Dear Dear Friends.....I hope you all had a good year. I certainly did - thanks to all of you, my family and my "other" friends. In July my husband gave me a surprise 50th birthday party and lots of my friends came by to help celebrate. Also a lot of you RoHawks sent gifts and cards welcoming me to the Golden Years. I have a hard time believing that I'm 50 years old and I'm a grandmother of five with another grandchild on the way!! Geez, wasn't it yesterday that I was walking down the halls of RHS working my way to senior English class with Mr. Posey?My family is doing well. We are still here in South Florida - our son, Kelly, is 15 - he surfs and bugs me to take him driving all the time since he got his learner's permit. Do you know how scary it is to drive here - especially with a 15 year old at the wheel? Kelly is a sophomore in High School now and on his way to graduating with the Class of 2000. Dan's been working/golfing/fishing/boating and we have both learned how to roller blade. Danny's much better than me - mostly, he just pulls me along. (I need "slower" skates). I still work for an attorney in Boca Raton, Florida as a paralegal and Danny works for a car dealership in West Palm Beach.The Pechuls progeny are still multiplying - My daughter Allison (28) is having another baby in April, 1998. That will be 4 kids for her!! My son, Mark (27) is in the Air Force and stationed at Hurlburt Field in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida (Eglin AFB). My other son, Kyle (27), is working as a kitchen manager at a local restaurant - he and his wife have two boys. They are all doing well and they are ALL healthy.My parents, Bill and Fran Campbell continue to do well. Mom had orthoscopic knee surgery in July and has bounced back like a teenager! My father is active in the American Legion in the small Kentucky town (Somerset) they live in - they do military funerals, among other things. (A really upbeat past time). I visited them in July with my oldest Grandson, Stephen in August and then again by myself in October. It's nice to go home and just be a daughter. My dad owns a 1990 Honda Goldwing SE. (This is his 5th bike). He turns 79 in December and still loves to ride. He is a member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association and attends rallies when he can. He also recently received his 50 year certificate and pin as a Scottish Rite Mason.I've been working really hard on the new Ro-Hawk Web Page - I hope you can all check it out and enjoy it. If you send me pictures I will scan them and place them in the page (if you don't send pictures I'll start digging in my photo albums or old annuals - you wouldn't want your senior class picture to be in there would you?) - even if you do not have a computer - I will still be able to enter your pictures or any comments you want to share with other Ro-Hawks. NOTES FROM ALL OVERWARD BEIGHTOL (DGBD39A@PRODIGY.COM) - Ward lives in Summerville, South Carolina and is the Inspector General at Charleston AFB. He flies C-141s. Son, James graduated from high school in June and his daughter, Elizabeth, is in 8th grade. Ward invites all the Ro-Hawks to come and visit him in Charleston - he'll be the tour guide.BILL BORELLIS (BBORELLIS@aol.com) - lives in Woodland Hills, CA (near Los Angeles) and still has his own insurance and consulting business and works with the Los Angeles School District as a public relations consultant. He also coaches at his daughter's school A-Team Basketball team. Daughter, Jade, just finished her volleyball season and is a Junior in High School. Daughter, Rachel is in 8th grade and son Jared is in second grade and into Karate. (He is an Army Chaplain) - he is now the Chief of Officer Training - he supervises the section chiefs of the Chaplain Officer Basic and Advanced courses and he deals with marriage and family. He is stationed at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina. He and his wife, Alexa have two daughters, Marci and Leah and Leah has two children (a boy and a girl). Whizzy recently purchased a 1997 Honda Valkyrie motorcycle. He is a member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association and in May he went to Washington DC for Rolling Thunder for POW/MIA's and also rode the Blueridge Parkway and several other long trips and shorts trips just to feel the wind on his face and take in the sights and sounds. Fred is already planning for the Superbowl and hoping the Cowboys get their act together. Yeah right... He's still a real estate broker and also teaches concealed handgun classes ("arming America for the revolution"). My brother has also lost 60 pounds lately - good going Fred.JACKIE DARLING ANDERSON and JEFF ANDERSON still live in Colorado Springs, Co. Jeff surprised Jackie with a birthday get together in March of this year with lots of surprises. Jackie's mom, JANE DARLING, lives in Colorado Springs as well and has a part time job, and she is active in the Society of military widows Chapter and she participates with the local volksmarch walking club. She has finished walking in all 50 states and according to her last letter, she was headed to walk in Europe - France, Spain and Portugal, in May.EARL DODGION (dodgion@rmii.com) - Lives in Alamosa, CO. He's been married to Myrna for 19 years. They have two sons, Troy (17) and Blaine (14). Myrna is a teacher and Earl is a dentist and owns his own dental practice. He just finished building a new building for his practice. Whatever.... She works for the school system and works damn hard too!!! Daughter, Mandy, is trying out her wings since she graduated from college. Her son, Tres, has a good job with Starbucks as an assistant manager. Ann's husband Randy still works for the Red Cross - God Bless you Randy. Jimmy is still in the lumber business and his wife works for Victoria's Secret. They own a 28' Bayliner cabin cruiser and they boat on Lake Erie.BILL FITZPATRICK (B52BILLY@aol.com) Bill has retired from the Air Force, has been divorced for 3 years and is living in Omaha, Nebraska. He is a marriage and family therapist.JANET FRANCIS JEWETT (jjnurse@hctc.net) Now lives in Comfort, TX and works for a home health agency and works as a visiting nurse. She is also doing marketing for a telecommunication company as well as for a long-term acute care-rehab hospital and travels quite a bit in and around south Texas. Janet's two boys, John and Jimmy live in Houston. John is married and has two children.DOUG GREENLEAF (74627.2770@CompuServe.com) or (DJG@MFG1.TRACOR.COM) - lives in Austin, TX. Doug and his dad and have been on a couple of very memorable vacations to date, and they are planning another trip to Virgin Gorda around Christmas time to spend a week sailing and snorkeling at the Bitter End Resort, then on to Sacramento, California to finish out their vacation. Doug joined his Dad at his dad's 60TH HIGH SCHOOL REUNION in Hamden, Connecticut (outside New Haven) in September. They toured through Massachusetts and Connecticut walking down memory lane visiting places his dad hadn't been to in 50 years. Doug recently bought a 1998 Harley-Davidson Dyna Glide and has been riding every weekend that the weather has permitted through the Texas Hill country. Just a couple of weeks ago he and a bunch of his friends rode from Austin to Wimberly, around Canyon Lake and along the Guadalupe River to highway 46 and 16 which eventually took them to Bandera, Medina, Kerrville, Fredericksburg, Luckenbach, Johnson City, and back to Austin. 350 mile ride! I heard a rumor that not one of her students have stood on their head in class yet. Someone should know the significance in that comment!!JOHN HINES: (hines57@austin360.com) John is living in Austin and he's been busy taking college classes (I love a college man!). He's working on both an associates degree in code welding and art metals and he's getting more and more familiar with his computer. John and I have been reminiscing about our semester at San Antonio Jr. College, more specifically our car pool with Lee Withers and Jim Peck. Scary thoughts, but fond memories. Their daughter, Nicole, graduated from the University of Texas last year and works for Texas Monthly Magazine.BONNIE HORNE McKEEVER (NANDOUF@aol.com) - Bonnie lives in Tulsa, OK. Her son, Matt, is building her a computer from used spare parts. She wants you to know that you can reach her at this e-mail address which belongs to her son - she will notify us of her new address when she gets one of her own. Bonnie is still working at the CPA firm where she has been for the last 5 years.SUSAN LIVINGSTON JOHNSON - Sue recently was divorced and moved permanently to Paxton, Nebraska. She is hoping to purchase a home soon.PAT MANGANELLO FALES - dfales@ix.netcom.com - Pat still lives and operates her booming real estate business in Fairfax, Virginia. Pat and her company (REMAX Elite Properties) has had terrific success.LYNN MILLS (our "Miss Kosh") (lmills@flash.net) - still teaching math at Wedgewood Middle School. This is her 29th year of teaching. She also teaches a computer science course two evenings a week at TCU in Ft. Worth. She also working on spifing up her home with new carpet and paint; her two older daughters got married this year so needless to say, she's been sorta busy.... Congratulations! Her youngest daughter is at UT in Austin and is majoring in German and French and also doing some modeling.CAROLE McRAE RICHARDS (richardc@usaa.com) Carole is still working at USAA and lives in San Antonio. She has one daughter, Laura, who also lives in the San Antonio area and is a very creative hair stylist. Sandy's parents have had some health problems this past year but the MINORS are doing fine now and they live in Leesburg, Florida.. Check out Sandy's picture on the Ro-Hawk Web Page.JUDY MINOR VILLARI (Jvillari@aol.com) - Judy lives in Savannah, Ga - although she has almost a second citizenship in Rock Hill, South Carolina where her son and his wife live AND THEIR NEW BABY BOY, Judy's first grandchild, ALEXANDER JOSEPH. Congratulations to you and your family. This is the first baby born into the family since Judy's son, Todd was born 29 years ago. Judy went up to a high school reunion in Alexandria this year (she graduated there in 1966) and spent some time with TERESA deARZA CUSHING. They stayed up all night and talked. You can see Judy and her grandson on the RO-HAWK Web Page.SHARON MOORHEAD WOODS lives in Lynchburg, VA. She works at the School of Business and government at Liberty University. Her daughter, Alexis now lives in Tallahassee, Florida and is a Manager at The Buffalo Connection restaurant. Sharon lives near her parents who she reports still play golf (and why not, my dad rides a motorcycle)!!!ART NIGRO - Art is still in Sydney, Australia - at the ANA HOTEL SYDNEY - they are hoping to be there through the Olympics in 2000. Their daughter graduated from Bucknell in May and their son Chris is an architect in Chicago.RICK & KATHY NORTON (rdnorton@mymail.net) Rick and Kathy have been married 26 years. They have three sons, Chris (25), Matt (22) and Ben (20). Kathy has a masters in Communication Disorders and works as a Speech Language Pathologist. Rick is a regional Manager for Burns & McDonnell Engineering Co. He specializes in providing engineering and consulting services to the electric utility industry. Mike currently resides in San Antonio and is working with the U.S. Postal Service. From high school he attended Texas Lutheran college in Seguin and then entered the Air Force in 1969 and retired in 1990 after 21 years. He married his wife, Joyce, in 1970. Joyce is from Karnes City, TX and graduated from Karnes City High School. They have two daughters: Christina, 21, attending the U of Texas in San Antonio, and Samantha, 10, who attends Crestview Elementary in San Antonio. They have two children, Susan who got her driver's license recently and son, Richard is at college at University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton.NEWS FLASH!!! - RICK ROBINSON (RFRobinson@compuserve.com) is alive and well and living in Fayettville, AK. He's been married to his wife, Linda, for 31 (in March) years. Rick is the Director of the VA hospital in Fayetteville. Rick went to Baylor and got a Degree in Hospital Administration. He was a Capt. In the Army and was stationed in Korea. They have 4 kids: Amy is 28 and a Capt. In the Air Force at the US Space Command, Colorado Springs; Rebecca is 24 and is working on her Masters at the University of Arkansas; Matthew is 21 and is a Senior at the Univ. Of Ark.; and Nathan is 19 and a Soph. At Colorado Tech. In Colorado Springs. Rick also likes woodworking and furniture building. We "found" Rick through searching the Internet. He was surprised to find that he was "missing".TOM ROGERS (tomr@sirsi.com) Tom retired from the Army in 1992 and worked for a systems integrator for a few years, and presently he works for SIRSI Corporation (library automation). He has a new passion for ice hockey. He has been playing in an over 40 league. They just moved to a place where they keep some horses and a tractor. His wife, Sandy, is a math and computer lab manager for Trinity Christian School. They have a son, Ben, who is 14 and a daughter, Laura, who is 11. Gail traveled to England, Wales and Scotland from November 3rd to December 3rd. This was her 50th birthday present from her family. Gail has also been doing some marketing and promoting for her niece who recently put out her 3rd CD. Terry's law firm is merging with another law firm and the merger should be finalized by the end of this year and will be the 8th largest firm in the Tampa Bay area. Terry and his wife, Dorothy, frequently travel over to Gainesville to their property by the lake to commune with nature and go to University of Florida football games. Terry sent me an audio tape for my birthday that was just a "scream". He pretended to be Ricki Ware the DJ at old KTSA and he played some of the old songs we used to listen to and made references to things we all did back then. It brought smiles and tears, thanks again Terry for the wonderful and thoughtful gift. Kris is busy raising her son, Justin who is 13 and her granddaughter, Ashley who is 4 years old and also her daughter, Lauren. She also has another granddaughter who is 3 named Sheridan. Sheridan lives with her mom and dad, Kris' daughter, Melissa and her husband in California.CAROL TURNIPSEED HABERLE (TYR28480@tyler.net) - Carol's daughter, May, graduated from UMASS Dartmouth in June with a Master of Fine Arts degree. Sam. I'm sure you join me in sending Janet and the rest of her family your prayers and condolences. Janet and her family still live in Columbia, SC.
