Merry Christmas - Happy New Year!!My Dear Dear Friends.....I hope you all had a good year. I certainly did - thanks to all of you, my family and my "other" friends. In July my husband gave me a surprise 50th birthday party and lots of my friends came by to help celebrate. Also a lot of you RoHawks sent gifts and cards welcoming me to the Golden Years. I have a hard time believing that I'm 50 years old and I'm a grandmother of five with another grandchild on the way!! Geez, wasn't it yesterday that I was walking down the halls of RHS working my way to senior English class with Mr. Posey? My family is doing well. We are still here in South Florida - our son, Kelly, is 15 - he surfs and bugs me to take him driving all the time since he got his learner's permit. Do you know how scary it is to drive here - especially with a 15 year old at the wheel? Kelly is a sophomore in High School now and on his way to graduating with the Class of 2000. Dan's been working/golfing/fishing/boating and we have both learned how to roller blade. Danny's much better than me - mostly, he just pulls me along. (I need "slower" skates). I still work for an attorney in Boca Raton, Florida as a paralegal and Danny works for a car dealership in West Palm Beach. The Pechuls progeny are still multiplying - My daughter Allison (28) is having another baby in April, 1998. That will be 4 kids for her!! My son, Mark (27) is in the Air Force and stationed at Hurlburt Field in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida (Eglin AFB). My other son, Kyle (27), is working as a kitchen manager at a local restaurant - he and his wife have two boys. They are all doing well and they are ALL healthy. My parents, Bill and Fran Campbell continue to do well. Mom had orthoscopic knee surgery in July and has bounced back like a teenager! My father is active in the American Legion in the small Kentucky town (Somerset) they live in - they do military funerals, among other things. (A really upbeat past time). I visited them in July with my oldest Grandson, Stephen in August and then again by myself in October. It's nice to go home and just be a daughter. My dad owns a 1990 Honda Goldwing SE. (This is his 5th bike). He turns 79 in December and still loves to ride. He is a member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association and attends rallies when he can. He also recently received his 50 year certificate and pin as a Scottish Rite Mason.I've been working really hard on the new Ro-Hawk Web Page - I hope you can all check it out and enjoy it. More information follows.I hope this year has been good for you and that next year is even better! God Bless You!
Danny, Gloria and KellyTHANKS TO THE FOLLOWING FOR THE DONATIONS: Gretchen Egge Gagos, Mrs. Dyas, Ward Beightol, Ruby Fitzpatrick, Mrs. Jane Darling, Col & Mrs. Borellis. Thanks also for the non-financial donations of good wishes, love, joy and peace.
RO-HAWK WEB PAGEThere is a new way to contact other Ro-Hawks! If you have a computer and you are online with access to the Internet you can access our new ROHAWK WEB PAGE by typing in the following address:
http://members.aol.com/Gutsking/index.htmEveryone's e-mail address is listed on the page (at least the addresses I have knowledge of). If you have not done so previously, please e-mail me with your address by either sending me e-mail through the web page or by regular e-mail (or regular snail mail) - also, if you enter the web page you will see lots of pictures and surprises. If you send me pictures I will scan them and place them in the page (if you don't send pictures I'll start digging in my photo albums or old annuals - you wouldn't want your senior class picture to be in there would you?) - even if you do not have a computer - I will still be able to enter your pictures or any comments you want to share with other Ro-Hawks. Merry Christmas + Happy New Year
Dear Friends-
Did you miss me? I've been busy... I was out trying to get a few "Tickle Me Elmos" for my grandsons!!! We have been fine - just busy like everyone else.
Kelly has been surfing everyday after school; Dan's been working/golfing/fishing/boating - mowing the lawn, etc.; I've been working overtime, taking care of the grandchildren, driving up to Jacksonville to see Allison; "doing lunch" and going to the movies with my friends.
We added two more to our family this year....Allison had another son on Mother's Day, May 12th. His name is JOHN MASON (we call him Mason) - However, his other grandpa (Grandpa John) calls him Johnny. Then July 28th, my son Kyle and his wife had another son, ANTHONY TAYLOR JEAN (Tony). So that brings the total number of grandsons to FIVE - no girls in there at all. STEPHEN is 6 1/2, COLE is 4 1/2, DYLAN is 20 months, MASON is 7 months and little TONY is 4 1/2 months. Allison is still in Jacksonville, working full time for a lawyer, taking care of her three sons, still nursing the baby part time, makes her own baby food (where did she learn how to do all that?) Mark is in the Air Force - he got through basic at Lackland AFB and is now stationed at Hurlburt Field in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida (It's a part of Eglin AFB). He's very happy and is talking about making the Air Force a career. Our other son Kyle is dealing with life as a new father of two boys under 2 and needless to say - has been stressed out.
Kelly is 14 1/2 now and is a freshman in high school - he's a member of the concert band (he says he can play the saxophone - but I've never heard him play a whole song) - he also doodles on his electric guitar and is a member of the surf club at school. I think he's somehow going to find a way to permanently be at the beach. He's taller and lankier - has bleached his hair - Yeah, we should make it out alive OK this year !! :)
Danny and I celebrated our 18th anniversary in September, still in the same house, same town, same state - boy is this a novel idea or what? I never lived in one place before longer than 3 years!!! I still move the furniture around once every so often just to make me feel like I've moved.
May you have health, wealth and prosperity in 1997. God Bless You.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Danny, Gloria and Kelly
PERSONALS:
First of all, thank you to all who wrote me and sent donations in 1996 - I really want to hear from you and share what you allow me to with all our friends - Or the "just for my eyes only" information. I would like to tell you how much I appreciate your letters - I also appreciate the donations for stamps and printing. I thought about not doing the newsletter and just stopping - but when I started getting the Christmas cards this year I just couldn't stop. So since my time has been somewhat strained at the moment, I intend to do the newsletter once a year - hopefully around Christmas - I have plenty of funds for future newsletters - so I'll just keep on as long as I can as long as I hear from you. Address changes are only good for one year - so if you move and don't notify me - I'll lose you - so please keep me on your change of address list. Please note that my area code has changed to 561.
THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES:
The first item I would like to mention is the passing of MIKE BROWN - October, 1995 - Class of 1966. Before Mike died he wrote me with exciting news that he had become a grandpa - his daughter Michelle had a daughter, Amanda, in January 1995. His daughter Jean got married in July and Mike was there for the wedding. I know those of you that knew Mike will be saddened to hear this - but Mike's mom tells me that Mike really enjoyed life even though he had been ill - and from the letters I received I know how much he loved his three daughters and his new granddaughter. We'll miss you Mike - another star is shining above.

NOT - what, am I crazy - it's 80 degrees outside here....!!!!!

JOANNA DYAS SMITH had a very conflicted year in 1996 - depending on how you look at it. Joanna had major surgery and underwent radiation and chemo - so far she has tested clean. Husband, Butch is working for the State of Texas Division of Emergency Management; daughter Melissa is a Junior at the Air Force Academy, daughter Jody is at Texas Tech. I'm sure I can speak for all of us who send hugs and prayers to Joanna as she faces the future. We are with you Joanna - feel it?
NANCY OLSEN GIAMBALVO and her family are still in Dallas - but are hoping for a move soon back to Virginia; daughter, Marissa is a sophomore at SMU and son Ross is doing great in school.

Trevor is a sophomore at TCU and Derek is a sophomore at Derek. Margaret Ann is still working at Gary's office - Gary is working hard in his medical practice.
BONNIE REED GALLOGLY unfortunately lost both her parents last year 11 months apart. Her family is still in the San Francisco Bay area where Bonnie teaches school; daughter Hilary is 16 and son Reed is 14.
Sgt. and Mrs. Bill Fitzpatrick write that they are fine and still in the Randolph area - I haven't heard from (their son) BILL FITZPATRICK but they tell me that he is still in Omaha and doing great. MIKE FITZPATRICK and his wife are in the DC area where he works for the bureau of Prisons.
OTHER CARDS and LETTERS WERE RECEIVED FROM: MORRISON WOODS, ART NIGRO (from Australia) Parents, Hermand and Betty Dorman and LINDA TUCKER PRATER

THANK YOU for another great year of support - I hope this letter brings you news of those you may remember fondly - Unfortunately, a lot of people passed on in the last few years. I suppose it is something at our age that we should come to expect. It's also a time for us to look inward and ask ourselves if we have done all we can in the first half of our lives. - It's a time to look toward the future with hope and knowledge that we have done our best. It's a time to cherish our friendships, our health, our children, our spouses/significant others and our parents. A time to look to our Higher Power and be thankful that we are alive and basically sane. Thanks again, be well in 1997 - Until next time - HAVE A GREAT YEAR!
Love,
Gloria Jean

So many of you are now On-Line with one service or the other. I'm hoping you will keep in touch with me through that avenue. I have communicated electronically with:
GARY ERICKSON (LOGOMORPH@aol.com) who has thrilled me with his fishing stories. Gary is still in San Francisco in law enforcement - and writing a fly fishing newsletter and freelance consulting.
BILL BORELLIS (BBORELLIS@aol.com) - Bill had a scare when one of his daughters (Jade) and her friend got caught in a rip current on off the coast of San Diego. Thankfully, they were saved and all ended happily. Bill is still working hard with the LA School District and his insurance business.
EARL DODGION (dodgion@rmii.com) - who has delighted me with his stories about snow skiing, commercial real estate ventures, his teenage sons sports triumphs, and intrigued me with son Troy's experiences in learning to drive (an experience I will relive in a few short months); his beer and Bar-B-Que parties - Reading Earl's descriptions of the changing seasons of Colorado is mesmerizing - kinda makes me want to move there!!! NOT - what, am I crazy - it's 80 degrees outside here....!!!!!
JANET FRANCIS JEWETT MURILLO (recently back to JEWETT) (JJewett775@aol.com) - Janet has moved back to San Antonio - she's near her parents and her sister SUSAN. Janet's parents have had some serious health problems - Dad with pneumonia and her mom with a major heart attack. All is well now. Janet has a new grandson, IAN ROBERT who joins little sister JENNIFER. Janet is still in the nursing business and works in the home health area. P.S. SUSAN is still in San Antonio and teaching.
JILL WAGNER PORTER (JILLMOM@aol.com) - Jill's son is 18 and is a freshman at Berkeley and her daughter is 14 and in high school. They live in LA - but travel to Australia where most of their business is located.

Needless to say, she's sorta busy....
ANN DORMAN WEDDLE (aweddle@tenet.edu) - Ann is still with the San Antonio school district - her daughter, Mandy, graduated from college and has tried out her hand being a nanny and may get into teaching, son, Tres, is working at Starbucks. Ann and her husband will celebrate their 28th anniversary in April.
GAIL STEED McILHANY (GailMcil@aol.com) Gail has been studying her family roots - researching records in the courthouses and finding a connection to an ancestor who come over to America from England in 1680. Their son, Charlie, lives in Fairfax, VA and works as a title examiner for the VA Dept. of Transportation.
JANET WATKINS JENDRON (jjendron@scsn.net) - Janet's correspondence is always interesting - with four kids, a full time job and a bewildered husband - how could it not? She is working for the state Assistive Technology Project (South Carolina) - and she is still on the Board of Directors of the La Leche League and still travels on speaking engagements for the league.
DOUG GREENLEAF (74627.2770@CompuServe.com) or (DJG@MFG1.TRACOR.COM) - In the beginning of 1996 Doug's mother passed away. Doug has been working on his house near Austin and he's doing the work himself.
TERRY (Go Gators) SMILJANICH (Tsmiljan@aol.com) - Terry enjoyed several trips this year - mostly up to their "country" home in Gainesville, one to D.C., Hiltonhead, SC, New York - some business and some pleasure and some following the #1 Ranked College Team - The Gators! around - working hard and winning cases.

Jan is teaching math at College Station Junior High and husband Bill is in his third year as a pastor of Parkway Baptist Church.
CAROL TURNIPSEED HABERLE (HABERLE@MSN.com) - Carol is showing great strength and spirit although she is suffering with Multiple Sclerosis. Now with her e-mail address you have no excuse to not contact her.

PATTIE TYLER (ptyler@austin.ibm.com) is still living in Austin, working for IBM - she reports that her mom is doing well and real active at 85 and her brother Charlie has two grandchildren!
********************************
WEWER KEOHANE a/k/a DEE WEWER - has had several exhibitions of her art works in and around Colorado.
CHUCK PECHULS has been hard at work - he still has his furniture refinishing business that he is trying to wind down. At the moment he is building out what he hopes will be the new "in" place to go around his neighborhood "where everyone knows your name" - an English type Pub in the Lauderhill area of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Chuck is also busy doing parties and clubs as "Chaz" singing the songs that we all love to hear. Chuck plans to do his gig full time at his new Pub.
SHARON MOORHEAD WOODS still loves her job at Liberty University (Lynchburg, VA); daughter Alexis is going to school in Tallahassee. Sharon's Dad, Jesse, had bypass surgery in June - is doing great and still playing golf.

Husband, Steve is still living and working in Golden (Coors). Her daughter Amy is to be married this August. Son, Mike is a sophomore at C.U. Sadly, Susan's mom passed away in March.
It was very good to hear from DELORES BEIGHTOL - her and her daughters have finally moved to Rockdale, TX - Delores is teaching, daughter, Julie is going to Texas A&M and Amy entered Blinn college. She is enjoying being near her family at last and feels good to be "back home".

merry christmas and happy new year!
Hello from Florida! We hope this year has been good for you all. We've had an interesting year. The outcome has been very good. My son, Kelly, 13, is now taller than me (not saying too much) but anyway, he's doing well - Danny is now the General Manager at a used car dealership in Lake Worth, Florida. (It's up the road a piece). He's been there for 2 weeks. He worked there last year and he was asked to return as GM. The lawyer I work for decided to rejoin the attorneys he previously worked with in their new firm - so we moved back across town to a new office in September. It's nice to be in a larger office again. Danny and I continue to do well and we are basically physically healthy - although our mental health is questionable!
My other children are well. Allison and her family are doing fine in Jacksonville. We have visited with each other several times since they moved. In fact, we were there for Thanksgiving and they came here for Christmas. It was such a pleasure to see her two boys wake up and see the gifts under the tree - Stephen and Cole had a great Christmas - Allison and Marwin will have their first baby in May and they are hoping for a girl. This will be our 4th grandchild.
Mark still lives with Chuck and is working with him in Ft. Lauderdale. Kyle and Donna have moved to Boca Raton and are living with her parents with her son, Mike and their son, Dylan Kyle Pechuls (we've been calling him "Dill Pickle"). Little Dylan isn't so little anymore - he is 18 pounds and growing daily. He's a chubby little baby and real happy. He's 8 months old but because of his prematurity is 4 months behind in development. But he is as healthy as can be. Thank God! Kyle has decided on a career change and is going to school and working part time to become a hair stylist like his wife.
I guess the biggest event this month was that we finally got the sailfish that Dan caught last year. It took over a year to stuff and mount it! It's a beautiful 7-foot sailfish that we hung proudly on our TV room wall.
We just had a great Christmas Day - all the kids came over - also lots of friends dropped in all during the day. Unfortunately - the power went off at 8 am - about the time I put the turkey in the oven - I already had a ham - but I knew it wouldn't feed everyone and not everyone liked ham - so we improvised by turning on the grill and cooking frozen chicken breasts. Also I wrapped some corn on the cob in foil and put them and a pot of baked beans on the grill. I opened some cans of pineapple and mandarin oranges and some fresh strawberries and put all that in a bowl - had some heat and serve rolls (that I didn't heat) - some chips and dip and lots of pie - It worked and we had a great dinner - it was a little cold (unbelievably it was 35 or 40 degrees here in So. Florida that day) that's why the power was off - everyone got up and turned on their heaters at the same time! The power came on about 1:30 PM - my turkey was done about 4 - however, all out guests had left. So please come to visit me and I will fill you with big turkey sandwiches!
NEWS FROM ALL OVER
BILL BORELLIS - Bill reports that he has had a very successful year - personally and spiritually, as well as financially. He continues to enjoy great times with his three children. Bill has been working with the Los Angeles School district as a public relations consultant - Bill also has his own insurance and consulting business and lives in Sherman Oaks, CA. You can reach him at BBORELLIS@aol.com
FRED CAMPBELL, is still living in Dallas - my brother has closed one business and opened another one. He is still a real estate broker but he has expanded his horizons. Remember to call "Fred Campbell Realty" if you need a home in Dallas. Fred lives in DeSoto, TX
TERESA DeARZA CUSHING - speaking of real estate - Teresa has joined Pat Manganello Fales in Pat's real estate business in Northern Virginia (near Washington DC) as a real estate agent at Re/Max Elite Properties. Teresa also still works for the Environmental Protection Agency in the Office of Research and Development Budget Office. She is still with her significant other, Geoff. Her son, Jason, graduated from the University of Florida and her other son, Kevin and his wife, have two daughters, Erika and Amanda. Teresa lives in Annandale, VA.
PAT MANGANELLO FALES qualified for the Platinum Club - less than 3% of the nearly 40,000 RE/MAX agents in the world qualified last year. Congratulations. Pat is now located in the World Wide Web at http://www.cquest.com/patfales.html - be sure to check it out.
ANN DORMAN WEDDLE - is still living in San Antonio, TX - Ann still works for the San Antonio school district. Their children, Mandy and Tres, have decided to move back in with Mom and Dad for awhile - Mandy is out of college and will try the San Antonio job market. They spent this Christmas in Indiana. Ann can be reached on the net at aweddle@tenet.edu
KEN DEVERS - Congratulations are in order for Ken and his family - Ken and Trudy just celebrated their 25th anniversary and they became grandparents - Their daughter, Bridget had a baby girl in April, Taylor Christine. They are planning an Alaska trip next summer and hopefully take the cruise from Seattle to Anchorage.
EARL DODGION and his family have spent a lot of this year moving and getting settled in a new home. Actually, they are still maintaining two homes for awhile longer (one is in South Fork and the other in Alamosa, CO). Both his sons are heavy into sports and Earl is kept busy not only with his dental practice but in driving the boys from game to game and tournament to tournament. One of these days ask him about his move to South Fork. You can reach Earl at dodgion@rmii.com
GARY ERICKSON (73063.1360@compuserve.com) has been busy with work (law enforcement in Marin County, San Francisco area), fishing and consulting on and providing technical forensic information for several writers and pursuing other interesting things.
TERRY SMILJANICH (Tsmiljan@aol.com) Terry and Dorothy live in St. Petersburg, FL and have been traveling around following the University of Florida play football. They have also been spending a lot of time at their place near Gainesville which is conveniently close to the University.. They will also go to Phoenix on December 30th to watch the Gators play Nebraska. Also Terry has been surfing the Internet and discovered Mike Wagner's name in some Web Sites, particularly as a former executive producer on Star Trek: The Next Generation. GO GATORS!
JEFF AND JACKIE DARLING ANDERSON - they missed the reunion because of work problems. Jeff is now working for Nichols Research (government contract work). Jackie is still working for a lawyer (same guy for 7 years)...Their boys are fine - Reagan will graduate from the University of British Columbia in the spring and wants to be an osteopath physician. Shaun will be married on Dec. 31st in Belize. Jeff will be the best man. Jackie's mom, Jane, is a very active lady - she has literally walked all over the United States. She only has 2 more states and she will have walked every state!
Best Wishes to KAREN POOR PECK for continued recuperation from surgery.
CAROLE McRAE RICHARDS - living in San Antonio and working for USAA. Carole went to Virginia to see her friend retire from the Air Force Nurse Corps after 29 years. She described the ceremony which sounded real impressive. Her daughter Laura is planning a trip to Washington DC after the New Year. Carole's parents visited Alaska with a group of old friends. Hi Daisy!
JAN RIMMER MUSKE - and her family now live in College Station, TX where her husband is a pastor at Parkway Baptist Church. They had their 25th anniversary in march and took a two and 1/2 week mission trip to Nairobi in Kenya, Africa in June and July (good enough reason to miss the reunion). They also bought and moved into a new home. Son, Richard, turned 17 and is a junior at A&M Consolidated High School and wants to eventually become a pastor. Daughter, Susan, is in eighth grade - she'll be going on a school trip to Europe during spring break in March. Jan is teaching at Bryan High School and is teaching TAAS math at College Station Junior High School.
GARY BIRD and his family are still in New Braunfels and enjoying their life. Gary has merged with four other doctors to form Hill Country Medical Associates. Congrats.
BONNIE HORNE McKEEVER writes from Oklahoma - she's still working for a CPA and gearing up for the new tax season! Her boys are all doing well.
SUE LIVINGSTON JOHNSON sends exciting news - She is now an elementary principal (Hooper Elementary) in a small rural district which is located in the San Luis Valley of Colorado. She lives in Alamosa and commutes to work one way 22 miles. Their family has been living in separate homes since this new promotion - husband Steve is still in Golden and working for Coors. Daughter Amy is engaged and is to be married next September.
PATTIE TYLER lives in Austin, TX. She had a summer vacation in New England and traveled through Vermont.
WEWER KEOHANE (DeeWewer) just published her sixth book! She has a one-woman show of her paintings and sculptures this March. Dee lives in Carbondale, CO.
PAM PRATT VILES and her family are still in Houston. Her husband's health has improved greatly and he is enjoying golf and is working on an MBA in Managed Care. Daughter Pippa is a junior at SMU and Chelsea is a senior in high school. Sadly, Pam's brother, Bill, passed away in September after a long illness. Our prayers are with you and your family. Thanks for the beautiful picture - how did you get the cat to pose so good?
MIKE FAUSETT and his wife, Diana traveled to Tahiti for a few weeks and cruised on the Windstar. They fed stingrays and sharks on Bora Bora. They sent some really awesome pictures. Their oldest daughter is getting married in January and they are hoping to visit Canada in July. Mike is still in Lakeside, CA.
DOUG GREENLEAF has been sweet enough to keep in touch with me constantly through the "net" - he is still loving the new Chevy Blazer he bought right after the Reunion. He's on his way to California to visit his folks for Christmas - Doug is currently in the process of building a small A-frame cabin on a piece of property East of Austin near Bastrop (piece by piece).
Thank you to GAIL STEED and MAC McILHANY for sending me a copy of the video Mac took at the Reunion. It was great and lots of fun watching all of us again. Thanks again guys - I really appreciate it.
Our thoughts are with JOHN HINES and CAROL HINES HOFFMAN and their families.. Their father Bill Hines passed away in August of this year. He was 72 years old and passed away of a heart attack. Everyone who knew him loved and respected him. He is dearly missed by family and friends. You will remember that John and Carol's mom worked at R.H.S. for over 20 years. Phil says he's lost 27 pounds and grown a beard. No time to shave when you are working for the government!!! Except when there is a shutdown.
JOE SCROGGINS is real happy to be back in Dallas. He is in telephone sales with the telephone company and hoping to be transferred back to publishing after March. At that time he will also be moving back to the condo he owns that he rented while he was in the "other state".

merry christmas and happy new year!

REUNION - 1995 - 30 YEARS!!
New Braunfels as most of you will remember is still a small town - however, it has grown into a nice little tourist town. There are the many rivers - tubing and the resort and water park - SCHLITTERBAHN - the natural springs of the rivers combine with slides and tubes and lots of very cold water. Also, in there is Sea World in San Antonio and the Zoo! Landa Park has pools, mini golf, boating and tubing and more. Also Sea World and Fiesta Texas is nearby. The price to any of these attractions is not included in the reunion fee.
Our committee has been working long and hard to bring this fun weekend to us - I hope you all can make it and have another memorable Reunion. We wanted to bring something a little different to you - and I hope we have inspired you to change any plans you may have made and come "home" to Texas and see your old friends one more time. Included in this newsletter are: Reunion Registration form, Golf Tournament form, Accommodations list and maps. I'm sure you can find your way. Get together and stay in the same hotels or call each other and offer your homes to guests.

REUNION 1995
Randolph A.F.B. and New Braunfels, Texas
Friday - June 16,1995
On Friday night several members of the classes of 1963-1966 and some later graduating classes met at the Randolph High School in the gym. The school was opened and we were able to walk around. I found my locker - at least I think it was my locker. We all remarked that the cafeteria looked so small. An RHS Booster Club representative was on hand to sell us Ro-Hawk T-Shirts, caps, cups, sweat shirts, pennants. We got reacquainted with people we haven't seen in 5 years and some "first timers" that we haven't seen in 30 years. At 9:00 PM we left Randolph High behind us and we drove over to the Officer's Club. After going down to the Auger Inn and not being able to squeeze through the crowd or hear anything over the noise of the band - we went upstairs where there was a much "older" crowd where we were able to talk and catch up on old times. About Midnight we went down to the Auger Inn - danced to the band and watched some Marine Pilots make fools of themselves. At 2:00 A.M. we left and either went back to our hotels, homes or out to Breakfast. Our group went down to JIMS - somehow it looked familiar - I think we've been there after every reunion! My husband and I were joined by ROGER LONDON, CAROLE McRAE RICHARDS, KAREN POOR PECK and her husband, BOB, EARL DODGION, and STEVE BURGOON.
SATURDAY - June 17th
Saturday morning, those that could got up early for a Golf Tournament at Landa Park in New Braunfels. These are the final results of the tournament:Ist Place: 11 under parMIKE WYSONGBELL BORELLISGEORGE McCLUGHANHARRYJOHNSON2nd Place: 8 under parBOBPECKDANNY GALLAGHERTOM MADSEN3rd Place: 7 under parJEFF LINDLEYRICK NORTONDAVID McDOWELLLongest Drive: BILL BORELLIS Closest to Hole: GEORGE McCLUGHAN (Lucky Shot!) HARRY JOHNSON - knocked in 7 birdies - whatever that means.John Hines and Jimmy O'Brien walked the course but didn't play. Trophies were handed out as well as souvenir golf tees.
Saturday Afternoon:
About noon Saturday we slowly trickled in to the Wurstfest Grounds at Landa Park for our picnic. (A lot of us forgot where to go and got lost - me included). The grounds were beautiful. We were situated right on the river by the old mill at the front of the park. The weather was beautiful and the water - very cold. We got out our old year books and compared ourselves to the "old days". We had lots of food and drink and about 6 PM the Bar-B-Q arrived and thereafter we dug in and stuffed our faces. Then the DJ began setting up about 8 PM and CAROLE McRAE RICHARDS welcomed everyone to the Reunion and made everyone aware of those that couldn't make it and to hold them in our thoughts. Carole gave me a plaque with the inscription:
"Presented to Gloria Campbell Gallagher by the Randolph Ro-Hawk Alumni Association on Saturday, June 17, 1995 with many thanks and much love for all your hard work in keeping us together for 30 years.@
I got up to the microphone at that time and introduced my committee for which I extend my many thanks.CAROLE McRAE RICHARDSKAREN POOR PECKJEANNE ROBERTS STINSONPATTIEE TYLERand GARY BIRDJeanne was the first to volunteer to head and coordinate the committee. Carole handled the registrations and the bank account. Karen and her husband Bob, arranged for the food and drink. They also had to decide on a band or DJ and Shop for food and drinks and paper goods. These girls met several times to hash out ideas, made a million calls with the Officer's Club, the school, to me and to each other. They personally and unselfishly sacrificed many hours of their time to help make this Reunion a success. Pattie contacted the Golf Tournament organizers, TOM MADSEN and JEFF LINDLEY. Jeff and Tom organized the tournament and took registrations and made all the arrangements for the tournament. Last, but not least, Gary arranged for us to be at the Wurstfest grounds at Landa Park which were indeed very special.
I WANT TO THANK ALL OF THOSE WHO HAVE HELPED ME IN THE PAST. WITHOUT THE SUCCESSES OF THE PAST REUNIONS WE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO CONTINUE TO HOLD OUR REUNIONS. THANK YOU.
Also special thanks to CAROL TURNIEPSEED RABERLE for sending us a banner that read:
ARandolph High School Rohawk Reunion 30 yeears (+ or -)@
I gave a speech and I was FINALLY able to get through it. At one point, being very emotional, I was crying and my nose was running so I sniffed - unfortunately, the microphone was right there and it was the sniff heard all over New Braunfels! Everyone was encouraging me along the way and made me feel very special - but I was glad to be done with it and very proud that I was able to verbally thank everyone and express my sincere appreciation to everyone who lent a hand in making our reunion extra meaningful.
The DJ played oldies until midnight. We were able to dance and still talk without yelling. It was nice at the park - yes, it was a little warm - but I think it has been known to get a little warm at the Auger Inn too during the last few years. We had great food and drink - and a great cake with a Ro-Hawk on it. Of course, the night couldn't end without saying our tearful (or rather my tearful) goodbyes - and of course we couldn't end the night without stopping for breakfast. My husband and I were joined by DOUG GREENLEAF.
On Sunday morning, we had another breakfast - (what else?) with BILL BORELLIS, KAREN and BOB PECK, CAROL RICHARDS, PATTIE, ME, DAN and our son, KELLY.
Then it was time to go home.
I have truly enjoyed the past 20 years that I have been writing the newsletter and planning and attending the Reunions. Through your letters and telephone calls I have been privy to most of your private lives. I have read about heartbreak and happiness, failures and successes, tragedies and triumphs. I have personally visited with some of you and received many friendly telephone calls. I have seen a Ro-Hawk run onstage and collect an Emmy; I have seen a Ro-Hawk blast into space and then walk in space; I have seen a Ro-Hawk sit on the panel at the Iran-Contra hearings; I've been to Washington DC on a personal private tour of the Capitol Building arranged by a Ro-Hawk; and I have received novels written by a Ro-Hawk. I have also heard stories about the Vietnam and Gulf War from Ro-Hawks who were there, and I have traveled in my mind to the many places Ro-Hawks have been. I have kept every letter and card that has been sent to me for the past 20 years and I treasure each one. I am a very lucky person to have so many friends who care about me and who care about each other. All of you have inspired me to continue to keep in contact with the Ro-Hawk spirit and with all of you. I salute you. God Bless you and thank you for the bottom of my heart.

BITS & PIECES
I was lucky enough to spend several days in San Antonio and I visited with many other friends. I was given a lunch by my friends from the Mother's of Twins Club. 25 years ago we chartered a club for mothers of twins in San Antonio. ANN DORMAN WEDDLE and her husband, RANDY, took me to dinner on Thursday evening at the Grist Mill at Gruene outside of New Braunfels..
On Saturday morning I had (what else) breakfast with an old girlfriend that I went to elementary school with at Lamar Elementary School, New Braunfels (5th and 6th grade). We had a LOT to catch up on. My friend also came to the picnic as she was acquainted with Gary and Margaret Ann Bird and Jeff and Marty Lindley.
My husband's oldest son, DAVID, was able to join us from Ft. Hood where he is stationed. He and our son Kelly, spent time together at Schlitterbahn and tubing down the river all day Saturday. We also went rafting down the river together on Friday afternoon.
I also had a very nice lunch with my former mother-in-law, MRS. PECHULS, at a new dining place in Selma - yes, Selma, the Selma City Hall Grill. We ate inside the jail cell! Her exciting news is a she's moved to a brand new home!

Well, there you have it - the 30th Reunion is over and done. It was a great time.
ORGANIZATION?
There have been several suggestions that we "organize" into an Alumni Association and pay dues and using the money to defray the costs of the next reunion. Yes, there was talk of a next reunion. Dues, of course, would be minimal - $5.00 per year - I personally don't think any of you have the time to deal with another organization. This fact is evident because I don't hear regularly from all of you. So, I have chosen to continue as we have for the last 20 years - if you feel the urge, donations are accepted and will be used for postage, photocopying and paper. However, one thing will change. All donations will be deposited into a special account that will be overseen by Carole Richards. Carole has volunteered to be our unofficial Treasurer and will keep the Reunion account open for deposits and distribution to me for expenses. Any funds left over will defray the expenses of the next reunion. Let me hear from you on this idea and we would appreciate ANY suggestions any of you may have. I will continue to write this newsletters and in five years IF we have interest we will try the reunion thing again. If not - we will just go on as Is.
THANK YOU FOR THE DONATIONS which have been received since May from Gail Steed Mcllhany, Art Nigro (from Australia), Mrs. Daisy McRae (Carole's Mom) David McDowell, Susan Ohman Baldwin, Dickie Buchert O'Banion and thanks to Earl Dodgion for reimbursement for stamps for the Areminder@ invitation for the Reunion.
Update on my life:
Big news - My new grandson, Dylan Kyle Pechuls is amazingly doing very well thanks to the magnificent care he has received from all his doctors and nurses and his most apparent will to live. He was not due until July 31st - but was born April 11th. He is a little over 3 months old now, still in the hospital and weighs a whole 4 pounds 2 oz. (Remember, he was 1 pound 3 oz at birth). He has put on much of his weight this past month when he was started on formula. He still faces a minor hernia surgery and will probably be in the hospital in a matter of weeks. This past weekend he was moved out of intensive care and put with all the other babies in the regular nursery. My son, Kyle and his wife, Donna are really looking forward to having their little boy home for good. If you saw the recent 48 Hours show on TV the other night - Dylan is truly a miracle baby.
My daughter, Allison, has moved to Jacksonville with her husband. This is the first time we have been separated and we are suffering from separation anxiety. However, e-mail and the telephone have been great helps.
My son, Mark, moved to Ft. Lauderdale to try to begin his own business and is working with Chuck at this time.
Danny and I have almost recuperated from our Texas trip. Getting back into the swing of things has been really hard.
My son, Kelly, did pass 7th grade and will enter 8th grade at Advent Lutheran School in the fall.
It was great seeing all of you - the years have been kind. I can't believe we are heading or are at the half-century mark. Sorry I mentioned it. ha ha. Keep all those cards and letters coming. This cannot be a newsletter unless I get those letters with news of you and your family. I love all of you - you are the greatest. Take care until next time.
Love,
GLORIA

FRIDAY - JUNE 16, 1995 - 7:00 PM: We will meet in Randolph High School Gym - just to walk around and reminisce. Then we have been cleared to land at the Auger Inn at the Officer's Club. Stay up all night or turn in early - Because on
SATURDAY - JUNE 17, 1995 - there will be a Golf Tournament at Landa Park, New Braunfels * Tee Time 9:00 AM (More about this later) - 12:00 NOON we will meet at the Wurstfest grounds near Landa Park, New Braunfels. We will have snacks, drinks and fun all day - Lunch on your own. In the evening we will have a big Bar-B-Q dinner (Catered by Casey's Barbeque) with soft drinks and music until midnight. You can go sightseeing and enjoy New Braunfels or San Antonio - or come by the park and hang out - We will be twisting and shouting under the Texas sky.
New Braunfels as most of you will remember is still a small town - however, it has grown into a nice little tourist town. There are the many rivers - tubing and the resort and waterpark - SCHLITTERBAHN - the natural springs of the rivers combine with slides and tubes and lots of very cold water.
