merry christmas and happy new year!
Hello from Florida! We hope this year has been good for you all. We've had an interesting year. The outcome has been very good. My son, Kelly, 13, is now taller than me (not saying too much) but anyway, he's doing well - Danny is now the General Manager at a used car dealership in Lake Worth, Florida. (It's up the road a piece). He's been there for 2 weeks. He worked there last year and he was asked to return as GM. The lawyer I work for decided to rejoin the attorneys he previously worked with in their new firm - so we moved back across town to a new office in September. It's nice to be in a larger office again. Danny and I continue to do well and we are basically physically healthy - although our mental health is questionable!
My other children are well. Allison and her family are doing fine in Jacksonville. We have visited with each other several times since they moved. In fact, we were there for Thanksgiving and they came here for Christmas. It was such a pleasure to see her two boys wake up and see the gifts under the tree - Stephen and Cole had a great Christmas - Allison and Marwin will have their first baby in May and they are hoping for a girl. This will be our 4th grandchild.
Mark still lives with Chuck and is working with him in Ft. Lauderdale. Kyle and Donna have moved to Boca Raton and are living with her parents with her son, Mike and their son, Dylan Kyle Pechuls (we've been calling him "Dill Pickle"). Little Dylan isn't so little anymore - he is 18 pounds and growing daily. He's a chubby little baby and real happy. He's 8 months old but because of his prematurity is 4 months behind in development. But he is as healthy as can be. Thank God! Kyle has decided on a career change and is going to school and working part time to become a hair stylist like his wife.
I guess the biggest event this month was that we finally got the sailfish that Dan caught last year. It took over a year to stuff and mount it! It's a beautiful 7-foot sailfish that we hung proudly on our TV room wall.
We just had a great Christmas Day - all the kids came over - also lots of friends dropped in all during the day. Unfortunately - the power went off at 8 am - about the time I put the turkey in the oven - I already had a ham - but I knew it wouldn't feed everyone and not everyone liked ham - so we improvised by turning on the grill and cooking frozen chicken breasts. Also I wrapped some corn on the cob in foil and put them and a pot of baked beans on the grill. I opened some cans of pineapple and mandarin oranges and some fresh strawberries and put all that in a bowl - had some heat and serve rolls (that I didn't heat) - some chips and dip and lots of pie - It worked and we had a great dinner - it was a little cold (unbelievably it was 35 or 40 degrees here in So. Florida that day) that's why the power was off - everyone got up and turned on their heaters at the same time! The power came on about 1:30 PM - my turkey was done about 4 - however, all out guests had left. So please come to visit me and I will fill you with big turkey sandwiches!
