Dear Ro-Hawks:
A lot has happened since June 2000 when we had the last Reunion. I have been really busy and I have to apologize to you for not writing sooner. I hope I can remember to fill you in on all that has happened in the last year and a half.
First of all, you will see enclosed in this package is an email from Mark Chauret – Class of ’73 – regarding renaming the Randolph High School Football Stadium to Robert Mickler Memorial Stadium. I’m sure you will find the email interesting and you will want to be part of this effort.
My parents (Bill and Fran Campbell) moved to Air Force Village I near Lackland AFB in April 2001 – they sold their house in Somerset, Kentucky (a house my mom bought with her parents in the early 40’s) and moved south to Texas. They are living in a high rise condo and they are actually loving it. I am too because they have all the conveniences that they will ever need. I have been out there 3 times since then and I love that I can get to the San Antonio Airport and 15 minutes later I can be at their new home. In Kentucky, it took 2 ½ hours to get to their house from Lexington where I had to fly into. They can see Wilford Hall Hospital from their complex and don’t have to travel all the way to Lexington to get good medical care. Believe me – this is a blessing for all of us. Mom just turned 80 in June – she’s doing pretty good, but she has had some scary times with her blood pressure. Dad is doing great and still drives that motorcycle – he’ll be 83 this year in December. He is actually the only person in the “Village” that has a motorcycle and they created a special place for him to park his cycle. Danny and I went to Germany this May for our vacation – we visited Dusseldorf, Rothenberg, Garmisch, Heidelberg,Weisbaden and other places and castles in between. We boated down the Rhein – visited the Nuenswanstine Castle (Fairy Tale Castle) and the place where my family used to live in 1953-56 in Weisbaden. Danny got to see where his mom lived in Frankfurt – We spent 10 wonderful days traveling in our rented alfa romeo speeding down the autobahn at over 100 mph – picture that – I don’t even get on the expressway here!!!!
Danny’s son, David (26) just got married this past weekend in Austin toTiffany. They have a 7 month old daughter, Summer. This is Danny’s first biological granddaughter and we are so happy to see her again. My oldest, Allison (32), had her 5th child in December – A GIRL!!!!! Her name is Makenna – she was welcomed into the family by Stephen 11, Cole 9, Mason 5 and Chase 3 and proud Daddy, Marwin. Allison not only is a mom to her 5 kids, but she works as a church secretary and bookkeeper for the local chapter of the Gator Club and also coordinates the Sunday School teachers at her church. Son, Mark (31) and his wife, Chong Ok are now at Dover AFB and will be coming here in August on their way to their new assignment, Japan. They have a son, Alan Hanul who is 1 ½. Of course, Mark is in the Air Force and works in water treatment and plumbing. Kyle (31) and his wife, Donna live near here in Boca Raton – they have two boys, Dylan 6 and Tony 5. Kyle is an electrician. They are all doing wonderful.
Our youngest son, Kelly (19) received a full tuition scholarship to New England Institute of Technology in West Palm Beach in architectural drafting – he’s been working since he was 15 at local pizza restaurants. Today (7/17) he started his first “real” job in drafting. He will be working all day and then going to school at night. He’s excited and we are jumping for joy and we are so proud of him. I’m still working in Boca Raton as a legal secretary – Danny is working in West Palm Beach as a finance director at a BMW dealership. We have been busy renovating our home – after 20 years, it really needs it.
I’m sending this out fast and I know I will not be able to put EVERYTHING in this newsletter but I needed to tell you guys a few things. So enjoy this “mini” newsletter and be patient with me – I haven’t updated the web page – I really need to learn how to do it and stop relying on my ex-son in law to do it. It is getting way to complicated for me – but eventually, I will get it all together.

REUNION 2000
The Reunion was held in San Antonio during the weekend on June 23, 24, 25, 2000 – most of the activities were held at the Holiday Inn Select near the airport. We had a hospitality suite where we were able to met and greet and register. We had beer, wine, and sodas and snacks. Friday night we met at the Far West Rodeo where we talked danced and drank. Saturday night we had our dinner/dance at the hotel. We had a western BBQ – and a special ROHAWK cake. The DJ was outstanding – we played a special CD from Papa Clutch and the Shifters (David McDowell’s band). After the party some of us went to Jerry’s for a late night snack. Sunday morning we met back in the ballroom for a delicious brunch. It was really great to see:

Karen Poor Peck is still recouperating from a minor hernia operation she had 4 months ago – she has had major complications that still need medical care – but her upbeat spirit and personality has kept her going. Karen never says no to anyone and is always there when anyone needs help. Mr. Alfred “Fred” Aguirre has been in the hospital for several weeks. He just recently had to have his foot amputated due to diabetes. He also undergoes dialysis several times a week. † Merry Christmas - Happy New Year!! †
Dear Friends.....this has been some year - hasn't it? I can't believe it will be the year 2000 in just a few days. I'm starting off the new year with a new job at a new law firm. I was employed for 12 2 years at the previous one! Onward and upward - right??? In March my father had open heart surgery in Lexington, KY. While I was there taking care of my Mom and Dad - I got to have lunch with Gene Holt. Fortunately, my father has recuperated quite well and is back to riding the countryside on his motorcycle. My daughter, Allison turned 30 this year. Now she is officially older than I am! She and her husband just moved into a new home in Jacksonville with their 4 little boys. My son Mark was stationed in Korea in the Air Force and returned stateside via Hawaii with a lovely Korean wife, Chong Ok. They are now stationed in Dover, Delaware and are expecting a baby March 7th. In July, my husband, son and I flew to San Francisco. We drove south to Pebble Beach and Carmel - then over the state to Yosemite National Park. What a beautiful place! We then drove to Lake Tahoe, then north to Chico - where I visited with an elementary school girlfriend of mine - then we went west to Ft. Bragg and Mendocino. From there we drove south along the Pacific Coast Highway finally ending up back in San Francisco where we spent the last 2 days of our week's vacation. Whew! I got to speak on the phone with David McDowell (who had just re-married) while we were in Lake Tahoe (he lives in Reno) and I talked with Gary Erickson while in San Francisco. My mom had her left knee replaced in July. She's doing OK and hopefully she'll be able to get up and around soon without any problems. We visited Mom and Dad for Labor Day and for Thanksgiving - Mom baked some goodies which are always welcome by me - especially her special pralines! Danny and I had our 21st anniversary in September. Our son, Kelly, is a Senior in High School and will graduate in May 2000. He will be going to Cancun for his Senior Trip! What's up with that? Last, but not least, my other son, Kyle and his wife just celebrated their 5th anniversary and both their little boys are healthy and very, very active. I hope you all have a fantastic Christmas Holiday and a Great New Year's Eve.
I don't know if we will have a Reunion in 2000- it depends on you. I don't think I will have any time off before June anyway with my new job - but anyone who wants the job of putting this together - contact Carole McRae Richards, Janet Francis Jewett and/or Karen Poor Peck. Their e-mail addresses are further on down in the newsletter. Your involvement will be greatly appreciated. Otherwise, keep me posted on what is going on with you. JEFF & JACKIE ANDERSON Representing the Classes of '63 and '64) janderson@sprynet.com Jackie's Mom, Jane Darling is still walking all over the place. Among the places she walked this year was The Garden of the Gods in Colorado, England and Scotland. Jeff and Jackie still live in Round Hill, Virginia and send everyone their best wishes and love.
JERRY & CALLA GIBSON BALL - Representing the Class of '65 & '67 Jcrsdj@aol.com Jerry retired in March 1999 from the Air Force. He moved his family to Fairfax, VA and is working as a "policy analyst" in the Washington office of the RAND Corporation - a public policy think tank.
MARK H. BASTIAN - Class of '65 - now living in Anchorage, Alaska and is working with the Immigration Service managing the Application Support Center for the State of Alaska. This program deals primarily with fingerprinting in support of INS applications. Mark says he'll never complain about the weather again!!!
RON BERGQUIST - Class of '64 thepond@earthlink.net and bergr@ils.unc.edu Ron and his wife, Dru live in Pinebluff, NC. UNC Ron is in the PhD program at UNC in information science. "I am in the throes of trying to finish my masters paper by the middle of the month without simultaneously blowing the other courses I'm taking. Dru built us a new homepage to replace my pathetic one at school. I'm still plugging away in the doctoral program, trying to prepare a paper for publication and working to focus in on my research topic. I am continuing to be a research assistant on a computer supported collaborative work project involving physicists, chemists, medical researchers, and computer scientists. This project will last until at least 2001, so I guess that's what I'll be doing until then."
GUY BLAIR - Class of '65 guy.blair@intel.com Guy and Martha live in Beaverton, OR. Guy and family enjoyed a 7 day cruise out of San Juan in May and visited the islands in the Bahamas. Guy works at Intel and reports that his lab is working on Children's PC-enhanced games and they are working with Mattel and others on Christmas '99 products and beyond.
BILL BORELLIS - Class of '64 BBORELLIS@aol.com 1/22/99 Bill has recently moved to Pacific Palisades, CA. Congratulations to Bill - he picked up a Master of Business Ad. In Technology management from the U of Phoenix. His daughter, "Jade has been accepted to California State Univ. at Northridge and hasn't heard yet from her first pick, San Diego State. She has been enjoying her last year at Louisville H.S. Rachel is very active with basketball. I, of course, help out with the coaching chores. It is a pretty good thing for me, but time consuming, as you know. Rachel is trying to get into Louisville - she is really a live wire and very unpredictable! But cute and very warm. Moody though! Jared is trudging through 3rd grade. ... he is extremely bright and worldly (street sense). He's also an outstanding athlete. My teaching is going well. I teach 3 classes a day: split shift ... 9‑10AM, 1‑2PM and 7‑8PM...what a day! In between I pick up Jared & Rachel from school; study for my own schooling and maintain my book of clients (consulting & insurance). That's about it.... Oh Christmas (1998) at Sherry's house was neat and wonderful. Only one mishap in that Dad suffered a small heart attack while he was gambling at the Mirage. He spent a few days in the hospital in Las Vegas. Seems to be relatively OK now and is back in SA. Everything is pretty neat these days. I have moved - Our house is about 2 miles from the beach on the West side of the Santa Monica Mountains; about 4 miles from both Malibu and Santa Monica.
BILL AWHIZZY@ BROOME - Class of '65 (WK: mailto:william.broome@cmtymail.26asg.army.mil HM: whizlex@hotmail.com Alexa and Whiz moved to Heidelberg, Germany this year, where Whizzy is the assignments and personnel officer for the Chaplains in Europe (he=s an Army Chaplain). He travels to different posts throughout Europe. He has also travelled stateside, especially back to Randolph and visited with John Hines and Ed Kilford in Austin. Whizzy's wife, Alexa has her Personal Trainer's Certification now and is training clients.
BILL CLEMMONS - Class of '65 (didn't graduate from RHS) wsclemmons@hot1.net "I am divorced for nine years now after being married for twenty‑two years and have one son named Garrett (16). We got married while at Texas Tech. We were both psychology majors. I was riding bareback in the Tech rodeo club and she convinced me we should hook up. I was enrolled in the AFROTC at Tech and had never planned for any thing other than being an jet jockey, fighter type that is....my second senior year the AF noticed that there was no record of my eye exam. Well, that eye exam found me with 20/45 and acute astigmatism. NO WAY they said. Vietnam was going wild and I was tired of school and had never planned on being a Psychologist so I went back to the steel shop were I had been working to put myself through Tech. We moved to Northern Va. and Katie went to work for the gov. (DOD). We moved to Manassas, Va. and spent the next fifteen years or so working. I went to work as an ironworker erecting structural and welding and became the foreman and then stated my own company.. I ran that about 10 yrs. and then yielded to the constant pressure to move home(Texas). We finally sold the house, closed down the business and moved to Waco and we lasted another few yrs. Now I live in the big town of Valley Mills which is about 25 miles NW of Waco. I bought an old run down industrial plant in Waco . My dad always wanted to run his own business so now he and I use the place togather and I contract a lot of his work".
TERESA DeARZA CUSHING Class of '66 Cushing.teresa@epa.gov Jan 15, 1999 - Hi Gloria, You are to be applauded for all your good work and tenacity to keep this going all these years. You did not receive a Xmas card from me this year because I did not send one (not even one) to anyone. It has been such a busy year for us, we worked all during the holidays except the actual holiday and I just returned today from a two week executive course in Sheppardstown, West Virginia. Just to let you know there are five of us Rohawks meeting in San Antonio the second week in June. I have worked with Judy Minor to get this going (she did most of the work), I just helped her track down two of the people. Anyway, Carole O'Brien, Judy Minor, Jill Anderson, and Jodie Hargus and myself are spending four days together on the San Antonio River. It has been over 30 years since any of us have seen Jill and Jody so we are really excited. Jodie actually lived in Vegas the whole time I was there and I never had a clue. All is fine here. Pat Manganello (Fales), Jan Ownbey (Link) and I still try and get together as often as possible. CONGRATULATIONS to Teresa and Geoff - they will be getting married in Las Vegas on January 1, 2000! Also, her son, Jason is getting married on January 14th.
ROB DeMOTTA Class of 65 RobD2447@aol.com Rob lives in Killeen, Texas, and is in the process of moving to Lake Travis in Austin, Texas. Rob has been in the car business for the last 20yrs. Rob is co‑owner of Cleo Bay Honda, Cleo Bay Used Cars Inc., and Hertz Rental Cars located in Killeen. Rob has a 17‑year‑old son, Chad, is a senior at Georgetown High School. His son also works at the dealership learning the car business. Rob enjoys his free time spending the weekend on his boat on Lake Travis.
KEN DEVERS - Class of '64 - Ken lives in Colorado. Ken took an early (USAA) retirement package in August - his first action was to make a list of Big, Medium and Little projects to do. So far, he's painted the house in 12" of snow. He is also doing a restoration job on a 1970 Mustang. Ken and wife, Trudy also traveled some this year and skiied several times and went up to Mesa Verde National Park and to Rendevous for camping.Both daughters, Bridget and Audra have moved out and are on their own. Ken has also taken up painting (on canvas).
EARL DODGION - Class of '63 dodgion@amigo.net Earl lives in South Fork, Colorado. His son Troy graduated from high school in May and is going to the University of Colorado in Boulder. His dental office has been busy. Unfortunately, Earl tore his rotater cuff in his shoulder chasing his son down a slalom course last spring and he'll have surgery.
LINDA EDGARIAN DENHAM 1/18/99 DEFTED@aol.com "I had met a fabulous fellow in 1966 ‑ 1968 at RAFB while I was singing with a folk song group in the building next to Chapel One. Earl Denham was a one man singing act there at the time. To make a very long story short, he left for the Vietnam War that was going on, and we lost contact for 30 years. In the summer of 1997, he told me that he had loved me for 30 years and he had been looking for me for years, and he finally found me on a computer one summer night while he was typing the final exam for a college course he was teaching ! He thought I was still married, (from when he had found out about me before), so he had a friend call me to find if it would be OK if he called to just find out if I was happy. We found that we both were divorced in 1995, that we both have two children about the same ages, (and the other countless similarities and unique happenings boggle the mind) and that we still had everything in common, as if the 30 years had been a blink of an eye. We are very happily married and have been so for a year and a half. When he found me, he had retired from the Air Force as a Major, and was working for the National Petroleum Refiners Assoc. in Wash, D.C. and living in VA. I lived in Austin, Tx. where I had been a school teacher for 25 years. He was in the process of taking the job to run the Fuel System for O'Hare International Airport in Chicago when we met again and got married, so Chicago is where we are at this time."
GARY ERICKSON - Class of '64 LOGOMORPH@aol.com Gary and his significant other, Rose, went to Utah where they launched their kayaks into the Green River and followed it for sixty five miles over a period of four days and ended up in Cody, Wyoming. They returned home through Yellowstone, into Idaho and Nevada and back to San Francisco.
MIKE FAUSETT - Class of '65 - Mike and his wife Diana were on the move again last year. They took their daughter, Shannon and her husband for a week in Maui. His group of guys went to Canada again for their annual fishing trip and are set to go again July 4th. You can see a picture of Mike and an anonomous fish on the web page.
MIKE FITZPATRICK: As some of you already know, Mike passed away in September in Los Angeles. I'm sure you join me in sending your sympathies to his family, Wife, Denise Etchemendy Fitzpatrick and their children, Billy 28, Teddy 25, Shannon 19 and John 15. Also, our prayers are with his brother, Bill and mom and dad Bill and Ruby Fitzpatrick.
JANET FRANCIS Class of '64 Jjewett@pdq.net Janet's moved back down to Houston - now she is closer to her sons and her grandbabies.
BONNIE HORNE McKEEVER - Class of '64 bonniem@ttsscpa.com Bonnie lives in Tulsa, OK. "Thought I would let you know I survived the "busy season" and actually thrived. Of course all I did was work seven days a week and nothing else got done. The night the tornadoes hit Okla City was a real thrill in Tulsa too. Our tornado was much smaller in intensity. Spent most of the night with the sirens going off and in my powder room on ground floor. I visited my dad in Norman last month and got a look at some of the damage. You couldn't tell what the buildings had been. Actually most of the area was just leveled. Nothing but streets and driveways. It did resemble the bomb site in many ways. My youngest, Paul, will be starting law school in Wyoming in the fall. Guess he just loves being poor and in debt!! His brother, Matt, is still here in Tulsa and takes good care of his mom. He's a nurse technician and works at St. Francis Hospital with the neurology department. My oldest, John, works for Gill Industries in Grand Rapids, MI as the IS person. He says he's the computer guy! You can imagine his distress at me not having a home computer, but I'm working on it as quickly as I can. Now if he and Amy would just get busy and have me some babies .......!!"
GENE HOLT - while I was visiting with Gene in Lexington earlier this year, I discovered that he had suffered a heart attack. He is doing well now. There are pictures posted on the web page of Gene and me.
KAREN KNOX -Class of '64 aqc3@msn.com Karen's son Joel is at Oral Roberts for Premed this year.
SUSAN LIVINGSTON JOHNSON - Class of >64 marykayangel@bwn.net and the web pages is: http://www.mkinet.com/14/sjohnson10.html Sue lives in Leadville, Colorado in a historic home built in 1888. Daughter, Amy became a flight attendant with United and is based in Denver. Her son, Mike is studying computer science and astro-physics at CU-Boulder. Sue has 20 months in with Mary Kay Skin Care and Cosmetics. She is doing this full time now and achieved Queen's Court of Sales and received a diamond ring at the seminar in Dallas this year. Her home has also been chosen to be in the Christmas Victorian Home Tour this year.
PAT MANGANELLO FALES - Class of '66 dfales@ix.netcom.com pat@patfales.com "Life is good in the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC...in spite of the antics going on in congress at the moment! We have a new grandson, Dylan Patrick, who is almost 8 months old. He has everyone wrapped around his little finger already! He lives in Richmond with his parents, our son and daughter in law, so he is only about an hour and a half from us. We go down to visit as often as we can...but it is never enough. Life in real estate keeps me busy. I now have a staff of 5 who work with me to take care of the administrative end so, even though we are doing a substantial amount more business, I am not totally crazed. I still love it ‑ every day is a new challenge. Can't imagine doing anything else."
DAVID McDOWELL - Class of '65 Clutchpapa@aol.com David lives in Reno, Nevada. He recently was remarried to Dianne - whom he met on the Internet! Their wedding pictures should be on our RHS Home Page. "Just wondering about the next big one coming up... 35 years... any plans yet?? Also ‑ just bought a new house recently in Reno"
CAROLE McRAE RICHARDS - Class of '64 carole.richards@usaa.com Carole lives in San Antonio and works for USAA Insurance. "The Reunion. Karen and I have been working on it when time permits. The first place we wanted to have the Reunion at fell through simply because of the huge cost of having it there. Tentative plans as they stand now are to have a simple dinner on Saturday night downtown on the river at one of the hotels or restaurants. That way after dinner and the business meeting, everyone can go and do their own thing. Friday night we thought we'd all meet up at a place called the Far West Rodeo for drinks, dancing, talking, etc. (We've lost our contacts at the base so we can't meet at the Officer's Club anymore) If the guys want to play golf, maybe they ( Mike Wysong, Tom Madsen, Jeff Lindley) can arrange something. We'll have more definitive information after the middle of January. "My daughter Laura is pregnant and due to deliver on or around December 27th. So my plane leaves here on January 3rd and I return to S.A. on January 16th. I'm looking forward to the trip. The sonograms show the baby to be a girl, so you know Mom and I are tickled PINK!! Of course, I've had to stop myself from buying everything I see. However, I have done some serious damage to my budget. Oh well, you only live once so might as well enjoy it while you can. My boss retired on October 29th and they gave me two new bosses to do the work of the old one. On top of that, they decided that we needed to move to consolidate everyone together, so this past week‑end we moved 50 feet (a chinese firedrill) and had to pack and then unpack. What fun!!! As of today, I'm finally unpacked and settled in kinda‑sorta. It will get better. Haven't found another position yet. Will have to delay my search until after I return from California. I know the right thing will come along at the right time., it always does. Mom and Dad are fine. Fat and sassy as ever. Both are excited about the new great‑grandbaby. All in all things here are fine, hectic but fine."

Art is hoping to retire soon from the hotel business and move to Virginia and do some hotel consulting. Their daughter is engaged!
JUDY (O'NEILL) WOODRUFF (Class '64) SopRBronco@aol.com This year, I have joined the list of "empty nesters" and am loving every minute of it. They are always home‑‑so don't think you are ever truly an empty nester. Amy, 27, is now in cosmetoloy school and has two children‑‑Kayla, 7 and Christian, 3. Stacy, 20, is a junior at CU majoring in three biologies which I can't even pronounce. Future plans are vet school and Krissy, my youngest, now 18 is going to the University of Northern Colorado hoping to transfer to Colorado State Univeristy next year to be a part of the equestrian team. I think her major is "party". She is the horse lover and I am sure will always be. As for me, I am still in Franktown, south of Denver, on my little farm with 5 dogs and 5 cats and my tractor and still single. I ventured into the world of real estate and love it. This is a great location and the market is great. People are looking to escape from the city and enjoy the peace and quiet of country living. I am a big BRONCOS fan and got season tickets about 9 years ago. I blame the Ro‑Hawks for turning me into a football fanatic. Although, I don't know how you could live in Denver and not be a Bronco fan. I just started training for United and will have those wonderful benefits plus will have vacation time by then. Just let me know the week so I can bid the time. I am so excited with being back with the airlines. Have really missed the travel and atmosphere the airport brings. I am training for ticketing and gate agent. Have my schedule till December and can even go to six of the Bronco games. My PRIORITY!!! Have Nov and Dec with Sundays off. Girls are busy working this summer‑‑Krissy will be going to CSU next year and Stacy will graduate from CU. Can hardly believe that!!! I can't be getting that old.

PAM PRATT VILES - Class of '65 pviles@pdq.net "My elder daughter, Pippa, is getting married in August. He is a never‑married 32 year old Navy vet, whom the Marines are sending to law school. He graduates in May and takes the bar in July. Sometime after the wedding he goes to Quantico for six months and Rhode Island for three. Both are considered TDY assignments (although the Marines call it something different), so it is a bit unclear what Pippa will do during that time. After that he will join the Judge Advocate General's office, and she will be a military wife. As she is my stay close to home kid, this should be interesting. I find it difficult to understand her concerns, as I still think that when a light bulb burns out, it is time to pack. She, of course, grew up in the same house her whole life. Foreign concept to us, huh?????????" This past March, Pam and a few of her friends flew over to Sydney, Australia for a girls vacation. Luckily they stayed in the hotel that Art Nigro runs so they have an awesome time. Unfortunately, Pam lost her debit card to an ATM machine and got stuck in the hotel elevator. She had dinner with Art and his wife, Sheila.They stayed on the 24th floor with a spectacular view over the Harbour Bridge and the Opera house. Unfortunately, Gail's dear mom passed away on September 17 - she was 91 years old.

Kris has also provided me with relevant newspaper clippings from the Randolph AFB area. Thanks Kris. There is also a new picture of Ashley on the web page. Her youngest child, son, Justin is living in CA with his Dad. Ashley started kindergarten and is taking ballet and tap. Kris will be job hunting after Christmas, probably looking at something with a school. She, her kids and parents are all well and healthy.

She also helps send greetings to shut-ins for her church. Carol has been taking some new meds for her multiple sclerosis and has noticed some small improvements. Her daughter, May, has her "Master of Fine Arts" and wants to teach on the college level. Son, Fred is still in college.
MICHAEL WYSONG - Class of '63 mpwysong@gte.net Mike lives in San Antonio, Texas.- Mike had to have another knee operation earlier in the year. He's also restored his 1972 Mustang and is now working on his 1959 TR-3. Son Michael is at Northeastern University and is doing good and also playing baseball for the university.

I am divorced and have one son, Jeff, age 29, I have one granddaughter, Caitlyn, age 7. This has been a year of many "firsts" for me. I have gone scuba diviing sky diving and deep sea fishing. I also bought my dream car, a BMW 23 Roadster. I have been an insurance clains adjuster since graduation. I am presently employed as a TPA for Cambridge. I am currently residing in Allentown, PA. At one time, I also held licenses to see insurance of all types, as well as a stock broker license and realtor license. Jeff and I will be going to Baltimore for Christmas, since that is where my two brothers, two sisters and father reside."

Thanks, keep up the great work. "I went into the USAF for 3 2 years during the Viet Nam era, however, I was stationed at Randolph. I got out and went to college and became a CPA in Houston. ... My career has principally been in Real Estate Development, Insurance and Surety Bonding and some retail store ventures." I was told about your site by Kerry Becker. I know lots of work went into it but thanks from all of us RoHawks. There could not have been a better place to graduate from than Randolph. Living on the base and going to school there was like being in a dream bubble so to speak! We all rode our scooters around going to the base theatre for 15 cent movies etc., the base snack bar for 35 cent hamburgers, up to the top of the Taj Mahal and out to the golf course for fun and games (riding the golf carts for $2 for nine holes ( when we didn't even play golf) while on the way watching the aircraft taxi by. Oh how those were the real days! Unbelievable!!! I will forever cherish those times! Thanks again, Go RoHawk Football! I am living in beautiful North Scottsdale, Az now and own AmeriTrust Home Inspection Services Co. but will miss the old carefree days around the base forever!!! Dear Friends.....this has been some year - hasn't it? I can't believe it will be the year 2000 in just a few days. I'm starting off the new year with a new job at a new law firm. I was employed for 12 2 years at the previous one! Onward and upward - right??? In March my father had open heart surgery in Lexington, KY. While I was there taking care of my Mom and Dad - I got to have lunch with Gene Holt. Fortunately, my father has recuperated quite well and is back to riding the countryside on his motorcycle. My daughter, Allison turned 30 this year. Now she is officially older than I am! She and her husband just moved into a new home in Jacksonville with their 4 little boys. My son Mark was stationed in Korea in the Air Force and returned stateside via Hawaii with a lovely Korean wife, Chong Ok. They are now stationed in Dover, Delaware and are expecting a baby March 7th. In July, my husband, son and I flew to San Francisco. We drove south to Pebble Beach and Carmel - then over the state to Yosemite National Park. What a beautiful place! We then drove to Lake Tahoe, then north to Chico - where I visited with an elementary school girlfriend of mine - then we went west to Ft. Bragg and Mendocino. From there we drove south along the Pacific Coast Highway finally ending up back in San Francisco where we spent the last 2 days of our week's vacation. Whew! I got to speak on the phone with David McDowell (who had just re-married) while we were in Lake Tahoe (he lives in Reno) and I talked with Gary Erickson while in San Francisco. My mom had her left knee replaced in July. She's doing OK and hopefully she'll be able to get up and around soon without any problems. We visited Mom and Dad for Labor Day and for Thanksgiving - Mom baked some goodies which are always welcome by me - especially her special pralines! Danny and I had our 21st anniversary in September. Our son, Kelly, is a Senior in High School and will graduate in May 2000. He will be going to Cancun for his Senior Trip! What's up with that? Last, but not least, my other son, Kyle and his wife just celebrated their 5th anniversary and both their little boys are healthy and very, very active. I hope you all have a fantastic Christmas Holiday and a Great New Year's Eve.
I don't know if we will have a Reunion in 2000- it depends on you. I don't think I will have any time off before June anyway with my new job - but anyone who wants the job of putting this together - contact Carole McRae Richards, Janet Francis Jewett and/or Karen Poor Peck. Their e-mail addresses are further on down in the newsletter. Your involvement will be greatly appreciated. Otherwise, keep me posted on what is going on with you. Among the places she walked this year was The Garden of the Gods in Colorado, England and Scotland. Jeff and Jackie still live in Round Hill, Virginia and send everyone their best wishes and love.
JERRY & CALLA GIBSON BALL - Representing the Class of '65 & '67 Jcrsdj@aol.com Jerry retired in March 1999 from the Air Force. He moved his family to Fairfax, VA and is working as a "policy analyst" in the Washington office of the RAND Corporation - a public policy think tank.
MARK H. BASTIAN - Class of '65 - now living in Anchorage, Alaska and is working with the Immigration Service managing the Application Support Center for the State of Alaska. This program deals primarily with fingerprinting in support of INS applications. Mark says he'll never complain about the weather again!!!
RON BERGQUIST - Class of '64 thepond@earthlink.net and bergr@ils.unc.edu Ron and his wife, Dru live in Pinebluff, NC. UNC Ron is in the PhD program at UNC in information science. "I am in the throes of trying to finish my masters paper by the middle of the month without simultaneously blowing the other courses I'm taking. Dru built us a new homepage to replace my pathetic one at school. I'm still plugging away in the doctoral program, trying to prepare a paper for publication and working to focus in on my research topic. I am continuing to be a research assistant on a computer supported collaborative work project involving physicists, chemists, medical researchers, and computer scientists. This project will last until at least 2001, so I guess that's what I'll be doing until then."
GUY BLAIR - Class of '65 guy.blair@intel.com Guy and Martha live in Beaverton, OR. Guy and family enjoyed a 7 day cruise out of San Juan in May and visited the islands in the Bahamas. Guy works at Intel and reports that his lab is working on Children's PC-enhanced games and they are working with Mattel and others on Christmas '99 products and beyond.
BILL BORELLIS - Class of '64 BBORELLIS@aol.com 1/22/99 Bill has recently moved to Pacific Palisades, CA. Congratulations to Bill - he picked up a Master of Business Ad. In Technology management from the U of Phoenix. His daughter, "Jade has been accepted to California State Univ. at Northridge and hasn't heard yet from her first pick, San Diego State. She has been enjoying her last year at Louisville H.S. Rachel is very active with basketball. I, of course, help out with the coaching chores. It is a pretty good thing for me, but time consuming, as you know. Rachel is trying to get into Louisville - she is really a live wire and very unpredictable! But cute and very warm. Moody though! Jared is trudging through 3rd grade. ... he is extremely bright and worldly (street sense). He's also an outstanding athlete. My teaching is going well. I teach 3 classes a day: split shift ... 9‑10AM, 1‑2PM and 7‑8PM...what a day! In between I pick up Jared & Rachel from school; study for my own schooling and maintain my book of clients (consulting & insurance). That's about it.... Oh Christmas (1998) at Sherry's house was neat and wonderful. Only one mishap in that Dad suffered a small heart attack while he was gambling at the Mirage. He spent a few days in the hospital in Las Vegas. Seems to be relatively OK now and is back in SA. Everything is pretty neat these days. I have moved - Our house is about 2 miles from the beach on the West side of the Santa Monica Mountains; about 4 miles from both Malibu and Santa Monica.
BILL AWHIZZY@ BROOME - Class of '65 (WK: mailto:william.broome@cmtymail.26asg.army.mil HM: whizlex@hotmail.com Alexa and Whiz moved to Heidelberg, Germany this year, where Whizzy is the assignments and personnel officer for the Chaplains in Europe (he=s an Army Chaplain). He travels to different posts throughout Europe. He has also travelled stateside, especially back to Randolph and visited with John Hines and Ed Kilford in Austin. Whizzy's wife, Alexa has her Personal Trainer's Certification now and is training clients.
BILL CLEMMONS - Class of '65 (didn't graduate from RHS) wsclemmons@hot1.net "I am divorced for nine years now after being married for twenty‑two years and have one son named Garrett (16). We got married while at Texas Tech. We were both psychology majors. I was riding bareback in the Tech rodeo club and she convinced me we should hook up. I was enrolled in the AFROTC at Tech and had never planned for any thing other than being an jet jockey, fighter type that is....my second senior year the AF noticed that there was no record of my eye exam. Well, that eye exam found me with 20/45 and acute astigmatism. NO WAY they said. Vietnam was going wild and I was tired of school and had never planned on being a Psychologist so I went back to the steel shop were I had been working to put myself through Tech. We moved to Northern Va. and Katie went to work for the gov. (DOD). We moved to Manassas, Va. and spent the next fifteen years or so working. I went to work as an ironworker erecting structural and welding and became the foreman and then stated my own company.. I ran that about 10 yrs. and then yielded to the constant pressure to move home(Texas). We finally sold the house, closed down the business and moved to Waco and we lasted another few yrs. Now I live in the big town of Valley Mills which is about 25 miles NW of Waco. I bought an old run down industrial plant in Waco . My dad always wanted to run his own business so now he and I use the place togather and I contract a lot of his work".
TERESA DeARZA CUSHING Class of '66 Cushing.teresa@epa.gov Jan 15, 1999 - Hi Gloria, You are to be applauded for all your good work and tenacity to keep this going all these years. You did not receive a Xmas card from me this year because I did not send one (not even one) to anyone. It has been such a busy year for us, we worked all during the holidays except the actual holiday and I just returned today from a two week executive course in Sheppardstown, West Virginia. Just to let you know there are five of us Rohawks meeting in San Antonio the second week in June. I have worked with Judy Minor to get this going (she did most of the work), I just helped her track down two of the people. Anyway, Carole O'Brien, Judy Minor, Jill Anderson, and Jodie Hargus and myself are spending four days together on the San Antonio River. It has been over 30 years since any of us have seen Jill and Jody so we are really excited. Jodie actually lived in Vegas the whole time I was there and I never had a clue. All is fine here. Pat Manganello (Fales), Jan Ownbey (Link) and I still try and get together as often as possible. CONGRATULATIONS to Teresa and Geoff - they will be getting married in Las Vegas on January 1, 2000! Also, her son, Jason is getting married on January 14th.
ROB DeMOTTA Class of 65 RobD2447@aol.com Rob lives in Killeen, Texas, and is in the process of moving to Lake Travis in Austin, Texas. Rob has been in the car business for the last 20yrs. Rob is co‑owner of Cleo Bay Honda, Cleo Bay Used Cars Inc., and Hertz Rental Cars located in Killeen. Rob has a 17‑year‑old son, Chad, is a senior at Georgetown High School. His son also works at the dealership learning the car business. Rob enjoys his free time spending the weekend on his boat on Lake Travis.
KEN DEVERS - Class of '64 - Ken lives in Colorado. Ken took an early (USAA) retirement package in August - his first action was to make a list of Big, Medium and Little projects to do. So far, he's painted the house in 12" of snow. He is also doing a restoration job on a 1970 Mustang. Ken and wife, Trudy also traveled some this year and skiied several times and went up to Mesa Verde National Park and to Rendevous for camping.Both daughters, Bridget and Audra have moved out and are on their own. Ken has also taken up painting (on canvas).
EARL DODGION - Class of '63 dodgion@amigo.net Earl lives in South Fork, Colorado. His son Troy graduated from high school in May and is going to the University of Colorado in Boulder. His dental office has been busy. Unfortunately, Earl tore his rotater cuff in his shoulder chasing his son down a slalom course last spring and he'll have surgery.
LINDA EDGARIAN DENHAM 1/18/99 DEFTED@aol.com "I had met a fabulous fellow in 1966 ‑ 1968 at RAFB while I was singing with a folk song group in the building next to Chapel One. Earl Denham was a one man singing act there at the time. To make a very long story short, he left for the Vietnam War that was going on, and we lost contact for 30 years. In the summer of 1997, he told me that he had loved me for 30 years and he had been looking for me for years, and he finally found me on a computer one summer night while he was typing the final exam for a college course he was teaching ! He thought I was still married, (from when he had found out about me before), so he had a friend call me to find if it would be OK if he called to just find out if I was happy. We found that we both were divorced in 1995, that we both have two children about the same ages, (and the other countless similarities and unique happenings boggle the mind) and that we still had everything in common, as if the 30 years had been a blink of an eye. We are very happily married and have been so for a year and a half. When he found me, he had retired from the Air Force as a Major, and was working for the National Petroleum Refiners Assoc. in Wash, D.C. and living in VA. I lived in Austin, Tx. where I had been a school teacher for 25 years. He was in the process of taking the job to run the Fuel System for O'Hare International Airport in Chicago when we met again and got married, so Chicago is where we are at this time."
GARY ERICKSON - Class of '64 LOGOMORPH@aol.com Gary and his significant other, Rose, went to Utah where they launched their kayaks into the Green River and followed it for sixty five miles over a period of four days and ended up in Cody, Wyoming. They returned home through Yellowstone, into Idaho and Nevada and back to San Francisco.
MIKE FAUSETT - Class of '65 - Mike and his wife Diana were on the move again last year. They took their daughter, Shannon and her husband for a week in Maui. His group of guys went to Canada again for their annual fishing trip and are set to go again July 4th. You can see a picture of Mike and an anonomous fish on the web page.
MIKE FITZPATRICK: As some of you already know, Mike passed away in September in Los Angeles. BONNIE HORNE McKEEVER - Class of '64 bonniem@ttsscpa.com Bonnie lives in Tulsa, OK. "Thought I would let you know I survived the "busy season" and actually thrived. Of course all I did was work seven days a week and nothing else got done. The night the tornadoes hit Okla City was a real thrill in Tulsa too. Our tornado was much smaller in intensity. Spent most of the night with the sirens going off and in my powder room on ground floor. I visited my dad in Norman last month and got a look at some of the damage. You couldn't tell what the buildings had been. Actually most of the area was just leveled. Nothing but streets and driveways. It did resemble the bomb site in many ways. My youngest, Paul, will be starting law school in Wyoming in the fall. Guess he just loves being poor and in debt!! His brother, Matt, is still here in Tulsa and takes good care of his mom. He's a nurse technician and works at St. Francis Hospital with the neurology department. My oldest, John, works for Gill Industries in Grand Rapids, MI as the IS person. He says he's the computer guy! You can imagine his distress at me not having a home computer, but I'm working on it as quickly as I can. Now if he and Amy would just get busy and have me some babies .......!!"
GENE HOLT - while I was visiting with Gene in Lexington earlier this year, I discovered that he had suffered a heart attack. He is doing well now. There are pictures posted on the web page of Gene and me.

Daughter, Amy became a flight attendant with United and is based in Denver. Her son, Mike is studying computer science and astro-physics at CU-Boulder. Sue has 20 months in with Mary Kay Skin Care and Cosmetics. She is doing this full time now and achieved Queen's Court of Sales and received a diamond ring at the seminar in Dallas this year. Her home has also been chosen to be in the Christmas Victorian Home Tour this year.
PAT MANGANELLO FALES - Class of '66 dfales@ix.netcom.com pat@patfales.com "Life is good in the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC...in spite of the antics going on in congress at the moment! We have a new grandson, Dylan Patrick, who is almost 8 months old. He has everyone wrapped around his little finger already! He lives in Richmond with his parents, our son and daughter in law, so he is only about an hour and a half from us. We go down to visit as often as we can...but it is never enough. Life in real estate keeps me busy. I now have a staff of 5 who work with me to take care of the administrative end so, even though we are doing a substantial amount more business, I am not totally crazed. I still love it ‑ every day is a new challenge. Can't imagine doing anything else."

CAROLE McRAE RICHARDS - Class of '64 carole.richards@usaa.com Carole lives in San Antonio and works for USAA Insurance. "The Reunion. Karen and I have been working on it when time permits. The first place we wanted to have the Reunion at fell through simply because of the huge cost of having it there. Tentative plans as they stand now are to have a simple dinner on Saturday night downtown on the river at one of the hotels or restaurants. That way after dinner and the business meeting, everyone can go and do their own thing. Friday night we thought we'd all meet up at a place called the Far West Rodeo for drinks, dancing, talking, etc. (We've lost our contacts at the base so we can't meet at the Officer's Club anymore) If the guys want to play golf, maybe they ( Mike Wysong, Tom Madsen, Jeff Lindley) can arrange something. We'll have more definitive information after the middle of January. We've tentatively picked the weekend of June 23rd‑25th, depending on availability of dinner places, etc. Let us know what you think. OK PEOPLE - write to Carole and tell her what you think. "My daughter Laura is pregnant and due to deliver on or around December 27th. So my plane leaves here on January 3rd and I return to S.A. on January 16th. I'm looking forward to the trip. The sonograms show the baby to be a girl, so you know Mom and I are tickled PINK!! Of course, I've had to stop myself from buying everything I see. However, I have done some serious damage to my budget. Oh well, you only live once so might as well enjoy it while you can. My boss retired on October 29th and they gave me two new bosses to do the work of the old one. On top of that, they decided that we needed to move to consolidate everyone together, so this past week‑end we moved 50 feet (a chinese firedrill) and had to pack and then unpack. What fun!!! As of today, I'm finally unpacked and settled in kinda‑sorta. It will get better. Haven't found another position yet. Will have to delay my search until after I return from California. I know the right thing will come along at the right time., it always does. Mom and Dad are fine. Fat and sassy as ever. Both are excited about the new great‑grandbaby. All in all things here are fine, hectic but fine."

JUDY (O'NEILL) WOODRUFF (Class '64) SopRBronco@aol.com This year, I have joined the list of "empty nesters" and am loving every minute of it. They are always home‑‑so don't think you are ever truly an empty nester. Amy, 27, is now in cosmetoloy school and has two children‑‑Kayla, 7 and Christian, 3. Stacy, 20, is a junior at CU majoring in three biologies which I can't even pronounce. Future plans are vet school and Krissy, my youngest, now 18 is going to the University of Northern Colorado hoping to transfer to Colorado State Univeristy next year to be a part of the equestrian team. I think her major is "party". She is the horse lover and I am sure will always be. As for me, I am still in Franktown, south of Denver, on my little farm with 5 dogs and 5 cats and my tractor and still single. I ventured into the world of real estate and love it. This is a great location and the market is great. People are looking to escape from the city and enjoy the peace and quiet of country living. I am a big BRONCOS fan and got season tickets about 9 years ago. I blame the Ro‑Hawks for turning me into a football fanatic. Although, I don't know how you could live in Denver and not be a Bronco fan. I just started training for United and will have those wonderful benefits plus will have vacation time by then. Just let me know the week so I can bid the time. I am so excited with being back with the airlines. Have really missed the travel and atmosphere the airport brings. I am training for ticketing and gate agent. Have my schedule till December and can even go to six of the Bronco games. My PRIORITY!!! Have Nov and Dec with Sundays off. Girls are busy working this summer‑‑Krissy will be going to CSU next year and Stacy will graduate from CU. Can hardly believe that!!! I can't be getting that old.

PAM PRATT VILES - Class of '65 pviles@pdq.net "My elder daughter, Pippa, is getting married in August. He is a never‑married 32 year old Navy vet, whom the Marines are sending to law school. He graduates in May and takes the bar in July. Sometime after the wedding he goes to Quantico for six months and Rhode Island for three. Both are considered TDY assignments (although the Marines call it something different), so it is a bit unclear what Pippa will do during that time. After that he will join the Judge Advocate General's office, and she will be a military wife. As she is my stay close to home kid, this should be interesting. I find it difficult to understand her concerns, as I still think that when a light bulb burns out, it is time to pack. She, of course, grew up in the same house her whole life. Foreign concept to us, huh?????????" This past March, Pam and a few of her friends flew over to Sydney, Australia for a girls vacation. Luckily they stayed in the hotel that Art Nigro runs so they have an awesome time. Unfortunately, Pam lost her debit card to an ATM machine and got stuck in the hotel elevator. She had dinner with Art and his wife, Sheila.They stayed on the 24th floor with a spectacular view over the Harbour Bridge and the Opera house. Unfortunately, Gail's dear mom passed away on September 17 - she was 91 years old.

Her youngest child, son, Justin is living in CA with his Dad. Ashley started kindergarten and is taking ballet and tap. Kris will be job hunting after Christmas, probably looking at something with a school. She, her kids and parents are all well and healthy.

She also helps send greetings to shut-ins for her church. Carol has been taking some new meds for her multiple sclerosis and has noticed some small improvements. Her daughter, May, has her "Master of Fine Arts" and wants to teach on the college level. Son, Fred is still in college.
MICHAEL WYSONG - Class of '63 mpwysong@gte.net Mike lives in San Antonio, Texas.- Mike had to have another knee operation earlier in the year. He's also restored his 1972 Mustang and is now working on his 1959 TR-3. Son Michael is at Northeastern University and is doing good and also playing baseball for the university.

I am divorced and have one son, Jeff, age 29, I have one granddaughter, Caitlyn, age 7. This has been a year of many "firsts" for me. I have gone scuba diviing sky diving and deep sea fishing. I also bought my dream car, a BMW 23 Roadster. I have been an insurance clains adjuster since graduation. I am presently employed as a TPA for Cambridge. I am currently residing in Allentown, PA. At one time, I also held licenses to see insurance of all types, as well as a stock broker license and realtor license. Jeff and I will be going to Baltimore for Christmas, since that is where my two brothers, two sisters and father reside."

Thanks, keep up the great work. "I went into the USAF for 3 2 years during the Viet Nam era, however, I was stationed at Randolph. I got out and went to college and became a CPA in Houston. ... My career has principally been in Real Estate Development, Insurance and Surety Bonding and some retail store ventures." I was told about your site by Kerry Becker. I know lots of work went into it but thanks from all of us RoHawks. There could not have been a better place to graduate from than Randolph. Living on the base and going to school there was like being in a dream bubble so to speak! We all rode our scooters around going to the base theatre for 15 cent movies etc., the base snack bar for 35 cent hamburgers, up to the top of the Taj Mahal and out to the golf course for fun and games (riding the golf carts for $2 for nine holes ( when we didn't even play golf) while on the way watching the aircraft taxi by. Oh how those were the real days! Unbelievable!!! I will forever cherish those times! Thanks again, Go RoHawk Football! I am living in beautiful North Scottsdale, Az now and own AmeriTrust Home Inspection Services Co. but will miss the old carefree days around the base forever!!! Dear Friends.....
This has been a momentous year for us - Our family grew by one more in April when Chase Daniel was born to my daughter, Allison; Our son, Kelly, turned 16 and started driving; and Danny and I celebrated our 20th Anniversary in September. Kelly, Danny, ex-son-in-law, Travis and I took a trip in July out west to the Grand Canyon - we also went to Meteor Crater, NM, Sedona, AZ and Lake Powell, AZ- we drove through Monument Valley, Utah, to Four Corners and then to Albuquerque where we caught the plane back to Florida. A very memorable trip!! * Kelly is a Junior in high school and also works in an Italian restaurant taking telephone orders and as a pizza chef. He is finally starting to think about what he wants to do after he graduates high school. * Daughter, Allison, 29, has four boys (Stephen 8, Cole 6, John Mason 2 and Chase Daniel 8 months) and lives in Jacksonville, Fl. She works as a secretary/bookkeeper at a Church. * Son, Mark, 28, is in the Air Force and is now stationed at Kunsan AFB, Korea. He is in plumbing and water treatment. He says it is a beautiful country but he's really feeling displaced. He's looking forward to his next assignment which he hopes will be somewhere in Europe. * Son, Kyle is 28 and is married and lives in Boca Raton with his wife and two little boys (Dylan 3 and Tony 2). Kyle is working for an electrical company and going to school to learn how to be an electrician. * Danny's son David lives in Austin, Texas and works at an automotive shop. * To celebrate our 20th anniversary Danny and I went to New York City, where we saw Miss Siagon and ate at a wonderful steak place named Gallaghers and after the play we ate at the Tavern on the Green. We walked all over and went to the top of the Empire State Building. * Also in September Allison and I visited San Antonio to see Allison's grandmother, Mrs. Mary Jane Pechuls. Our trip was short but we did get some quality time with Mimi. Unfortunately, Mimi passed away December 10th with her family (sons Brett, Chuck and daughter, Mary Jane) at her bedside. * While in San Antonio for the weekend I also got to visit with Mike Wysong, Karen Poor Peck, Carole McRae Richards and Janet Francis Jewett at Mike's house for dinner. I've posted a picture on the miscellaneous page (of the Ro-Hawk Web Page) of all of us. * In October I had laser eye surgery. I had been wearing tri-focals and I was very near sighted . The operation was a success - right after the surgery, on the way home in the car, I was reading license plates of the cars in front of our car. My vision has slightly regressed in my left eye and I'll have more surgery in a few months. However, I can walk around without my glasses, read and work. I just need a pair to drive. It is amazing!!! * At Thanksgiving, Danny, Kelly and I flew to visit my parents, Bill and Fran Campbell, in Somerset, Kentucky. Mom and Dad are in good health considering Mom is 77 and Dad just turned 80. Our trip was nice and we enjoyed the unusual warm weather. * Our family was all together for Christmas with all the kids (minus Mark) at our house. It was a very full house with all those grandsons! Greetings to all of you and hope for a Happy & Healthy New Year!!!
Congratulations to my husband Danny - on January 13th he will celebrate one whole year of not smoking!

We have been working very hard to make it enjoyable and have received a lot of positive feedback, however, it is still a work in progress. This has encouraged them to create a web page of their own and to organize a reunion that was held recently. ALFRED AGUIRRE - Faculty - Chemistry (ARALGA123@aol.com) Mr. Aguirre lives in San Antonio, Texas. He retired from teaching in August, 1989 after 30 years in the classroom. He has un-retired twice. Once to sell camera equipment and now, to sell chemicals and lab equipment.
JEFF ANDERSON & JACKIE DARLING ANDERSON - Class of '63 & '64 (janderson@sprynet.com) Jackie wrote on 12/9/98 that she is "semi-retired" from law for a while. She is still working part time for a law firm/title company in historic Leesburg, VA - its only 15 minutes from the "country house". Jeff is the head of the Reston, VA office of Ciber, Inc., who recruits various talent for high-tech and government positions. Jackie enjoys not working "full tilt" and looks forward to real retirement! She is still quilting and spent her usual week in Houston, Texas at the International Quilt Festival, but this year she worked in the Education Office of the show instead of "playing" and taking classes. She is still very involved with the Colorado Quilting Council and does the publicity for the biennial symposium held in Estes Park every other year. Personal Note by Jackie: A Life in the country continues to be a lesson in life! We have had the worst drought in 30 years and the highest temperatures for fall/early winter for about the same amount of time. We have "critters" all over the place, looking for food and a place to nap! We have had most systems converted over to gas since electricity is too high, put utility and water lines down to the tractor barn, and installed a generator since power goes out all the time. We have started new landscaping and garden work and hope to get that under control in the spring, but who knows! I must confess, however, that even with all the work, etc., I like my quiet and solitude out here in the Blue Ridge and don't know if I will ever want to go back to "suburbia"… time will tell. (Wait and see how I feel after first huge blizzard!!!) * Youngest son, Reagan, is now in his first year of school in Kirksville, Missouri at the Kirksville School of Osteopathic Medicine. He had a tense first semester, but survived and is pretty proud of it. We visited with him at Thanksgiving, as well as a visit to Jeff's sister, Jill (also a Or-Hawk), in St. Louis. Great time. Our oldest, Shaun, and his wife, Trinity, are doing great in Colorado Springs. Trinity is a new CPA and has just started with a new firm and Shaun continues his job as Activities Director at one of the eldercare/ health care facilities. * My mother, Jane Darling, is active as usual, walking all over the place on her volksmarches and this spring we are planning a trip to England together to find old haunts from being stationed there in the early 60's. We decided we had better hurry since neither of us was getting any younger! Ha! Jeff's Dad is spry as ever and came for a visit when Reagan was home. The "boys" put a new storage room in our garage and it was nice to have all three generations at one time (and you can imagine how the political discussions went for three different generations....)

JERRY & CALLA GIBSON BALL - Representing the Class of '65 & '67 (Jcrsdj@aol.com) Jerry and Calla and their family live at Scott AFB, IL. Jerry graduated from Air Force Academy and received his M.A. in Economics from UCLA. He had tours at Brooks AFB in the Air Force Human Resources Laboratory and Viet Nam where he spent eighteen months in the Advanced Research Projects Agency and Randolph AFB and the DC area. He also went to Texas A&M and earned an M.S. and a PhD in Statistics. They have 4 children, sons Richard, and Scott, 23, Daniel, 19, and daughter, Janna, 16. They also have one grandchild - Courtneyrose Emily Ball was born on 30 Sep 98. 8 lbs, 13 2 ounces. She is the daughter of Scott and his wife, Ruth. Jerry will retire from active Air Force on July 1, 1999.
WARD BEIGHTOL - Class of '65 (wbeightol@nations.net) - Ward lives in Summerville, South Carolina and retired April 1, 1998 from the Air Force. He is now enjoying golfing, racquet ball, tennis, taking the boat and jet ski to the lake or ocean, and taking care of the family's investments. He has also been coaching soccer and baseball at the Y. He=s making the best of his Afree@ time. Ward=s nieces, Bill=s daughters, continue to succeed: In May, Julie graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas A&M and received her degree in Biology - she=s now working on her secondary certification and wants to teach. She=s been engaged for a year to Shane - the wedding date will wait until their education is finished. Amy is also attending A&M and attending the College of business. Their mother Delores lives in Cypress, Texas and is substitute teaching and has started making decorative birdhouses as a hobby/part-time business.
RON BERGQUIST - Class of '64 (bergquist@ac.net AND bergr@ils.unc.edu) Ron and his wife, Dru live in Pinebluff, NC. He is retired but still in school at UNC He is also in the PhD program in information science. Personal Note: A At the risk of admitting that I'm an old fart, I have to report that I am a member of The Retired Officers Association. In the December issue of TROA, however, I noticed the name of Lt Col Carroll J. Moench of Texas. Mr. Moench was our physics teacher in 63-64 and I am sure he did not recall us idiots fondly. Nonetheless, I did learn something about angular moment and velocity from him. I just finished up my school work for the semester and am now starting on my Master's thesis so I can get my MSLS in May and start in on the PhD program in the fall. Last September, I was asked to be a Graduate Assistant on a National Institutes of Health grant to study how computer scientists, physicists, chemists, and gene therapy specialists collaborate while using an atomic force microscope. It's a fascinating learning experience being around these folks. They are working on incredibly tiny objects like DNA, proteins, and carbon buckytubes which are measured at the nano scale. GUY BLAIR - Class of '65 (guy.blair@intel.com) Guy and Martha live in Beaverton, OR with daughter Karen, age 5. After he earned his Ph.D. Guy pursued research in astronomy in the Netherlands, the east coast and Colorado. At present he manages a research lab at Intel which is developing new technologies with Microsoft for doing live multimedia over the internet. Personal note: My Hawaiian Vacation - Summer 1998: First I learned how to pronounce Kauai. You pronounce it like Hawaii, except with a K. We stayed at three different places, two on Poipu (sunny south shore) and one it Kapaa (eastern shore). We rented snorkeling stuff from Snorkel Bob's for the whole week and drove to a different beach every day as well as cooling off in the pool. There are something like 300 different fish in these waters, although we didn't see more than 50-60. We saw at least one sea turtle every day, one freaked me out by swimming up behind me in just 5 feet of water heading out to sea...! We took two snorkeling/boat trips, both up the western (very remote) Na Pali coastline, which is only accessible in the summer (40-50 foot waves in the winter). There are cliffs and green prehistoric looking mountains just rising our of the ocean and tons of water falls. Our boat was a 10 person Zodiac raft, like the Green Peace folks use. It's very fast and very bumpy. We went into a couple of sea caves, one through a waterfall. After 5-6 hours, everyone had really sore behinds, but it was fun and we got to snorkel in a remote ancient tribal village for about an hour. The other trip was on a big catamaran which was still pretty fast and exciting for such a big "civilized" boat. They had a nice buffet and we even backed up into a 100 foot waterfall to get every one wet before snorkeling. The big canyon area (Wimea canyon: a mini grand canyon) get's more rainfall than any other place on the planet (450 inches a year). Hence, the importance of staying on the SUNNY southern coast.@
BILL BORELLIS - Class of '64 (BBORELLIS@aol.com) Bill lives in Woodland Hills, CA. He still has his own insurance and consulting business. He also teaches economics at ITT Tech. He is also attending school trying to finish up his MBA in Technology Management, with graduation on May 8th. He is also looking into the PHD programs. Bill has a three children: Jade (a senior in high school who is a volleyball genius), Rachel, 13 and in 8th grade who plays basketball like her Daddy, and Jared who is in elementary school and has his own agenda. Bill will be spending Christmas with his family in Las Vegas with sister, Sherry and his Mom and Dad.
BILL AWHIZZY@ BROOME - Class of '65 (WK: broomew@hq.hqusareur.army.mil HM: whizlex@hotmail.com) Alexa and Whiz moved to Heidelberg, Germany this year, where Whizzy is the assignments and personnel officer for the Chaplains in Europe (he=s an Army Chaplain). He travels to different posts throughout Europe and will be traveling soon to Bosnia and Hungary. Alexa is working on becoming a certified personal trainer in weight training and cardiovascular fitness. She hopes to have her license in February 1999. Daughter, Marci is in Columbia, SC going to college and working at the state treasurer=s office. Their other daughter, Leah, has two children, Lexi and Samuel and lives in Neosho, MO with her husband, Phil. The whole family will be in Germany for the Holidays. Whizzy is a member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association. Personal Note: 12/2/98: Hey Gloria!! I bet you thought I dropped off the face of the earth!! Well, almost. I got back from my month long visit to the states last month, just before Thanksgiving. We didn't get to visit everyone in San Antonio as planned because Alexa's mother died while we were in Columbia, SC at the school I had to attend. It was totally unexpected and really devastated the family. We had Thanksgiving alone this year, but it was good and we needed the rest! The girls, and grandkids are coming over here for Christmas, and this gives us something to really look forward to. The job here is very demanding but rewarding, so time flies by. I still ride the Motorcycle to work most days, even dodging snow flakes now and then!!
DICKIE BUCHERT O=BANION - Class of '64 (DickieOB@aol.com) Personal note: AA quick update on our family: Mom and Dad are still doing well, up into their late 70's and happy, healthy and together. My sister, Toni, is in Ft. Worth, divorced, and doing very well. Our children are growing up. Our daughter is a sophomore in college and our son a senior in high school. Next year our home will be empty. Yucch. I don't think I'm going to do the "empty nest" thing very gracefully. But what's new? I don't do change of any kind gracefully I'm finding. Thank goodness Melbourne is a rock and is keeping me on course, helping me to remember that this is why we had children and brought them up, right?@
TONI BUCHERT GREECE - Class of >63 (italy91@email.msn.com) Personal Note: AGloria: what fun to get email. It never ceases to amaze me the changes in technology these days. I am working as a corporate account executive with PageMart Wireless (telecommunications). My kids: my oldest Marc (31) is married now 2 years and promises me that I will be a grandma in 2000. I can hardly wait. My youngest Michelle (30) if FINALLY ENGAGED. Wedding is next year in the fall. God forbid she should rush into this or anything. But her fiancé was truly worth waiting for. Reared the kids to be independent and they have both taken it to heart. Marc works in New York and is going to school again in Audio Visual field to work in broadcasting he hopes and Michelle is office manager for a series of auto body shops. Have 3 step kids from the second marriage. Got rid of the father, kept the kids. They are 28, 23, and 18 now and I spent the last 10 years helping raise them. The oldest Eric is a gen. mgr of On the Border restaurant in Norman, Ok. and doing very well. Chad (23) works for Harrigans Restaurants here in Ft Worth and Amy (18) has just graduated from High School and we have no earthly idea what she is going to do with her life. It will be interesting to see!! Otherwise, all is rather mundane in my life and frankly I like it that way. Spend my free time in my rose garden or doing needlework or cooking. CAROLE BURTENSHAW WEINBERGER - Class of '66 (bandsman@olg.com) Personal note: I got my degree in Education from the U. of Nebraska, but only taught for 2 years. Worked for the Dept of Agriculture for 10 years as a contract officer but quit when my job went to Minnesota, and I moved to Southern Maryland. Have worked for a veterinarian for the last 13 years, and manage a Clinic now. I have two daughters. The youngest Rene is in the Navy awaiting orders in Great Lakes, Ill. She's a marine electrician. My oldest Lisa is a talented commercial artist, has two beautiful sons, and a great husband. They live near us in California, Maryland. At present, Lisa is fighting Leukemia so our lives are a little stressed to say the least. Mom & Dad Burtenshaw are no longer with us. We lost Mom in '81 and Dad in '96. I have bred Miniature Schnauzers for 25 years and am now an AKC judge and travel all over the world showing and sometimes judging dogs. I was invited to Argentina to put on a Schnauzer grooming demonstration in August. Isn't that fun! After two tries, I finally found the man of my dreams. His name is Frank Weinberger, he's retired (now!) from the Government, and he's my right and left arm, I swear. I really don't know what this family would do without him. We've been married for 13 years, and with his kids and mine have a total of 6 (!!!) grandkids, 3 boys and 3 girls.@
ED BURTENSHAW - Class of '65 (eburten1@tampabay.rr.com) Ed lives in Clearwater, Florida with his wife, Mary Clare, Son, Casey and daughter, Molly. Ed continues to work for AARP, doing political stuff on the federal level and travels a lot both all around Florida and other parts of the country. Mary Clare works in the domestic area, and does a lot of volunteer work at the kids' school.

RICHARD CLICK - Class of '66 (chksix@mindspring.com) Personal note: I'm still living in a little town south of Atlanta with my wife Heather and two children Amanda 17 and Ben 14. After stints in fighter squadrons in both the Navy and the Air Force, I've worked for two airlines and am currently a Captain for Delta here in Atlanta. I spend most of my time raising my children and canoeing and backpacking. Love Georgia and after all those years of moving I can't believe that we have been here over 14 years!
EARL DODGION - Class of '63 (dodgion@amigo.net) Earl lives in South Fork, Colorado (also has a house in Alamosa) He has his own dentistry practice. His wife Myrna teaches business courses with a lot of computer stuff in high school. They have two sons, Troy (18; high school sr.) who plays football and basketball and teaches skiing. Blaine (16; high school Soph.) is into basketball pretty heavy. He started at point guard on his freshman team that won their league. Earl skis and plays racquetball in his spare time. He also likes to fish some with his sons and ride his mountain bike.

She is the Special Education Coordinator for Florence High School. Butch is with Emergency Management and has been really busy with the disastrous floods there in Texas. They golf as much as they can when time permits. Their daughter, Jody is a senior at Texas A&M and expects to graduate in May with a degree in Zoology and intends to apply for a criminologist position with the Texas Dept. Of Public Safety (emphasis on DNA) then go to grad school in Genetics Counseling. Their other daughter, Melissa, is at grad school at the University of Illinois (AFIT Scholarship). She should complete her master=s degree in July and probably will attend Intelligence School at Goodfellow AFB.
KEN DEVERS - Class of >63. Ken and his wife, Trudy live in Colorado Springs. They took a cruise through the Panama Canal in March, went snorkeling in St. Johns, Virgin Island. Ken went black powder (Muzzle loading) Elk hunting, but didn=t get any elk. They hope to get in some skiing this winter. Their daughters, Bridget and Audra are out and on their own, however, Ken and Trudy see their granddaughter, Taylor often.
MIKE FAUSETT - Class of >65 - sent pictures of three HUGE fish he caught on his Canadian fishing trip. Mike and his wife, Diana have traveled to Washington, went on a 10 cruise to Acapulco and went to London at Thanksgiving. Diana love to look for interesting quilts (you should get together with Jackie Darling Anderson) and Mike loves to hunt and fish.

As for myself, I am married living in Dallas and have been for the past 15 years. I have three kids. Niki age 23 (getting married in April, Jeremy 21 (not getting married in my life time), and Jordan (whom I may sell to some gypsies soon and cheap!) My wife and I have been married since forever and if Ginney died first I'd have to jump in the grave with her! I have been in the Franchise Development Business for almost 25 years now. Perhaps in another 25 I'll have it all figured out. Ginney and I are currently looking for some land to purchase in the Hill Country north and/or west of San Antonio. We would like to find some property on one of the rivers in area. Gloria, thanks for your efforts to make this all happen. Personal note: 09/07/98 AI'm taking Art History I (requirement), metallurgy (metal properties, testing and different ways to test them, and the best ways to weld them), and power hammer (an advanced form of black smithing). Power hammer is taught by a blacksmith named Lars Stanley. He's one of the best known blacksmiths in America. It's truly an opportunity. I am eating it up. I really enjoy going to classes. I actually like doing homework. My, how time can change things. Life is good.@ John is spending Christmas with relatives in Utah.

SANDY HOLT GUTHRIE - Class of '63 (RufusSandy@aol.com) Personal note: AI've been living in Atlanta for the last 2 years and I married Rufus Guthrie. He is in the Georgia Hall of Fame. He was a football player for Georgia Tech and the San Diego Chargers in the early 60's. He is developing a golf course in Atlanta called Grey Hawk Ridge. I left the construction business when I married Rufus. I am now what you would call a "housewife/secretary" for my husband. We have a farm about an hour north of town and try to get there for the weekends. During the week we have an office/apartment in Alpharetta (20 minutes north of Atlanta). Trey, my oldest son, is now 24. Holt, my youngest, is 21. Both graduated from the University of Alabama and are now working here in Atlanta. Rufus has three children (Rob 31, Reed 27 and Denise 25) and they all live here in Atlanta.@

Son, Matt has moved into his own place now and he took his computer. Personal Note: 12/28/98 - AI guess I'm about to decend into the "busy season" hell. This firm is growing really fast so I have to keep on my toes. This should be an interesting experience this year with 20 CPAs . At least I've had a few months to get some of it figured out. MIKE HUNT - Class of '63 (amvmh@aol.com) Personal note: AAfter leaving Randolph H.S. I hopped around attending different colleges in Texas & Colorado. I married in 1969, divorced in 1978. During that period I worked for F.W. Woolworth,(Woolco div.) I have two daughters from this marriage Debi &Shelly.I started a small vending machine business in 1976 to help generate extra revenue. I left Woolworth in 1978 just after my divorce. My vending business was beginning to grow. I re-married again in 1985 - divorced in 1993, there were no children from this marriage. During this period American Vending grew very rapidly generating sales that exceeded $3 million annually. I also manage "Hunt Real Estate Income & Development Corp". I re-married again in1996. .My daughter Debi graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in business in 1996.She is currently working for me, and will take over so dad can retire. Shelly is in her senior year @ Southeastern Missouri. Her degree will be in bio-medical research. I took the game of golf up @age 30.I just love the game. However, it does not like me, but I refuse to let it get the better of me. I play the game almost everyday. NANCY OLSEN GIAMBALVO - Class of >65 - Nancy lives in Dallas with her family, Jerry, Marisa and Ross. Nancy has been busy with volunteer work including co-chairing the Scholarship Fundraiser at the high-school and the Fall Fundraiser for The Plano Symphony. She is retiring from Apublic service@ now and concentrating on downsizing her life. Daughter, Marisa is busy with work and school and son, Ross, who graduated this past June (he was commencement speaker at graduation, voted most likely to succeed), is finishing up his first semester at the University of PA.
CHARLES ACHUCK@ PECHULS - Class of '64 - After 25 years of living in South Florida, Chuck and his wife, Lyn, moved to the West Coast of Florida to Dunedin. However, for the last four months, he and wife Lyn were living in San Antonio with his mother before she passed away helping care for her. At the moment Chuck is still in San Antonio finishing up a job and helping to clear his mother=s estate. They plan to move back to Ft. Lauderdale as soon as they can.

Jim has a son from his previous marriage, Kevin. A new son was born on November 25th named Aidan Robbins Peck. CHARLES "MIKE" PITZER - Class of '66 (Pitstop1@juno.com AND pitzer@stic.net) Mike and his wife and daughter live in San Antonio, TX. Mike works with the U.S. Postal Service. From high school he attended Texas Lutheran college in Seguin and then entered the Air Force in 1969 and retired in 1990 after 21 years. He married his wife, Joyce, in 1970. Joyce is from Karnes City, TX and graduated from Karnes City High School. They have two daughters: Christina, 22, and attends UTSA taking courses toward a degree in biology and teaching; Samantha, 11, takes violin and is a member of the Redland Oaks Elementary Strings Ensemble.
PAM PRATT VILES - Class of '65 (pviles@pdq.net) Personal Note: AWe moved last year to another area of Sugar Land, a suburb of Houston. Our daughter Pippa is 22 and graduated from SMU last year. Pippa is doing marketing for a bank. That basically means she plans parties, galas, and social events....which she says she came out of the womb knowing how to do. She enjoys that, but isn't crazy about the banking business itself. She occasionally makes law school noises, but probably has to get fed up enough before she makes up her mind to apply. Pippa is dating a couple of guys, but nothing serious. Our other daughter, Chelsea is a junior at Tulane, majoring in art history. She plans to go to Oxford for graduate school, at Pembroke College, the same college at Oxford that her dad attended for part of medical school. She has been dating a guy for a year, and seems pretty serious about him, but has a lot of school to worry about before we start planning weddings. (Sounds like a mom, right?) We have been doing a fair amount of traveling, some of it for pleasure, but most for medical-political meetings. As my husband, Bob, is no longer in clinical practice due to his illness ten years ago (hard to believe it is that long), he is able to take a lot of time to meet with legislators that someone still active practice could not. I am still on the Memorial Hermann Foundation Board, and currently working on underwriting for our annual gala to be held the end of January. Last week, some of the other Board members and I took a two hour helicopter ride around the Houston metroplex to view the ten hospitals and some office buildings in the health care system. It was really fun........

Jan and Bill play golf as often as they can with their busy schedules. Jan teaches and is busy with various church activities. She is also interested in computers and enjoys searching the internet and developing web pages for school and home. She also teaches after-school workshops for teachers in technology. Son, Richard is in his second year at the University of Mary Hardin-baylor in Belton. Susan is a senior in high school and next year will enter the same college as her brother. They have also traveled to many places in their ministry, including Kenya, Africa.
RICK ROBINSON - Class of '64 (rrobinson@CompuServe.com) Rick lives in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He is the Hospital Administrator for the VA Hospital. He's been married to his wife, Linda, for 31 years. They have 5 kids: Amy is 28 and a Capt. In the Air Force at the US Space Command, Cheyenne Mountain Colorado Springs; Rebecca is 24 and is working on her Masters at the University of Arkansas; Matthew is 21 and graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in international economics. He is now spending three weeks in Europe traveling with a friend; Nathan is 20 at the University of Arkansas majoring in computer science and is in the middle of his junior year. Colorado Tech. In Colorado Springs; Laura is also at the university of Arkansas and is a sophomore maintaining her full academic scholarship. TOM ROGERS - Class of >64 (tomr@sirsi.com) Tom retired from the Army in 1992 and worked for a systems integrator for a few years, and presently he works for SIRSI Corporation (library automation). He has a new passion for ice hockey. He has been playing in an over 40 league. They just moved to a place where they keep some horses and a tractor. His wife, Sandy, is a math and computer lab manager for Trinity Christian School. They have a son, Ben, who is 14 and a daughter, Laura, who is 11.

TERRY SMILJANICH - Class of '65 (Tsmiljan@aol.com) Terry and his wife, Dorothy live in St. Petersburg, FL - Terry is an attorney and Dorothy is a travel agent. They travel for fun and also in their jobs. This year they went to Yellowstone - Personal Note: AWe spent five days in Yellowstone. We went trout fishing in Yellowstone Lake, went to an AOld West Cookout@ in a valley (by stagecoach), saw Grizzlies, Black Bears, Elk, Moose, Bighorn Sheep, Deer and Bison. One morning, I was scraping off two inches of snow from my windshield (this is June!!) when I heard someone walking toward me. When I turned around, there was a 2000 lb. Buffalo walking right past me in the parking lot!!! Two days later, here I was back in 100 degree heat.
GAIL STEED McILHANEY - Class of '64 (GailMcil@aol.com) Gail and her husband Mac work as archaeologists and geologists near Bristol, Virginia. Gail traveled to England, Wales and Scotland this year. They have one son, Charles.
KRIS STRAND MEYER - Class of >64 - Kris has custody of her adorable little 5 year old granddaughter, Ashley who is in Pre-K. Kris= son, Justin is 14 and in the 9th grade at Trinity Christian Academy. Kris, Ashley and Justin are living with Kris= parents in San Antonio. Kris= oldest daughter, Melissa is 28 and lives with her husband, David and daughter, Sheridan (4 1/2) in Sacramento. Her other daughter, Lauren is 22 2 and lives in San Antonio.
PATTIE TYLER - Class of '66 (ptyler@us.ibm.com) Pattie lives in Austin and works for IBM. Personal Note: 09/4/98 AI'm in the throes of big changes here at work - have changed from a unix machine to an NT. The NT runs so much faster, but I am not so sure how much I like this operating system - it's just not as powerful in some ways as the unix. Anyway, due to the mail handler changes from this system change. Latest family news is that brother Charlie and his beloved of 27 years finally got married last spring. Had a beautiful outdoor wedding in Houston. Charlie and Gloria have 5 kids and 6 grandkids, so it was a big family to-do.@
JANET WATKINS JENDRON - Class of >65 (jjendron@usit.net) Janet and her family live in Columbia, South Carolina. Janet=s daughter, Kathleen has moved back home and is in grad school in Speech Pathology at USC; son Trip is in his second year at Hampden Sydney College; Son, Danny is a senior in high school and daughter, Claudia, is a sophomore in high school. Husband Bob is with the US Attorney=s office, still Chief of the Criminal Division and Janet is still working at an Assistive Technology Project at the USC School of Medicine. She works with people and parents of children with disabilities. She has finished her la Leche League International Board of Directors= work this year.
MICHAEL WYSONG - Class of '63 (mpwysong@gte.net) Mike lives in San Antonio, Texas. His son, MICHAEL, is attending Northeastern University on a baseball scholarship. Mike works for Blackmon Mooring Steamatic. (They clean carpets, furniture, drapery, do fire and water restoration after damages). He works in the commercial division, most of his work is done in air duct cleaning for large buildings. Mike also has a passion for golf and rebuilding old cars.

IN MEMORIAM: Besides the death of Mrs. Pechuls on December 10th - Mrs. Allshouse and Mrs. Bird passed away recently. Our thoughts and prayers are with Chuck, Bucky, Carol, Linda and Gary and all their families and extended families. I will especially miss Mrs. Pechuls (AMimi@) as she has been very inspirational and a very good friend to me for all these years. However, these were all wonderful women who will be dearly missed.

Dear Mrs. Gallagher:
On behalf of the Class of 1998, I'd like to congratulate you for proving once and for all that just because you may leave the halls of Randolph, they never leave you. It was indeed a pleasure to come across this web site one night after our recent graduation. With the impending scatter of all of my friends and fellow graduates to all corners of the globe (we have Ro-Hawks going as far as Japan to begin their undergraduate studies), it has become important to me that we keep in touch. This was my main motivation for registering with ClassMates, and I am glad to see that your effort to unite classmates even after 30+ years is coming to fruition. Not much has changed at Randolph since the founding of the school. The principal, Bruce Cannon '69, is now firmly settled into the reigns, and many members of the coaching staff are also Ro-Hawk graduates. The greatest change over the last year was the removal of the blue bricks from the gym wall and the front of the school office (the weight was pulling down the walls of the gym). As a gift to all graduating seniors this year, the school gave these bricks with engraved plaques attached stating the school name and our year of graduation. This really brought home to me the loyalty I have to this school, and I am happy to see, as evidenced by your web page, that that feeling does not diminish with time. I wish you continued success in the future.

Dear Friends.....
This has been a momentous year for us - Our family grew by one more in April when Chase Daniel was born to my daughter, Allison; Our son, Kelly, turned 16 and started driving; and Danny and I celebrated our 20th Anniversary in September. Kelly, Danny, ex-son-in-law, Travis and I took a trip in July out west to the Grand Canyon - we also went to Meteor Crater, NM, Sedona, AZ and Lake Powell, AZ- we drove through Monument Valley, Utah, to Four Corners and then to Albuquerque where we caught the plane back to Florida. A very memorable trip!! * Kelly is a Junior in high school and also works in an Italian restaurant taking telephone orders and as a pizza chef. He is finally starting to think about what he wants to do after he graduates high school. * Daughter, Allison, 29, has four boys (Stephen 8, Cole 6, John Mason 2 and Chase Daniel 8 months) and lives in Jacksonville, Fl. She works as a secretary/bookkeeper at a Church. * Son, Mark, 28, is in the Air Force and is now stationed at Kunsan AFB, Korea. He is in plumbing and water treatment. He says it is a beautiful country but he's really feeling displaced. He's looking forward to his next assignment which he hopes will be somewhere in Europe. * Son, Kyle is 28 and is married and lives in Boca Raton with his wife and two little boys (Dylan 3 and Tony 2). Kyle is working for an electrical company and going to school to learn how to be an electrician. * Danny's son David lives in Austin, Texas and works at an automotive shop. * To celebrate our 20th anniversary Danny and I went to New York City, where we saw Miss Siagon and ate at a wonderful steak place named Gallaghers and after the play we ate at the Tavern on the Green. We walked all over and went to the top of the Empire State Building. * Also in September Allison and I visited San Antonio to see Allison's grandmother, Mrs. Mary Jane Pechuls. Our trip was short but we did get some quality time with Mimi. Unfortunately, Mimi passed away December 10th with her family (sons Brett, Chuck and daughter, Mary Jane) at her bedside. * While in San Antonio for the weekend I also got to visit with Mike Wysong, Karen Poor Peck, Carole McRae Richards and Janet Francis Jewett at Mike's house for dinner. I've posted a picture on the miscellaneous page (of the Ro-Hawk Web Page) of all of us. * In October I had laser eye surgery. I had been wearing tri-focals and I was very near sighted . The operation was a success - right after the surgery, on the way home in the car, I was reading license plates of the cars in front of our car. My vision has slightly regressed in my left eye and I'll have more surgery in a few months. However, I can walk around without my glasses, read and work. I just need a pair to drive. It is amazing!!! * At Thanksgiving, Danny, Kelly and I flew to visit my parents, Bill and Fran Campbell, in Somerset, Kentucky. Mom and Dad are in good health considering Mom is 77 and Dad just turned 80. Our trip was nice and we enjoyed the unusual warm weather. * Our family was all together for Christmas with all the kids (minus Mark) at our house. It was a very full house with all those grandsons! Greetings to all of you and hope for a Happy & Healthy New Year!!!
Congratulations to my husband Danny - on January 13th he will celebrate one whole year of not smoking!

We have been working very hard to make it enjoyable and have received a lot of positive feedback, however, it is still a work in progress. We have also been contacted by a lot of people from classes who graduated after the main group (Classes from the >70's and >80's) and some from the most recent classes. This has encouraged them to create a web page of their own and to organize a reunion that was held recently. ALFRED AGUIRRE - Faculty - Chemistry (ARALGA123@aol.com) Mr. Aguirre lives in San Antonio, Texas. He retired from teaching in August, 1989 after 30 years in the classroom. He has un-retired twice. Once to sell camera equipment and now, to sell chemicals and lab equipment.
JEFF ANDERSON & JACKIE DARLING ANDERSON - Class of '63 & '64 (janderson@sprynet.com) Jackie wrote on 12/9/98 that she is "semi-retired" from law for a while. She is still working part time for a law firm/title company in historic Leesburg, VA - its only 15 minutes from the "country house". Jeff is the head of the Reston, VA office of Ciber, Inc., who recruits various talent for high-tech and government positions. Jackie enjoys not working "full tilt" and looks forward to real retirement! She is still quilting and spent her usual week in Houston, Texas at the International Quilt Festival, but this year she worked in the Education Office of the show instead of "playing" and taking classes. She is still very involved with the Colorado Quilting Council and does the publicity for the biennial symposium held in Estes Park every other year. Personal Note by Jackie: A Life in the country continues to be a lesson in life! We have had the worst drought in 30 years and the highest temperatures for fall/early winter for about the same amount of time. We have "critters" all over the place, looking for food and a place to nap! We have had most systems converted over to gas since electricity is too high, put utility and water lines down to the tractor barn, and installed a generator since power goes out all the time. We have started new landscaping and garden work and hope to get that under control in the spring, but who knows! I must confess, however, that even with all the work, etc., I like my quiet and solitude out here in the Blue Ridge and don't know if I will ever want to go back to "suburbia"… time will tell. (Wait and see how I feel after first huge blizzard!!!) * Youngest son, Reagan, is now in his first year of school in Kirksville, Missouri at the Kirksville School of Osteopathic Medicine. He had a tense first semester, but survived and is pretty proud of it. We visited with him at Thanksgiving, as well as a visit to Jeff's sister, Jill (also a Or-Hawk), in St. Louis. Great time. Our oldest, Shaun, and his wife, Trinity, are doing great in Colorado Springs. Trinity is a new CPA and has just started with a new firm and Shaun continues his job as Activities Director at one of the eldercare/ health care facilities. * My mother, Jane Darling, is active as usual, walking all over the place on her volksmarches and this spring we are planning a trip to England together to find old haunts from being stationed there in the early 60's. We decided we had better hurry since neither of us was getting any younger! Ha! Jeff's Dad is spry as ever and came for a visit when Reagan was home. The "boys" put a new storage room in our garage and it was nice to have all three generations at one time (and you can imagine how the political discussions went for three different generations....)

JERRY & CALLA GIBSON BALL - Representing the Class of '65 & '67 (Jcrsdj@aol.com) Jerry and Calla and their family live at Scott AFB, IL. Jerry graduated from Air Force Academy and received his M.A. in Economics from UCLA. He had tours at Brooks AFB in the Air Force Human Resources Laboratory and Viet Nam where he spent eighteen months in the Advanced Research Projects Agency and Randolph AFB and the DC area. He also went to Texas A&M and earned an M.S. and a PhD in Statistics. They have 4 children, sons Richard, and Scott, 23, Daniel, 19, and daughter, Janna, 16. They also have one grandchild - Courtneyrose Emily Ball was born on 30 Sep 98. 8 lbs, 13 2 ounces. She is the daughter of Scott and his wife, Ruth. Jerry will retire from active Air Force on July 1, 1999.
WARD BEIGHTOL - Class of '65 (wbeightol@nations.net) - Ward lives in Summerville, South Carolina and retired April 1, 1998 from the Air Force. He is now enjoying golfing, racquet ball, tennis, taking the boat and jet ski to the lake or ocean, and taking care of the family's investments. He has also been coaching soccer and baseball at the Y. He=s making the best of his Afree@ time. Ward=s nieces, Bill=s daughters, continue to succeed: In May, Julie graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas A&M and received her degree in Biology - she=s now working on her secondary certification and wants to teach. She=s been engaged for a year to Shane - the wedding date will wait until their education is finished. Amy is also attending A&M and attending the College of business. Their mother Delores lives in Cypress, Texas and is substitute teaching and has started making decorative birdhouses as a hobby/part-time business.
RON BERGQUIST - Class of '64 (bergquist@ac.net AND bergr@ils.unc.edu) Ron and his wife, Dru live in Pinebluff, NC. He is retired but still in school at UNC He is also in the PhD program in information science. Personal Note: A At the risk of admitting that I'm an old fart, I have to report that I am a member of The Retired Officers Association. In the December issue of TROA, however, I noticed the name of Lt Col Carroll J. Moench of Texas. Mr. Moench was our physics teacher in 63-64 and I am sure he did not recall us idiots fondly. Nonetheless, I did learn something about angular moment and velocity from him. I just finished up my school work for the semester and am now starting on my Master's thesis so I can get my MSLS in May and start in on the PhD program in the fall. Last September, I was asked to be a Graduate Assistant on a National Institutes of Health grant to study how computer scientists, physicists, chemists, and gene therapy specialists collaborate while using an atomic force microscope. It's a fascinating learning experience being around these folks. They are working on incredibly tiny objects like DNA, proteins, and carbon buckytubes which are measured at the nano scale. Their site at http://www.cs.unc.edu/Research/nano/ does a pretty good job of explaining the project.
GUY BLAIR - Class of '65 (guy.blair@intel.com) Guy and Martha live in Beaverton, OR with daughter Karen, age 5. After he earned his Ph.D. Guy pursued research in astronomy in the Netherlands, the east coast and Colorado. At present he manages a research lab at Intel which is developing new technologies with Microsoft for doing live multimedia over the internet. Personal note: My Hawaiian Vacation - Summer 1998: First I learned how to pronounce Kauai. You pronounce it like Hawaii, except with a K. We stayed at three different places, two on Poipu (sunny south shore) and one it Kapaa (eastern shore). We rented snorkeling stuff from Snorkel Bob's for the whole week and drove to a different beach every day as well as cooling off in the pool. There are something like 300 different fish in these waters, although we didn't see more than 50-60. We saw at least one sea turtle every day, one freaked me out by swimming up behind me in just 5 feet of water heading out to sea...! We took two snorkeling/boat trips, both up the western (very remote) Na Pali coastline, which is only accessible in the summer (40-50 foot waves in the winter). There are cliffs and green prehistoric looking mountains just rising our of the ocean and tons of water falls. Our boat was a 10 person Zodiac raft, like the Green Peace folks use. It's very fast and very bumpy. We went into a couple of sea caves, one through a waterfall. After 5-6 hours, everyone had really sore behinds, but it was fun and we got to snorkel in a remote ancient tribal village for about an hour. The other trip was on a big catamaran which was still pretty fast and exciting for such a big "civilized" boat. They had a nice buffet and we even backed up into a 100 foot waterfall to get every one wet before snorkeling. The big canyon area (Wimea canyon: a mini grand canyon) get's more rainfall than any other place on the planet (450 inches a year). Hence, the importance of staying on the SUNNY southern coast.@
BILL BORELLIS - Class of '64 (BBORELLIS@aol.com) Bill lives in Woodland Hills, CA. He still has his own insurance and consulting business. He also teaches economics at ITT Tech. He is also attending school trying to finish up his MBA in Technology Management, with graduation on May 8th. He is also looking into the PHD programs. Bill has a three children: Jade (a senior in high school who is a volleyball genius), Rachel, 13 and in 8th grade who plays basketball like her Daddy, and Jared who is in elementary school and has his own agenda. Bill will be spending Christmas with his family in Las Vegas with sister, Sherry and his Mom and Dad.
BILL AWHIZZY@ BROOME - Class of '65 (WK: broomew@hq.hqusareur.army.mil HM: whizlex@hotmail.com) Alexa and Whiz moved to Heidelberg, Germany this year, where Whizzy is the assignments and personnel officer for the Chaplains in Europe (he=s an Army Chaplain). He travels to different posts throughout Europe and will be traveling soon to Bosnia and Hungary. Alexa is working on becoming a certified personal trainer in weight training and cardiovascular fitness. She hopes to have her license in February 1999. Daughter, Marci is in Columbia, SC going to college and working at the state treasurer=s office. Their other daughter, Leah, has two children, Lexi and Samuel and lives in Neosho, MO with her husband, Phil. The whole family will be in Germany for the Holidays. Whizzy is a member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association. Personal Note: 12/2/98: Hey Gloria!! I bet you thought I dropped off the face of the earth!! Well, almost. I got back from my month long visit to the states last month, just before Thanksgiving. We didn't get to visit everyone in San Antonio as planned because Alexa's mother died while we were in Columbia, SC at the school I had to attend. It was totally unexpected and really devastated the family. We had Thanksgiving alone this year, but it was good and we needed the rest! The girls, and grandkids are coming over here for Christmas, and this gives us something to really look forward to. The job here is very demanding but rewarding, so time flies by. I still ride the Motorcycle to work most days, even dodging snow flakes now and then!!
DICKIE BUCHERT O=BANION - Class of '64 (DickieOB@aol.com) Personal note: AA quick update on our family: Mom and Dad are still doing well, up into their late 70's and happy, healthy and together. My sister, Toni, is in Ft. Worth, divorced, and doing very well. Our children are growing up. Our daughter is a sophomore in college and our son a senior in high school. Next year our home will be empty. Yucch. I don't think I'm going to do the "empty nest" thing very gracefully. But what's new? I don't do change of any kind gracefully I'm finding. Thank goodness Melbourne is a rock and is keeping me on course, helping me to remember that this is why we had children and brought them up, right?@
TONI BUCHERT GREECE - Class of >63 (italy91@email.msn.com) Personal Note: AGloria: what fun to get email. It never ceases to amaze me the changes in technology these days. I am working as a corporate account executive with PageMart Wireless (telecommunications). My kids: my oldest Marc (31) is married now 2 years and promises me that I will be a grandma in 2000. I can hardly wait. My youngest Michelle (30) if FINALLY ENGAGED. Wedding is next year in the fall. God forbid she should rush into this or anything. But her fiancé was truly worth waiting for. Reared the kids to be independent and they have both taken it to heart. Marc works in New York and is going to school again in Audio Visual field to work in broadcasting he hopes and Michelle is office manager for a series of auto body shops. Have 3 step kids from the second marriage. Got rid of the father, kept the kids. They are 28, 23, and 18 now and I spent the last 10 years helping raise them. The oldest Eric is a gen. mgr of On the Border restaurant in Norman, Ok. and doing very well. Chad (23) works for Harrigans Restaurants here in Ft Worth and Amy (18) has just graduated from High School and we have no earthly idea what she is going to do with her life. It will be interesting to see!! Otherwise, all is rather mundane in my life and frankly I like it that way. Spend my free time in my rose garden or doing needlework or cooking. CAROLE BURTENSHAW WEINBERGER - Class of '66 (bandsman@olg.com) Personal note: I got my degree in Education from the U. of Nebraska, but only taught for 2 years. Worked for the Dept of Agriculture for 10 years as a contract officer but quit when my job went to Minnesota, and I moved to Southern Maryland. Have worked for a veterinarian for the last 13 years, and manage a Clinic now. I have two daughters. The youngest Rene is in the Navy awaiting orders in Great Lakes, Ill. She's a marine electrician. My oldest Lisa is a talented commercial artist, has two beautiful sons, and a great husband. They live near us in California, Maryland. At present, Lisa is fighting Leukemia so our lives are a little stressed to say the least. Mom & Dad Burtenshaw are no longer with us. We lost Mom in '81 and Dad in '96. I have bred Miniature Schnauzers for 25 years and am now an AKC judge and travel all over the world showing and sometimes judging dogs. I was invited to Argentina to put on a Schnauzer grooming demonstration in August. Isn't that fun! After two tries, I finally found the man of my dreams. His name is Frank Weinberger, he's retired (now!) from the Government, and he's my right and left arm, I swear. I really don't know what this family would do without him. We've been married for 13 years, and with his kids and mine have a total of 6 (!!!) grandkids, 3 boys and 3 girls.@
ED BURTENSHAW - Class of '65 (eburten1@tampabay.rr.com) Ed lives in Clearwater, Florida with his wife, Mary Clare, Son, Casey and daughter, Molly. Ed continues to work for AARP, doing political stuff on the federal level and travels a lot both all around Florida and other parts of the country. Mary Clare works in the domestic area, and does a lot of volunteer work at the kids' school.
BARRY CANNADAY - Class of >65 (bcannaday@jenkens.com) Barry graduated from the University of Texas (had a stint in the Army). Went to law school and now practices oil and gas law in Dallas with the firm of Jenkens & Gilchrist.
RICHARD CLICK - Class of '66 (chksix@mindspring.com) Personal note: I'm still living in a little town south of Atlanta with my wife Heather and two children Amanda 17 and Ben 14. After stints in fighter squadrons in both the Navy and the Air Force, I've worked for two airlines and am currently a Captain for Delta here in Atlanta. I spend most of my time raising my children and canoeing and backpacking. Love Georgia and after all those years of moving I can't believe that we have been here over 14 years!
EARL DODGION - Class of '63 (dodgion@amigo.net) Earl lives in South Fork, Colorado (also has a house in Alamosa) He has his own dentistry practice. His wife Myrna teaches business courses with a lot of computer stuff in high school. They have two sons, Troy (18; high school sr.) who plays football and basketball and teaches skiing. Blaine (16; high school Soph.) is into basketball pretty heavy. He started at point guard on his freshman team that won their league. Earl skis and plays racquetball in his spare time. He also likes to fish some with his sons and ride his mountain bike.
ANN DORMAN WEDDLE - Class of '65 (Weddles4@aol.com) Ann and her husband Randy live in San Antonio, TX. Randy works for the Red Cross and Ann works for the North East Independent School District. Son Tres manages a Starbuck's and daughter Mandy works for a market entrepreneur in Phoenix.
JOANNA DYAS SMITH - Class of >65) Butch_Smith@email.msn.com - Butch and Joanna live in Georgetown, TX - Joanna=s health is outstanding, all check ups are coming back Aclean and green@. She is the Special Education Coordinator for Florence High School. Butch is with Emergency Management and has been really busy with the disastrous floods there in Texas. They golf as much as they can when time permits. Their daughter, Jody is a senior at Texas A&M and expects to graduate in May with a degree in Zoology and intends to apply for a criminologist position with the Texas Dept. Of Public Safety (emphasis on DNA) then go to grad school in Genetics Counseling. Their other daughter, Melissa, is at grad school at the University of Illinois (AFIT Scholarship). KEN DEVERS - Class of >63. Ken and his wife, Trudy live in Colorado Springs. They took a cruise through the Panama Canal in March, went snorkeling in St. Johns, Virgin Island. Ken went black powder (Muzzle loading) Elk hunting, but didn=t get any elk. They hope to get in some skiing this winter. Their daughters, Bridget and Audra are out and on their own, however, Ken and Trudy see their granddaughter, Taylor often.
MIKE FAUSETT - Class of >65 - sent pictures of three HUGE fish he caught on his Canadian fishing trip. Mike and his wife, Diana have traveled to Washington, went on a 10 cruise to Acapulco and went to London at Thanksgiving. Diana love to look for interesting quilts (you should get together with Jackie Darling Anderson) and Mike loves to hunt and fish.
JANET FRANCIS JEWETT - Class of '64 (JJewett775@aol.com) Janet lives in San Antonio, TX with her significant other, Hank. Janet works as visiting nurse. She is also doing marketing for a telecommunication company as well as for a long-term acute care-rehab hospital. Janet's two boys, John and Jimmy live in Houston. John is married and has two children.

As for myself, I am married living in Dallas and have been for the past 15 years. I have three kids. Niki age 23 (getting married in April, Jeremy 21 (not getting married in my life time), and Jordan (whom I may sell to some gypsies soon and cheap!) My wife and I have been married since forever and if Ginney died first I'd have to jump in the grave with her! I have been in the Franchise Development Business for almost 25 years now. Perhaps in another 25 I'll have it all figured out. Ginney and I are currently looking for some land to purchase in the Hill Country north and/or west of San Antonio. We would like to find some property on one of the rivers in area. Gloria, thanks for your efforts to make this all happen. Personal note: 09/07/98 AI'm taking Art History I (requirement), metallurgy (metal properties, testing and different ways to test them, and the best ways to weld them), and power hammer (an advanced form of black smithing). Power hammer is taught by a blacksmith named Lars Stanley. He's one of the best known blacksmiths in America. It's truly an opportunity. I am eating it up. I really enjoy going to classes. I actually like doing homework. My, how time can change things. Life is good.@ John is spending Christmas with relatives in Utah.

SANDY HOLT GUTHRIE - Class of '63 (RufusSandy@aol.com) Personal note: AI've been living in Atlanta for the last 2 years and I married Rufus Guthrie. He is in the Georgia Hall of Fame. He was a football player for Georgia Tech and the San Diego Chargers in the early 60's. He is developing a golf course in Atlanta called Grey Hawk Ridge. I left the construction business when I married Rufus. I am now what you would call a "housewife/secretary" for my husband. We have a farm about an hour north of town and try to get there for the weekends. During the week we have an office/apartment in Alpharetta (20 minutes north of Atlanta). Trey, my oldest son, is now 24. Holt, my youngest, is 21. Both graduated from the University of Alabama and are now working here in Atlanta. Rufus has three children (Rob 31, Reed 27 and Denise 25) and they all live here in Atlanta.@
BONNIE HORNE McKEEVER - Class of '64 (bonniem@ttsscpa.com) Bonnie lives in Tulsa, OK. Bonnie works for a CPA firm where there are six partners and about 25 other support staff. She does all the return processing. Youngest son graduates from college (Clemson) in South Carolina in December - he wants to go to law school. Still no grandchildren- just grand dogs. Son, Matt has moved into his own place now and he took his computer. Personal Note: 12/28/98 - AI guess I'm about to decend into the "busy season" hell. This firm is growing really fast so I have to keep on my toes. This should be an interesting experience this year with 20 CPAs . At least I've had a few months to get some of it figured out. MIKE HUNT - Class of '63 (amvmh@aol.com) Personal note: AAfter leaving Randolph H.S. I hopped around attending different colleges in Texas & Colorado. I married in 1969, divorced in 1978. During that period I worked for F.W. Woolworth,(Woolco div.) I have two daughters from this marriage Debi &Shelly.I started a small vending machine business in 1976 to help generate extra revenue. I left Woolworth in 1978 just after my divorce. My vending business was beginning to grow. I re-married again in 1985 - divorced in 1993, there were no children from this marriage. During this period American Vending grew very rapidly generating sales that exceeded $3 million annually. I also manage "Hunt Real Estate Income & Development Corp". I re-married again in1996. .My daughter Debi graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in business in 1996.She is currently working for me, and will take over so dad can retire. Shelly is in her senior year @ Southeastern Missouri. Her degree will be in bio-medical research. I took the game of golf up @age 30.I just love the game. However, it does not like me, but I refuse to let it get the better of me. I play the game almost everyday. She retired from education and is taking a less stressful path. She has returned to direct sales and become a Mary Kay consultant. She is also cashiering at a local restaurant. Amy is working for United Airlines and Mike is working in computer programming in Breckenridge. Personal note: AEvery morning when I get up and look out the window at the two highest peaks in Colorado, Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive, I feel so very grateful to be living here.@
DAVID McDOWELL - Class of '65 (Clutchpapa@aol.com) David lives in Reno, Nevada. He is divorced and has custody of two of his kids, Brianne 13 and Matt 15 - other son, Mike 17 lives with ex-wife. He writes and installs software programs. He also has a band that he plays in named "Papa Clutch & the Shifters" - they play 50's 60's and some70's music.
CAROLE McRAE RICHARDS - Class of '64 (carole.richards@usaa.com) Carole lives in San Antonio and works for USAA Insurance. She has one daughter, Laura who is living in Los Angeles. Carole and her parents spent 2 weeks in Germany this past year. They went to a reunion of folks that had been stationed at Furstenfeldbruck (west of Munich) in the >50's. They also visited the former East Germany and visited Dresden.

NANCY OLSEN GIAMBALVO - Class of >65 - Nancy lives in Dallas with her family, Jerry, Marisa and Ross. Nancy has been busy with volunteer work including co-chairing the Scholarship Fundraiser at the high-school and the Fall Fundraiser for The Plano Symphony. She is retiring from Apublic service@ now and concentrating on downsizing her life. Daughter, Marisa is busy with work and school and son, Ross, who graduated this past June (he was commencement speaker at graduation, voted most likely to succeed), is finishing up his first semester at the University of PA.
CHARLES ACHUCK@ PECHULS - Class of '64 - After 25 years of living in South Florida, Chuck and his wife, Lyn, moved to the West Coast of Florida to Dunedin. However, for the last four months, he and wife Lyn were living in San Antonio with his mother before she passed away helping care for her. At the moment Chuck is still in San Antonio finishing up a job and helping to clear his mother=s estate. They plan to move back to Ft. Lauderdale as soon as they can.
JIM PECK - Class of '65 (jpeck@saratogasystems.com) Jim and his wife, Julie, live in Saratoga, California. They have a daughter named Alyssa Ann Peck who is now 4 years old. Jim has a son from his previous marriage, Kevin. A new son was born on November 25th named Aidan Robbins Peck. Jim also changed jobs and is now working as Vice President of Sales for Saratoga Systems. Congratulations!!

CHARLES "MIKE" PITZER - Class of '66 (Pitstop1@juno.com AND pitzer@stic.net) Mike and his wife and daughter live in San Antonio, TX. Mike works with the U.S. Postal Service. From high school he attended Texas Lutheran college in Seguin and then entered the Air Force in 1969 and retired in 1990 after 21 years. He married his wife, Joyce, in 1970. Joyce is from Karnes City, TX and graduated from Karnes City High School. They have two daughters: Christina, 22, and attends UTSA taking courses toward a degree in biology and teaching; Samantha, 11, takes violin and is a member of the Redland Oaks Elementary Strings Ensemble.
PAM PRATT VILES - Class of '65 (pviles@pdq.net) Personal Note: AWe moved last year to another area of Sugar Land, a suburb of Houston. Our daughter Pippa is 22 and graduated from SMU last year. Pippa is doing marketing for a bank. That basically means she plans parties, galas, and social events....which she says she came out of the womb knowing how to do. She enjoys that, but isn't crazy about the banking business itself. She occasionally makes law school noises, but probably has to get fed up enough before she makes up her mind to apply. Pippa is dating a couple of guys, but nothing serious. Our other daughter, Chelsea is a junior at Tulane, majoring in art history. She plans to go to Oxford for graduate school, at Pembroke College, the same college at Oxford that her dad attended for part of medical school. She has been dating a guy for a year, and seems pretty serious about him, but has a lot of school to worry about before we start planning weddings. (Sounds like a mom, right?) We have been doing a fair amount of traveling, some of it for pleasure, but most for medical-political meetings. As my husband, Bob, is no longer in clinical practice due to his illness ten years ago (hard to believe it is that long), he is able to take a lot of time to meet with legislators that someone still active practice could not. I am still on the Memorial Hermann Foundation Board, and currently working on underwriting for our annual gala to be held the end of January. Last week, some of the other Board members and I took a two hour helicopter ride around the Houston metroplex to view the ten hospitals and some office buildings in the health care system. It was really fun........

Jan and Bill play golf as often as they can with their busy schedules. Jan teaches and is busy with various church activities. She is also interested in computers and enjoys searching the internet and developing web pages for school and home. She also teaches after-school workshops for teachers in technology. Son, Richard is in his second year at the University of Mary Hardin-baylor in Belton. Susan is a senior in high school and next year will enter the same college as her brother. They have also traveled to many places in their ministry, including Kenya, Africa.
RICK ROBINSON - Class of '64 (rrobinson@CompuServe.com) Rick lives in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He is the Hospital Administrator for the VA Hospital. He's been married to his wife, Linda, for 31 years. They have 5 kids: Amy is 28 and a Capt. In the Air Force at the US Space Command, Cheyenne Mountain Colorado Springs; Rebecca is 24 and is working on her Masters at the University of Arkansas; Matthew is 21 and graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in international economics. He is now spending three weeks in Europe traveling with a friend; Nathan is 20 at the University of Arkansas majoring in computer science and is in the middle of his junior year. Colorado Tech. In Colorado Springs; Laura is also at the university of Arkansas and is a sophomore maintaining her full academic scholarship. Wife, Linda is enjoying Aretired@ life, however, as it has been turning out - she is busier than ever.
TOM ROGERS - Class of >64 (tomr@sirsi.com) Tom retired from the Army in 1992 and worked for a systems integrator for a few years, and presently he works for SIRSI Corporation (library automation). He has a new passion for ice hockey. He has been playing in an over 40 league. They just moved to a place where they keep some horses and a tractor. His wife, Sandy, is a math and computer lab manager for Trinity Christian School. They have a son, Ben, who is 14 and a daughter, Laura, who is 11.

TERRY SMILJANICH - Class of '65 (Tsmiljan@aol.com) Terry and his wife, Dorothy live in St. Petersburg, FL - Terry is an attorney and Dorothy is a travel agent. They travel for fun and also in their jobs. This year they went to Yellowstone - Personal Note: AWe spent five days in Yellowstone. We went trout fishing in Yellowstone Lake, went to an AOld West Cookout@ in a valley (by stagecoach), saw Grizzlies, Black Bears, Elk, Moose, Bighorn Sheep, Deer and Bison. One morning, I was scraping off two inches of snow from my windshield (this is June!!) when I heard someone walking toward me. When I turned around, there was a 2000 lb. Buffalo walking right past me in the parking lot!!! Two days later, here I was back in 100 degree heat.
GAIL STEED McILHANEY - Class of '64 (GailMcil@aol.com) Gail and her husband Mac work as archaeologists and geologists near Bristol, Virginia. Gail traveled to England, Wales and Scotland this year. They have one son, Charles.
KRIS STRAND MEYER - Class of >64 - Kris has custody of her adorable little 5 year old granddaughter, Ashley who is in Pre-K. Kris= son, Justin is 14 and in the 9th grade at Trinity Christian Academy. Kris, Ashley and Justin are living with Kris= parents in San Antonio. Kris= oldest daughter, Melissa is 28 and lives with her husband, David and daughter, Sheridan (4 1/2) in Sacramento. Her other daughter, Lauren is 22 2 and lives in San Antonio.
PATTIE TYLER - Class of '66 (ptyler@us.ibm.com) Pattie lives in Austin and works for IBM. Personal Note: 09/4/98 AI'm in the throes of big changes here at work - have changed from a unix machine to an NT. The NT runs so much faster, but I am not so sure how much I like this operating system - it's just not as powerful in some ways as the unix. Anyway, due to the mail handler changes from this system change. Latest family news is that brother Charlie and his beloved of 27 years finally got married last spring. Had a beautiful outdoor wedding in Houston. Charlie and Gloria have 5 kids and 6 grandkids, so it was a big family to-do.@
JANET WATKINS JENDRON - Class of >65 (jjendron@usit.net) Janet and her family live in Columbia, South Carolina. Janet=s daughter, Kathleen has moved back home and is in grad school in Speech Pathology at USC; son Trip is in his second year at Hampden Sydney College; Son, Danny is a senior in high school and daughter, Claudia, is a sophomore in high school. Husband Bob is with the US Attorney=s office, still Chief of the Criminal Division and Janet is still working at an Assistive Technology Project at the USC School of Medicine. She works with people and parents of children with disabilities. She has finished her la Leche League International Board of Directors= work this year.
MICHAEL WYSONG - Class of '63 (mpwysong@gte.net) Mike lives in San Antonio, Texas. His son, MICHAEL, is attending Northeastern University on a baseball scholarship. Mike works for Blackmon Mooring Steamatic. (They clean carpets, furniture, drapery, do fire and water restoration after damages). He works in the commercial division, most of his work is done in air duct cleaning for large buildings. Mike also has a passion for golf and rebuilding old cars.

IN MEMORIAM: Besides the death of Mrs. Pechuls on December 10th - Mrs. Allshouse and Mrs. Bird passed away recently. Our thoughts and prayers are with Chuck, Bucky, Carol, Linda and Gary and all their families and extended families. I will especially miss Mrs. Pechuls (AMimi@) as she has been very inspirational and a very good friend to me for all these years. However, these were all wonderful women who will be dearly missed.

Dear Mrs. Gallagher:
On behalf of the Class of 1998, I'd like to congratulate you for proving once and for all that just because you may leave the halls of Randolph, they never leave you. It was indeed a pleasure to come across this web site one night after our recent graduation. With the impending scatter of all of my friends and fellow graduates to all corners of the globe (we have Ro-Hawks going as far as Japan to begin their undergraduate studies), it has become important to me that we keep in touch. This was my main motivation for registering with ClassMates, and I am glad to see that your effort to unite classmates even after 30+ years is coming to fruition. Not much has changed at Randolph since the founding of the school. The principal, Bruce Cannon '69, is now firmly settled into the reigns, and many members of the coaching staff are also Ro-Hawk graduates. The greatest change over the last year was the removal of the blue bricks from the gym wall and the front of the school office (the weight was pulling down the walls of the gym). As a gift to all graduating seniors this year, the school gave these bricks with engraved plaques attached stating the school name and our year of graduation. This really brought home to me the loyalty I have to this school, and I am happy to see, as evidenced by your web page, that that feeling does not diminish with time. I wish you continued success in the future.

HAPPY SUMMER!!!My Dear Dear Friends.....Hope you all are enjoying a great year!! A new baby arrived for my daughter, Allison - her fourth boy, CHASE DANIEL who joins older brothers, Stephen (8) Cole (5 «) and Mason (2).. Of course, my husband, Danny has fallen in love with his namesake. Allison has turned into a wonderful woman, wife and mother. We are so proud of her. That make six grandsons!! All the other kids are doing great - Mark is still in the Air Force but has decided that the service has too many rules and will terminate his relationship with Uncle Sam at the earliest opportunity. He has decided however, to stay in North Florida. Our other son, Kyle, works for two restaurants - works too hard to support his young family. His sons, Dylan and Tony are growing and developing wonderfully. Our youngest son, Kelly , gets his driver's license in July - He is doing pretty good - we made him take professional driving lessons on top of both of us teaching him. We are real proud of him also - he has learned to make good decisions and I don't think he feels that we are too strict on him although he does test the limits as all teens do. He loves to surf and wakeboard - we are lucky to be near the ocean and lakes for him to be able to do both. He bought a truck that he is dying to take out by himself and he'll probably throw the surfboard in the back of the truck and head for the beach the minute he gets the driver's license. He also plays the guitar and dreams of being in a band. Doesn't that all sound so familiar? As a treat in a few weeks we will be attending the METALICA concert as a family. (Kelly had to stand in line and pay for his tickets - me and Dan have free box seats! We are taking a family vacation in July - we depart Ft. Lauderdale on July 4th and fly to Albuquerque, NM - drive to Sedona, Arizona, then on to the Grand Canyon, then on to Lake Powell - back to Albuquerque and fly home on the 12th of July. We are pretty excited about our trip. Kelly turns 16 on July 21st and Danny and I celebrate our 20th Anniversary on September 15th. How better to celebrate than at the Grand Canyon??!!The only thing new with me is that I have braces on my teeth. Hopefully, I'll be finished with all this dental work by the Reunion in 2000! Boy what a pain! I'm sorry I made fun of all you guys that wore braces in high school -My parents BILL & FRAN CAMPBELL are doing very well. Dad will be 80 years old in December (still riding around on his motorcycle). My beautiful Mom's 77th birthday is this month - I'm sure she won't mind me telling her age because she sure looks years younger! I love you Mom and Dad. I'll see you soon!!

Scary, but true. The page looks great and you are to be commended, as usual, for a great job! Everything is beautiful here in the Blue Ridge. They had a very mild winter, no snow, but tons of rain, so everything is in bloom and very early! We have a vineyard! The orchard trees have finished blooming, but azaleas and dogwood trees are still gorgeous. Forgot how pretty the East Coast is this time of year and real live trees, not just evergreens like in the Rockies I do miss real mountains however! House still not all unpacked, boxes still in garage, and I'm back in the saddle. What great extravaganza do you have planned for the year 2000!? I took a new permanent part time job at law firm in Leesburg, across the street from one I am currently working at. On August 3, 1997 Sue reported to work at her new job, as principal of Lake County intermediate School in Leadville. After being an administrator in schools of 150 and 250, close to 600 students in this school has been challenging. Her son, Mike, still lives in Golden and is assistant manager at Blockbuster Video and is attending CU, Boulder. Her daughter, Amy, also lives in Golden, Co. also. Trip is playing soccer and going to parties at Hampden Sydney College in Virginia. Danny (17) and Claudia (15) are going to the same high school where they both play soccer and run around with the same kids. Claudia's the most responsible person in the family. RON BERGQUIST 64 - EMAIL: bergquist@ac.net or bergr@ils.unc.edu I retired from the AF on 1 Jan 95 and we relocated from the Presidio of Monterey, CA (where I had been the Assistant Commandant of the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center) to Pinebluff, a small town in the Sandhills of North Carolina. Dru and I spent most of '95 and '96 restoring our circa 1902 house back into livable condition and have spent '97 working on cleaning up the woods and pond behind the house. I got frustrated with the inadequacies of local government in our first year here and so ran for office in November '95. I was elected to the Town Board of Commissioners and was appointed Mayor Pro Tempore. After an interesting (and somewhat productive two year term), I opted not to run again and have recently given up the office and now I can go back to complaining. Last year, feeling that I was needing some mental exercise, I applied for and was accepted in the Graduate School of Information and Library Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I am now in the midst of finishing up my final papers and projects at the end of my third semester. I am taking it easy, taking three courses per semester, and planning to stay in the program until 1999 or 2000. I will be getting either an MS in Library Science or in Information Science; there are so many interesting courses to take that I haven't yet made up my mind which degree to go for. I have a 90 minute drive each way to class, so I'm keeping my schedule constrained in order to make the drive only three times per week. The courses are very computer intensive, which permits me to do a lot of work at home and use file transfers to send and receive assignments. Believe it or not, I am not the oldest student there. One of my classmates is a 72 year old retired Marine LtCol who retired a second time from UNC a few years ago. He continues to work on the computer courses just to keep himself fresh. He's my idol. Dru and I celebrated (in an extremely low key manner) our 25th anniversary in October and are looking towards at least 25 more. Bob is retired from active medical practice since his illness ten years ago. He is an avid golfer and does consulting work for the hospital system. Pippa is 22 and graduated from SMU last year. She does marketing for a bank and recently moved into her own apartment. Chelsea is a sophomore at Tulane, majoring in art history (hey, that's useful!) and taking advantage of the pleasures of New Orleans.EARL DODGION 63 - EMAIL: dodgion@amigo.net Myrna got a job here in our local school district for '97-'98 school year. Before that, she was working in Alamosa, about a 100 mile round trip, so she was living most of the time at our house in Alamosa. Now we're all 4 living together in South Fork - keeping the Alamosa house as our place in the "city" (population about 10,000). It's good for family life, and also it's been a good change for her. She's moved from middle school to high school, and is teaching business courses with a lot of computer stuff. Troy (17; high school Jr.) had a good year in football, but decided not to play basketball. This is the first sports' season he's had off since seventh grade. He saw an article in the local paper about an instructors' clinic at the ski area, so he and one of his buddies decided to go to it. They both got hired. We only have school four days a week, so he has three weekend days to go up and work. It's a GREAT deal. If they have a lesson for him, he works, and makes about $50 for four hours' work. If they don't have a lesson for him, he gets to ski free. So far this year, he's skied over 50 days (that's awesome). Needless to say, he's gotten pretty good. Only problem is, he's become a ski fanatic -- wants to go glacier skiing this summer; get a job at some big resort instead of going to college, God knows what. With a little luck, it's just a fantasy. We'll see. (Oh, well) He's also going to the state FBLA competition in Vail in April in "computer concepts". whatever that is. Blaine (15; high school Fr.) is into basketball pretty heavy. He started at point guard on his freshman team that won their league. He's going to state in FBLA, too, in "business communications". (maybe these guys will become super businessmen and support their old man in his old age????)(which is right around the corner). As for me, mainly working. Got moved into my new building about six months ago, and business is going well. I've managed to ski a few times this winter, have a friend who introduced me to racquetball, which is kinda fun, looking forward to summer. Plan to fish some with Blaine (his favorite summer thing), and ride my mountain bike some. After trying several colleges, I joined the Navy. I served for eight years, finally completing my bachelor's degree in accounting at Memphis State University. When I got out of the Navy, I moved to Sacramento, CA, where I still live. I used my GI Bill to get a second bachelor's degree in Computer Science and a master's degree in Software Engineering. I am now working as a programmer for the Corps of Engineers, and occasionally teach programming on the side. Those who knew me in high school will not be surprised to learn that I am still bowling! It is something I have always enjoyed, and I have actually improved over the years. It is one of those sports that I can still do -- having had to abandon soccer and basketball as age took over. I have no children of my own, but have a 14 year old stepdaughter who is an avid soccer player. It's been a good career, but I'm ready to do something else with my life now. Just don't know what or where! I went to the Air Force Academy after Randolph. Ralph T. "Pete" Hagins, another '65 Ro-Hawk was there also. And as you know, Ward Beightol followed a year later, so three of our RHS class went there. Pete was very successful as a cadet, becoming a cadet group commander (there were eight squadrons in a group and four groups in the entire cadet wing). Let me just say that I graduated. From the Academy, the Air Force sent me to UCLA where, during a break between academic terms in 1969, I drove back to Randolph and married Calla and then went back to California and picked up my M.A. in Economics in 1970. After UCLA we returned to San Antonio (at Brooks AFB in the Air Force Human Resources Laboratory). The following year I went to Viet Nam where I spent eighteen months in the Advanced Research Projects Agency, returning to the States in 1973 about three months before the end of the Viet Nam War. My assignment at Air Force Logistics Command ended in 1975 with my resignation from the Regular Air Force. I became a Texas Aggie. Earned an M.S. and a PhD in Statistics. I also stayed in the Air Force Reserve as a part-timer. While a student at A&M, my two older boys, Richard and Scott, were born. I was recalled to active duty in 1979 to attend Air Command & Staff College where my third son, Daniel, was born. He has Down Syndrome. After ACSC, I returned to civilian life and became a civil service worker back at Randolph. In 1982, Calla and our three sons were delighted to see the arrival of a daughter, Janna. We left Randolph in 1985 to accept a promotion and an assignment to the staff at the United States Army War College in Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania. While there, my Reserve assignment was with the Joint Staff at the Pentagon. I was having lunch with a friend of mine at the Pentagon in 1986 when he asked me if I would be interested in returning to active duty for four years to fill a position in personnel analysis that had been vacant for a year. I thought that would be interesting so I said "yes" and came back on active duty as a lieutenant colonel in 1986. I spent over nine straight years in the DC area - three on the Air Staff, one at the Industrial College of the Armed Forces as a student, four and a half in the Air Force Secretariat, and one on the faculty of National Defense University. In 1995, I was transferred to Scott AFB, IL. I expect to retire from the Air Force this December as a colonel after twenty years of active duty spread out over thirty years of commissioned service. From there, I don't know where we'll go. There is so much to do but it is beautiful up here and the view is wonderful. I'm still working in Fredericksburg. It is a dream come true to be able to work there because it is a big vacation, shopping spot. It is also becoming a big retirement spot. The Texas hill country is very popular for snow bird relocation as well as for Texans. The land is getting very expensive. Everyone wants to live out of town or in the country. First time being a country girl and loving it. Muffin and Angel (my Yorkies) are fine and spoiled. I am still the Director of Nurses for a home health agency in Fredericksburg, Texas. Son, Jimmy married Kim in November or 1997. Son, John and Donna are fine. Grandchildren, Jennifer is going on 7 and grandson, Ian, just turned 2. Momma and Dad are fine and still in San Antonio. My sister, Susan who teaches school (SUSAN FRANCIS STRODE 65) has been spending a lot of time here with me. Her husband, Buck, has been working in Dallas and now has a job in San Antonio starting in May. He's been renovating a Holiday Inn and making it into a Marriott. They are in the process of building on their property that is 4 miles from here in Sisterdale, Texas. (just outside Comfort-which is just up from Boerne) It is on a hillside and stands out beautifully. Well, for starters I got married 8 years ago to a wonderful person, Julie. In fact we had a long distance relationship for almost 2 years, then she decided to move out to California. A while later we were married in Chicago, May 26th 1990. And guess what? I have a new daughter name Alyssa Ann Peck who is now 3.5 years old. Can you believe at my age (our age) in having another kid. She is just great and loves her Daddy. I am sure you remember Kevin my son, well he lives in Santa Cruz and works in San Jose and is now engaged. They come by and sometimes when Julie and I (my wife) want to be alone for dinner or a show they will sit with Alyssa. I am Director of Sales for High Tech Industries at i2 Technologies. The company is located in Dallas Texas and we sell Supply Chain Decision Support systems (software) for large corporations. I work out of our San Francisco office and my sales team calls on the top 100 high tech companies in the US and Canada. My carrier started with Memorex Corporation where I spent 13 years, left them and joined Amdahl Corporation as Director of National Accounts. This is where I met Julie who at the time was living in Chicago where she is from. She is still with Amdahl, in addition to being a great mother and wife. I cannot describe how wonderful Alyssa is and the joy she brings Julie and I. Not to mention how she keeps me young, and I definitely need that. On a free day during my trip I took a tour of NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab, where all the deep space probes are managed (Voyager, Mars Probe, etc.). In spite of the freeway congestion, I have always loved Southern California, its beaches and mountains. She was a counselor at an Art Camp in New York last summer, and most of the other counselors were from England in an exchange program for which they talked her into applying. Get this: before they would let her into the country to work, she had to prove she could leave in six months: round trip ticket. She had to carry a "Green Card" with her at all times, and she had to register with the local police. Sounds like something the USA ought to be doing. I remember very clearly walking into the "new" high school, and being cognizant of the fact that we were on trial. The Air Force wasn't sure if they should go to the expense of building their own high schools. I distinguished myself by being the only football injury in 66 -- I was a member of the pepsquad who fell and broke my ankle going down to the field... embarrassing!! I ended up graduating from a Michigan high school, attended the University of Michigan, married a dentist, have 2 daughters and 2 granddaughters. I was on our local city council for 13 years and finally mayor of the city for 4 years. As the years have passed I've been an EMT on an ambulance service, and a real estate agent. The world holds so many interesting professions, had to try my hand at a few. I love to act in our community theater. Gloria, thanks for continuing on with the newsletter. I go back up to the Queen Charlotte Islands on July 4th. Diana goes back to Kentucky in April for her quilting show. We are going on a 10-day cruise on the Mexican Riviera in October. This is about our 5th time so we don't even get off the ship. It's just nice to get away for awhile and it leaves from San Diego so we are home in 30 minutes after we get off the ship. Well, I'm 13 years at IBM now and have a great job as a lab tech in a development group that does software testing for network computers. I am still xeriscaping my front yard....had a great camping trip with Mary Bird to Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, and Natural Bridges National Monument. Then visited old friends near Capitol Reef National Park and Moab, Utah. I escorted my mom to the Dedication of the Women in Military Service Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery in D.C. in October. It was quite the historic occasion to see all those women, young and old, some in their uniforms. My mom was an Army nurse in WWII, on Bataan and Corregedor when the Philippines fell to the Japanese.JEFF LINDLEY 66 I am currently living and swinging (golf) in New Braunfels with first wife, Marty of 28+ years. Moved to area in 1994 from Tempe where I was a General Contractor for 15 years. Am still at it, both residential and commercial projects, new and old. Marty, is an MAI appraiser, currently working in another career. In 1998 we will begin some small commercial developments in or near the city. Daughter Jessica is married to Scott Spenser and living in Charlotte, NC. Will probably return to Texas in near future. His parents live one block away from my parents, M/G Wm. C. And Roselyn, in Windcrest. (They met in Dallas and did not know of this phenomenon until later). I have had regular contact with other members - Tom Madsen with wife Debbie living in Austin. I would like to organize a golf tournament for interested hackers in 1998. I will be contacting local class members, maybe even McDougall and Allshouse, at a later date. I remain, still a graduate of RHS.ED BURTENSHAW 65 Greetings fro the Burtenshaws in Florida. Casey is eleven and in the Fifth Grade. He is evolving in the normal ways of a preadolescent male - getting bigger, becoming more independent, pushing the limits, developing all of those endearing characteristics of a teenager. He is exasperating at times, and we are very, very proud of him. Molly will turn ten at the end of December and is in the fourth grade. She has not yet acquired many of her brother's rebellious traits, but then, she hasn't needed any, for she has her own individual style. We see a lot of her mother in Molly. Her lifestyle is exemplified by a T-shirt she got last year in a gifted class: "Question Everything!" As for the (relatively) more mature representatives in this family, both of us are muddling through. Ed continues to work for AARP, doing political stuff on the federal level. He is away from home far too often, traveling both all around Florida and other partes of the country. Mary Clare continues to work in the domestic area, and does a lot of volunteer work at the kids' school. We have a new addition to the family too - a Sun Conure named Fletcher. Fletcher and Max, our golden Retriever, complement each other well. Max tries to ignore the bird and Fletcher tries to attack the dog whenever he is near. Fletcher also lets out a loud and very annoying screech whenever some one either knocks on the front door or comes in the house. Max has never been interested in being a watch dog, so now, at least, we have a watch bird. So this now brings our household content up to 4 humans, one dog, one bird, two turtles, and a mess of fish. We unfortunately, lost both our frogs and the eel this year. (And we refuse to include those damn tamagotchi's in the count) :)HARRY AMON 64 and his wife PENNY, live in Austin, TX with their daughter BAILEY. Since the death of Col. Watkins I wanted to tell you what a small world it is. Mrs. Watkins has been Bailey's piano teacher for almost two years!! Until the day we read about his death, we didn't know that Bailey's piano teacher was Janet's mother! Bailey will be in 7th grade this fall, we are so proud of her accomplishments so far which includes first honor roll, student of the month and first chair in flute.TERESA D'ARZA CUSHING 66 I have added Teresa's picture to the Web page along with her significant other, Geoff Gauger and their Scottie dog, McKenzie and their African Gray Parrot, Sadie. We went to bed with light snow and woke up with 45 inches across the front door and yard. It took us two days to dig Trudy's 4X4 out of the garage and mine was buried beside the garage. The Army from Ft. Carson rescued some 200+ people who were stranded. Our granddaughter, Taylor Christine is in the day care center where I work so I usually grab a fast lunch and visit her. Trudy and I took a two week Western European cruise for our 27th anniversary. We saw Paris, England and Ireland, Germany, Holland and Belgium. Jan is also active at church teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, and working with the women's ministry. Richard was just home for spring break. He enjoyed a break from studies and worked part time at Chic-fil-A while he was home. He has been chosen to be a judge in the Miss Teen Texas Pageant at the end of the month at Sam Houston State. He has also been appointed to the student body president's executive board for next year in student government. He will be home in mid-May for summer and plans to attend Blinn Jr. College again. Susan is still busy with her school work and golf. She recently met George Bush, Sr., at the golf course where her team practices. He came into the clubhouse after a round of golf and talked with the girls and gave autographs. She was thrilled! The countdown is on -- she turns 16 on April 13 and gets her driver's license.I received a card from Burleigh Smith's mom, Mrs. Gwen. Smith . Unfortunately Col. Smith has been ill - they have been married for 55 years. Their daughter Lynn had her 2nd child, a boy who joins his older sister. I know you join me in keeping Col Smith ("Mr. Brown" as I affectionately call him) in your thoughts and prayers. They still live in Universal City.I also received a nice card from Herman & Betty Dorman who live in Lakeland, Florida.Lastly, I thought you would enjoy this little bit of news: F. Michael Wood, Jr. got married on May 30th. I'm sure will all remember Mike Wood from the Class of 63 who passed away several years ago. HAPPY SUMMER!!!My Dear Dear Friends.....Hope you all are enjoying a great year!! A new baby arrived for my daughter, Allison - her fourth boy, CHASE DANIEL who joins older brothers, Stephen (8) Cole (5 «) and Mason (2).. Of course, my husband, Danny has fallen in love with his namesake. Allison has turned into a wonderful woman, wife and mother. We are so proud of her. That make six grandsons!! All the other kids are doing great - Mark is still in the Air Force but has decided that the service has too many rules and will terminate his relationship with Uncle Sam at the earliest opportunity. He has decided however, to stay in North Florida. Our other son, Kyle, works for two restaurants - works too hard to support his young family. His sons, Dylan and Tony are growing and developing wonderfully. Our youngest son, Kelly , gets his driver's license in July - He is doing pretty good - we made him take professional driving lessons on top of both of us teaching him. We are real proud of him also - he has learned to make good decisions and I don't think he feels that we are too strict on him although he does test the limits as all teens do. He loves to surf and wakeboard - we are lucky to be near the ocean and lakes for him to be able to do both. He bought a truck that he is dying to take out by himself and he'll probably throw the surfboard in the back of the truck and head for the beach the minute he gets the driver's license. He also plays the guitar and dreams of being in a band. Doesn't that all sound so familiar? As a treat in a few weeks we will be attending the METALICA concert as a family. (Kelly had to stand in line and pay for his tickets - me and Dan have free box seats! We are taking a family vacation in July - we depart Ft. Lauderdale on July 4th and fly to Albuquerque, NM - drive to Sedona, Arizona, then on to the Grand Canyon, then on to Lake Powell - back to Albuquerque and fly home on the 12th of July. We are pretty excited about our trip. Kelly turns 16 on July 21st and Danny and I celebrate our 20th Anniversary on September 15th. How better to celebrate than at the Grand Canyon??!!The only thing new with me is that I have braces on my teeth. Hopefully, I'll be finished with all this dental work by the Reunion in 2000! Boy what a pain! I'm sorry I made fun of all you guys that wore braces in high school -My parents BILL & FRAN CAMPBELL are doing very well. Dad will be 80 years old in December (still riding around on his motorcycle). My beautiful Mom's 77th birthday is this month - I'm sure she won't mind me telling her age because she sure looks years younger! I love you Mom and Dad. I'll see you soon!!

The orchard trees have finished blooming, but azaleas and dogwood trees are still gorgeous. Forgot how pretty the East Coast is this time of year and real live trees, not just evergreens like in the Rockies I do miss real mountains however! House still not all unpacked, boxes still in garage, and I'm back in the saddle. What great extravaganza do you have planned for the year 2000!? I took a new permanent part time job at law firm in Leesburg, across the street from one I am currently working at. I will be doing real estate closings to help out for a while, and then just "float" among the three attorneys there. Less stress....I'm too old for all this good ole boy attorney jazz! I am going home to visit with my Mom next month and do a quilting symposium that I am publicity chairperson for. On August 3, 1997 Sue reported to work at her new job, as principal of Lake County intermediate School in Leadville. After being an administrator in schools of 150 and 250, close to 600 students in this school has been challenging. Her son, Mike, still lives in Golden and is assistant manager at Blockbuster Video and is attending CU, Boulder. Her daughter, Amy, also lives in Golden, Co. also. Sue lives in a fully restored Victorian house. The town she lives in is in the process of becoming a completely restored Victorian Town.LYN MILLS ("Miss Kosh") faculty - lmills@flash.net One correction for me is that I teach 8th grade Computer Literacy classes in the full term and have taught math in summer school for the past 3 summers. I am now teaching 2 Computer Science classes at TCU in the evenings. Needless to say, this keeps me hopping and, most of the time, out of trouble. I do still enjoy teaching (most of the time!!!) -- my 29th year. My youngest daughter, Cheryl, is talking about marriage in a couple of years. By the way she had a brief part as a flapper girl in the movie, The Newton Boys". She is seen on the right side of the screen in a couple of quick scenes flirting with "Dock", the youngest Newton brother. She also has been busy with modeling jobs in New York, London, England, Orlando, Florida, and will be going to CanCun the last part of May plus attending school at the University of Texas in Austin. My oldest Kathleen graduated from William and Mary recently and is starting speech pathology grad school this summer at USC; she'll be living at home. Trip is playing soccer and going to parties at Hampden Sydney College in Virginia. Danny (17) and Claudia (15) are going to the same high school where they both play soccer and run around with the same kids. Claudia's the most responsible person in the family. My family in Texas is doing well. Mom is still teaching music, my two brothers Dan and Mike live in Austin, and Jim is stationed at Kelly AFB in San Antonio. RON BERGQUIST 64 - EMAIL: bergquist@ac.net or bergr@ils.unc.edu I retired from the AF on 1 Jan 95 and we relocated from the Presidio of Monterey, CA (where I had been the Assistant Commandant of the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center) to Pinebluff, a small town in the Sandhills of North Carolina. Dru and I spent most of '95 and '96 restoring our circa 1902 house back into livable condition and have spent '97 working on cleaning up the woods and pond behind the house. I got frustrated with the inadequacies of local government in our first year here and so ran for office in November '95. I was elected to the Town Board of Commissioners and was appointed Mayor Pro Tempore. After an interesting (and somewhat productive two year term), I opted not to run again and have recently given up the office and now I can go back to complaining. Last year, feeling that I was needing some mental exercise, I applied for and was accepted in the Graduate School of Information and Library Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I am now in the midst of finishing up my final papers and projects at the end of my third semester. I am taking it easy, taking three courses per semester, and planning to stay in the program until 1999 or 2000. I will be getting either an MS in Library Science or in Information Science; there are so many interesting courses to take that I haven't yet made up my mind which degree to go for. I have a 90 minute drive each way to class, so I'm keeping my schedule constrained in order to make the drive only three times per week. The courses are very computer intensive, which permits me to do a lot of work at home and use file transfers to send and receive assignments. Believe it or not, I am not the oldest student there. One of my classmates is a 72 year old retired Marine LtCol who retired a second time from UNC a few years ago. He continues to work on the computer courses just to keep himself fresh. He's my idol. Dru and I celebrated (in an extremely low key manner) our 25th anniversary in October and are looking towards at least 25 more. Next year our home will be empty. Yucch. I don't think I'm going to do the "empty nest" thing very gracefully. But what's new? I don't do change of any kind gracefully I'm finding. I am a trustee of the Memorial Hermann Foundation which supports eleven not-for-profit hospitals, and keep busy with fund-raising activities. Bob is retired from active medical practice since his illness ten years ago. He is an avid golfer and does consulting work for the hospital system. Pippa is 22 and graduated from SMU last year. She does marketing for a bank and recently moved into her own apartment. Chelsea is a sophomore at Tulane, majoring in art history (hey, that's useful!) and taking advantage of the pleasures of New Orleans.EARL DODGION 63 - EMAIL: dodgion@amigo.net Myrna got a job here in our local school district for '97-'98 school year. Before that, she was working in Alamosa, about a 100 mile round trip, so she was living most of the time at our house in Alamosa. Now we're all 4 living together in South Fork - keeping the Alamosa house as our place in the "city" (population about 10,000). It's good for family life, and also it's been a good change for her. She's moved from middle school to high school, and is teaching business courses with a lot of computer stuff. Troy (17; high school Jr.) had a good year in football, but decided not to play basketball. This is the first sports' season he's had off since seventh grade. He saw an article in the local paper about an instructors' clinic at the ski area, so he and one of his buddies decided to go to it. They both got hired. We only have school four days a week, so he has three weekend days to go up and work. It's a GREAT deal. If they have a lesson for him, he works, and makes about $50 for four hours' work. If they don't have a lesson for him, he gets to ski free. So far this year, he's skied over 50 days (that's awesome). Needless to say, he's gotten pretty good. Only problem is, he's become a ski fanatic -- wants to go glacier skiing this summer; get a job at some big resort instead of going to college, God knows what. With a little luck, it's just a fantasy. We'll see. (Oh, well) He's also going to the state FBLA competition in Vail in April in "computer concepts". whatever that is. Blaine (15; high school Fr.) is into basketball pretty heavy. He started at point guard on his freshman team that won their league. He's going to state in FBLA, too, in "business communications". (maybe these guys will become super businessmen and support their old man in his old age????)(which is right around the corner). As for me, mainly working. Got moved into my new building about six months ago, and business is going well. I've managed to ski a few times this winter, have a friend who introduced me to racquetball, which is kinda fun, looking forward to summer. Plan to fish some with Blaine (his favorite summer thing), and ride my mountain bike some. For the past 2 « years I have been working with Blackmon Mooring Steamatic. We clean carpets, furniture, drapery, do fire and water restoration after damages. I work in the commercial division, most of my work is done in air duct cleaning for large buildings. It was great to see your web page. Isn't it amazing that the people you have perpetually pictured as eighteen are now grandparents! I graduated in the class of 1967. After trying several colleges, I joined the Navy. I served for eight years, finally completing my bachelor's degree in accounting at Memphis State University. When I got out of the Navy, I moved to Sacramento, CA, where I still live. I used my GI Bill to get a second bachelor's degree in Computer Science and a master's degree in Software Engineering. I am now working as a programmer for the Corps of Engineers, and occasionally teach programming on the side. Those who knew me in high school will not be surprised to learn that I am still bowling! It is something I have always enjoyed, and I have actually improved over the years. It is one of those sports that I can still do -- having had to abandon soccer and basketball as age took over. I have no children of my own, but have a 14 year old stepdaughter who is an avid soccer player. She is hoping to play on her high school team next year.JERRY BALL 65 - email: Jcrsdj@aol.com I anticipate retiring from the Air Force at the end of this year although my boss has asked me to stick around until next summer. It's been a good career, but I'm ready to do something else with my life now. Just don't know what or where! I went to the Air Force Academy after Randolph. Ralph T. "Pete" Hagins, another '65 Ro-Hawk was there also. And as you know, Ward Beightol followed a year later, so three of our RHS class went there. Pete was very successful as a cadet, becoming a cadet group commander (there were eight squadrons in a group and four groups in the entire cadet wing). Let me just say that I graduated. From the Academy, the Air Force sent me to UCLA where, during a break between academic terms in 1969, I drove back to Randolph and married Calla and then went back to California and picked up my M.A. in Economics in 1970. After UCLA we returned to San Antonio (at Brooks AFB in the Air Force Human Resources Laboratory). The following year I went to Viet Nam where I spent eighteen months in the Advanced Research Projects Agency, returning to the States in 1973 about three months before the end of the Viet Nam War. My assignment at Air Force Logistics Command ended in 1975 with my resignation from the Regular Air Force. I became a Texas Aggie. Earned an M.S. and a PhD in Statistics. I also stayed in the Air Force Reserve as a part-timer. While a student at A&M, my two older boys, Richard and Scott, were born. I was recalled to active duty in 1979 to attend Air Command & Staff College where my third son, Daniel, was born. He has Down Syndrome. After ACSC, I returned to civilian life and became a civil service worker back at Randolph. In 1982, Calla and our three sons were delighted to see the arrival of a daughter, Janna. We left Randolph in 1985 to accept a promotion and an assignment to the staff at the United States Army War College in Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania. While there, my Reserve assignment was with the Joint Staff at the Pentagon. I was having lunch with a friend of mine at the Pentagon in 1986 when he asked me if I would be interested in returning to active duty for four years to fill a position in personnel analysis that had been vacant for a year. I thought that would be interesting so I said "yes" and came back on active duty as a lieutenant colonel in 1986. I spent over nine straight years in the DC area - three on the Air Staff, one at the Industrial College of the Armed Forces as a student, four and a half in the Air Force Secretariat, and one on the faculty of National Defense University. In 1995, I was transferred to Scott AFB, IL. I expect to retire from the Air Force this December as a colonel after twenty years of active duty spread out over thirty years of commissioned service. From there, I don't know where we'll go. There is so much to do but it is beautiful up here and the view is wonderful. I'm still working in Fredericksburg. It is a dream come true to be able to work there because it is a big vacation, shopping spot. It is also becoming a big retirement spot. The Texas hill country is very popular for snow bird relocation as well as for Texans. The land is getting very expensive. Everyone wants to live out of town or in the country. First time being a country girl and loving it. Muffin and Angel (my Yorkies) are fine and spoiled. I am still the Director of Nurses for a home health agency in Fredericksburg, Texas. Son, Jimmy married Kim in November or 1997. Son, John and Donna are fine. Grandchildren, Jennifer is going on 7 and grandson, Ian, just turned 2. Momma and Dad are fine and still in San Antonio. My sister, Susan who teaches school (SUSAN FRANCIS STRODE 65) has been spending a lot of time here with me. Her husband, Buck, has been working in Dallas and now has a job in San Antonio starting in May. He's been renovating a Holiday Inn and making it into a Marriott. They are in the process of building on their property that is 4 miles from here in Sisterdale, Texas. (just outside Comfort-which is just up from Boerne) It is on a hillside and stands out beautifully. Well, for starters I got married 8 years ago to a wonderful person, Julie. In fact we had a long distance relationship for almost 2 years, then she decided to move out to California. A while later we were married in Chicago, May 26th 1990. And guess what? I have a new daughter name Alyssa Ann Peck who is now 3.5 years old. Can you believe at my age (our age) in having another kid. She is just great and loves her Daddy. I am sure you remember Kevin my son, well he lives in Santa Cruz and works in San Jose and is now engaged. They come by and sometimes when Julie and I (my wife) want to be alone for dinner or a show they will sit with Alyssa. I am Director of Sales for High Tech Industries at i2 Technologies. The company is located in Dallas Texas and we sell Supply Chain Decision Support systems (software) for large corporations. I work out of our San Francisco office and my sales team calls on the top 100 high tech companies in the US and Canada. My carrier started with Memorex Corporation where I spent 13 years, left them and joined Amdahl Corporation as Director of National Accounts. This is where I met Julie who at the time was living in Chicago where she is from. She is still with Amdahl, in addition to being a great mother and wife. I cannot describe how wonderful Alyssa is and the joy she brings Julie and I. Not to mention how she keeps me young, and I definitely need that. On a free day during my trip I took a tour of NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab, where all the deep space probes are managed (Voyager, Mars Probe, etc.). I had to drive down the Pacific Coast Highway to San Diego, had business in Newport Beach and Irvine, and also had to go to Pasadena and Venice Beach. In spite of the freeway congestion, I have always loved Southern California, its beaches and mountains. My Mother, Mary Steed, turned 90 on Jan. 2, 1998. We had a big celebration for her. She's in Kansas City, MO...where my sister Janice lives. Mother is ill now, she has pneumonia, and can use lots of prayers. The Drs. say she should be all right since they caught it quickly. Mac and I are going out to KC next week. Our son, Charles is doing well in Fairfax, VA. He recently got promoted, too. Second biggest news: Daughter, May, is back from a six-month work-visa stay in England. She was a counselor at an Art Camp in New York last summer, and most of the other counselors were from England in an exchange program for which they talked her into applying. Get this: before they would let her into the country to work, she had to prove she could leave in six months: round trip ticket. She had to carry a "Green Card" with her at all times, and she had to register with the local police. Sounds like something the USA ought to be doing. I remember very clearly walking into the "new" high school, and being cognizant of the fact that we were on trial. The Air Force wasn't sure if they should go to the expense of building their own high schools. I distinguished myself by being the only football injury in 66 -- I was a member of the pepsquad who fell and broke my ankle going down to the field... embarrassing!! I ended up graduating from a Michigan high school, attended the University of Michigan, married a dentist, have 2 daughters and 2 granddaughters. I was on our local city council for 13 years and finally mayor of the city for 4 years. As the years have passed I've been an EMT on an ambulance service, and a real estate agent. The world holds so many interesting professions, had to try my hand at a few. I love to act in our community theater. Gloria, thanks for continuing on with the newsletter. I go back up to the Queen Charlotte Islands on July 4th. Diana goes back to Kentucky in April for her quilting show. We are going on a 10-day cruise on the Mexican Riviera in October. This is about our 5th time so we don't even get off the ship. It's just nice to get away for awhile and it leaves from San Diego so we are home in 30 minutes after we get off the ship. Well, I'm 13 years at IBM now and have a great job as a lab tech in a development group that does software testing for network computers. I am still xeriscaping my front yard....had a great camping trip with Mary Bird to Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, and Natural Bridges National Monument. Then visited old friends near Capitol Reef National Park and Moab, Utah. I escorted my mom to the Dedication of the Women in Military Service Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery in D.C. in October. It was quite the historic occasion to see all those women, young and old, some in their uniforms. My mom was an Army nurse in WWII, on Bataan and Corregedor when the Philippines fell to the Japanese.JEFF LINDLEY 66 I am currently living and swinging (golf) in New Braunfels with first wife, Marty of 28+ years. Moved to area in 1994 from Tempe where I was a General Contractor for 15 years. Am still at it, both residential and commercial projects, new and old. Marty, is an MAI appraiser, currently working in another career. In 1998 we will begin some small commercial developments in or near the city. Daughter Jessica is married to Scott Spenser and living in Charlotte, NC. Will probably return to Texas in near future. His parents live one block away from my parents, M/G Wm. C. And Roselyn, in Windcrest. (They met in Dallas and did not know of this phenomenon until later). I have had regular contact with other members - Tom Madsen with wife Debbie living in Austin. I would like to organize a golf tournament for interested hackers in 1998. I will be contacting local class members, maybe even McDougall and Allshouse, at a later date. I remain, still a graduate of RHS.ED BURTENSHAW 65 Greetings fro the Burtenshaws in Florida. Casey is eleven and in the Fifth Grade. He is evolving in the normal ways of a preadolescent male - getting bigger, becoming more independent, pushing the limits, developing all of those endearing characteristics of a teenager. He is exasperating at times, and we are very, very proud of him. Molly will turn ten at the end of December and is in the fourth grade. She has not yet acquired many of her brother's rebellious traits, but then, she hasn't needed any, for she has her own individual style. We see a lot of her mother in Molly. Her lifestyle is exemplified by a T-shirt she got last year in a gifted class: "Question Everything!" As for the (relatively) more mature representatives in this family, both of us are muddling through. Ed continues to work for AARP, doing political stuff on the federal level. He is away from home far too often, traveling both all around Florida and other partes of the country. Mary Clare continues to work in the domestic area, and does a lot of volunteer work at the kids' school. We have a new addition to the family too - a Sun Conure named Fletcher. Fletcher and Max, our golden Retriever, complement each other well. Max tries to ignore the bird and Fletcher tries to attack the dog whenever he is near. Fletcher also lets out a loud and very annoying screech whenever some one either knocks on the front door or comes in the house. Max has never been interested in being a watch dog, so now, at least, we have a watch bird. So this now brings our household content up to 4 humans, one dog, one bird, two turtles, and a mess of fish. We unfortunately, lost both our frogs and the eel this year. (And we refuse to include those damn tamagotchi's in the count) :)HARRY AMON 64 and his wife PENNY, live in Austin, TX with their daughter BAILEY. Since the death of Col. Watkins I wanted to tell you what a small world it is. Mrs. Watkins has been Bailey's piano teacher for almost two years!! Until the day we read about his death, we didn't know that Bailey's piano teacher was Janet's mother! Bailey will be in 7th grade this fall, we are so proud of her accomplishments so far which includes first honor roll, student of the month and first chair in flute.TERESA D'ARZA CUSHING 66 I have added Teresa's picture to the Web page along with her significant other, Geoff Gauger and their Scottie dog, McKenzie and their African Gray Parrot, Sadie. Teresa has two granddaughters, Erica and Amanda, who she loves to visit in Hawaii every time she gets a chance to visit her son Kevin. Geoff and Teresa have joined a bridge club and Teresa started an investment club. They enjoy their friends and offer their extra bedroom to any traveling Ro-Hawk who finds themself in Fairfax, VA.KEN DEVERS 63 writes from Colorado Springs - Life goes on for us as usual except for the "Blizzard of 97". We went to bed with light snow and woke up with 45 inches across the front door and yard. It took us two days to dig Trudy's 4X4 out of the garage and mine was buried beside the garage. The Army from Ft. Carson rescued some 200+ people who were stranded. Our granddaughter, Taylor Christine is in the day care center where I work so I usually grab a fast lunch and visit her. My daughter, Bridget, works for MCI so Taylor comes home with me when she has to work late. (You can see a picture of Taylor and Ken on the web page). Trudy and I took a two week Western European cruise for our 27th anniversary. We saw Paris, England and Ireland, Germany, Holland and Belgium. The trip was a life-changing experience for him. One highlight of the trip was that he baptized three ladies from our church in the Jordan River. Jan is still teaching junior high math. Jan is also active at church teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, and working with the women's ministry. Richard was just home for spring break. He enjoyed a break from studies and worked part time at Chic-fil-A while he was home. He has been chosen to be a judge in the Miss Teen Texas Pageant at the end of the month at Sam Houston State. He has also been appointed to the student body president's executive board for next year in student government. He will be home in mid-May for summer and plans to attend Blinn Jr. College again. Susan is still busy with her school work and golf. She recently met George Bush, Sr., at the golf course where her team practices. He came into the clubhouse after a round of golf and talked with the girls and gave autographs. She was thrilled! The countdown is on -- she turns 16 on April 13 and gets her driver's license.I received a card from Burleigh Smith's mom, Mrs. Gwen. Smith . Unfortunately Col. Smith has been ill - they have been married for 55 years. Their daughter Lynn had her 2nd child, a boy who joins his older sister. I know you join me in keeping Col Smith ("Mr. Brown" as I affectionately call him) in your thoughts and prayers. They still live in Universal City.I also received a nice card from Herman & Betty Dorman who live in Lakeland, Florida.Lastly, I thought you would enjoy this little bit of news: F. Michael Wood, Jr. got married on May 30th. I'm sure will all remember Mike Wood from the Class of 63 who passed away several years ago. This news brought a happy memory of Michael to me - I was sure you would feel the same.THANK YOU for another great year of support - I know this letter brings you good news of those you may remember fondly - Like I said in the last newsletter, this is a time to cherish our friendships, our health and, our family.
